Pulitzer Award Biased in Favor of Open Borders, Gives Award to BS Attack on Sheriff Joe Arpaio

By Debbie Schlussel
Today, winners of the annual Pulitzer Prize awards were announced. The award is kind of the like the Nobel prize, except for American journalism (and the arts–literature, music, and plays). And just as biased as the Nobel.
Today’s winners included a series, which attacked Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s efforts to enforce immigrations laws.

The judges also awarded a Pulitzer in local reporting to the East Valley Tribune of Mesa, Ariz., for revealing how a sheriff’s focus on immigration enforcement endangered investigations of other crimes.

Yes, because illegal aliens never commit crimes, right? Does this paper’s Pulitzer-winning “local reporting” also include “revelaing how a cleaning woman’s focus on dirt endangered her cleaning efforts”? Just wondering.
Remember this politically-motivated “journalism award” the next time someone brags they’ve won a Pulitzer.
Ironic–no, actually, a complete lie–that the Pulitzer Prize medal bears this claim:

FOR THE MOST DISINTERESTED AND MERITORIOUS PUBLIC SERVICE

“Disinterested”? PUH-LEEZE. Pretty much every Pulitzer Prize in journalism goes to something written with a clear (and usually liberal) agenda.
Oh, and remember that the Pulitzers are awarded by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s fave American hangout, Columbia University.

Debbie–
Pulitzers were also given to Stalin-loving necrophiliac NY Times journo Walter Duranty, and Janet Cooke of the Washington Post who completely fabricated “Jimmy’s World,” the series than won her the award.
These prizes have been a bunch of PC crap since at least 1932.
[RR: SO TRUE. I FORGOT ABOUT JANET COOKE. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME. DS]

Hi Debbie,
Noticing your mention of Columbia University, it occurred to me to ask what colleges you would send your children to, if they did exceptionally well on the SATs and had great grades, etc. Have you identified any top name schools that would work for conservative families?

I lived in Arizona for awhile, and that newspaper is not indicative of how the majority of Arizonians view Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Anybody with an ounce of reason and brain power, will want a person like Joe Arpaio protecting your community. Mr. Arpaio has been voted into that position five times, so he must be doing something agreeable for the voters to keep wanting him.

Sheriff Joe probably just laughed it off. He is one of the few public officials in America who won’t apologize to liberals or pander to PC bullcrap. Thank goodness for that.

In the 1990’s a Pulitzer was awarded to Roy Guttman for his report about a Serbian rape camp, THAT DIDN’T EXIST!
