10 Years Later, Real Story of Columbine Killers Shows How Much Media Got Wrong; Calls Columbine Killers “Terrorists” But Won’t Do the Same for Actual (Islamic) Terrorists

By Debbie Schlussel
It’s not like we didn’t know this before: the liberal-dominated mainstream media lies, fabricates, and just doesn’t do its homework. And it reports a lot of “news” that’s simply false.
And so it goes with the Columbine massacre that happened a decade ago. Today’s USA Today cover story (yeah, I know, a liberal mainstream media outlet) shows us how much was false. It’s more proof of the proverbial don’t-believe-what-you-read adage. And it shows how ridiculous the conventional wisdom and nanny state push for “anti-bullying” laws are. It was all based on the false media allegations that Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris were bullied, when in fact they were not.

They weren’t goths or loners.
The two teenagers who killed 13 people and themselves at suburban Denver’s Columbine High School 10 years ago next week weren’t in the “Trenchcoat Mafia,” disaffected videogamers who wore cowboy dusters. The killings ignited a national debate over bullying, but the record now shows Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold hadn’t been bullied – in fact, they had bragged in diaries about picking on freshmen and “fags.”

Their rampage put schools on alert for “enemies lists” made by troubled students, but the enemies on their list had graduated from Columbine a year earlier. Contrary to early reports, Harris and Klebold weren’t on antidepressant medication and didn’t target jocks, blacks or Christians, police now say, citing the killers’ journals and witness accounts. That story about a student being shot in the head after she said she believed in God? Never happened, the FBI says now.
A decade after Harris and Klebold made Columbine a synonym for rage, new information – including several books that analyze the tragedy through diaries, e-mails, appointment books, videotape, police affidavits and interviews with witnesses, friends and survivors – indicate that much of what the public has been told about the shootings is wrong.

This is a great analysis and expose on how the media lies to us, but four words are missing. It should read:

[M]uch of what the public has been told by the mainstream media about the shooting is wrong.

Read the rest of the article. It’s very enlightening about how lazy reporters simply regurgitate rumors and hearsay and don’t do their homework. You know, the same lazy reporters who deride blogs and websites like this one that actually do their homework and break news the lazy reporters miss or deliberately omit and expose falsehoods they propagate.
One other point: The article goes on to say,

In fact, the pair’s suicidal attack was planned as a grand – if badly implemented – terrorist bombing that quickly devolved into a 49-minute shooting rampage when the bombs Harris built fizzled.

But, wait, we can’t call Klebold and Harris and their plot “terrorist,” according to the mainstream media’s stories for the last two weeks about how the Somalian Islamic terrorist “pirates” are not terrorists. After all, the New York Times and an annoying liberal commenter on this site say that terrorists are only terrorists if they are “linked to other terrorists” and “make an ideological demand.”
How dare USA Today call them terrorists?
I love, though, how the paper is ready, willing, and able to call this random pair at Columbine High “terrorists,” but it refuses, ad nauseam and ad absurdum, to call actual Islamic terrorist, including HAMAS, Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, and the “Somalian pirates,” “terrorists.”

Regarding the media, Rush Limbaugh uses a phrase to describe how they operate. Rush says that a story must “fit the template.”
The media has a preconceived view (illusion) of the world. This template is their religious base. They evangelize and promote it all the time.
Every story must either; fit into the template, be transformed to fit within the template, or totally ignored (not reported).

It sounds if the article is trying to link these two whack job kids as young conservatives that lost it. They bring up Tim McVeigh. According to liberals they must be acolytes and home-bred terrorists. It fits the narrative for today.
According to J.NO we should watch out for “Right Wing Radicals”. How is protecting that border thing going?….. That’s what I thought. She is worried about law-abiding Americans when there may be over 20 Million illegals in this country. Maybe the reason people are getting upset is because over the last 20 years nothing has been done effectively to stop real terrorism and control the border.
So the media picks up on this BS and now claim the tea bag protests as terror. Huffington Post has gone off the edge and calls it “Tea Bag Terror”.

Funny how the media didn’t label Cindy Sheehan and her bunch of protesters left wing extremists.

californiascreaming, I just read your post and link with the accompanying comments. This is my favorite comment,
you know, we laugh at these people and call it “comic” – but remember, these people have guns. That’s what worries me.
Having guns is what’s ultimately going to keep us safe from the liberal nutjobs out there. We’d better do all we can to keep them.

It is the same in Canada. Every year for the past 20, men are asked to spend Dec. 6, apologizing for violence against women. Why? On that date in 1989, Marc Lepine massacred 14 women at a Montreal technical school. Even the slightest research in the story reveals that Lepine was an Algerian, born “Gamil Garbi,” and the men-v-women violence was actually: sharia enforcement of Quran dictate. Garbi – who entered the Canadian Armed Forces by doing the minority affirmative action end-run of psych-controls – hated working with females. When he left the services, his misogyny escalated when he had to share classes with same. That is typical, alright: in Saudi Arabia, etc.

Proud to say that I’m one of the few who bothered to read the Colombine Police report on this incident with all the attached records and interviews. I knew this for a looooong time.
The police report had vast inconsistencies, though. If all the evidence is combined and viewed as valid, then there was a total of 8-9 attackers; one on the roof, two outside with pipe bombs, Harris may not had been involved (one girl claims she saw him in an unofficial smoking area), and both Harris and Klebold killed themselves in some physically impossible ways. Not a very good collection of evidence.
There was some connection to a group that many interviewed called a trenchcoat mafia, but many other interviews had them tagged as neo-nazi homosexuals, while other interviews said they were gangster homosexuals who mock-raped other kids at lunchtime in the cafeteria. The vast majority of those interviewed didn’t tag Klebold or Harris as leaders, but minor players.
So, what is to be believed in this case?
Also, there is a YouTube video of a unofficial videogame called Super Colombine Massacre

If that’s the left’s idea of a good time.

So, ummm…why did they do it then? If they were not bullied, not racist, not homophobic, hatred Marilyn Manson, and were some what popular and had friends…why was their reason? Most terrorists at the minimum make videos saying why they are going to do something or list their reasons and grievances (i.e. why they were screwed over and plan to get revenge).

I have read many articles today on this and so far, ZERO explain why they did it. The word “terrorist” keeps coming up but like I said, terrorists have reasons why they carry out attacks.

Eric Harris and Dylan Kebold were both neo-nazis who used to spend months on a web-page designed by a college punk from New England named Davis Wolfang Hawke. Hawke had a habit dressing in a nazi uniform and waling across the campus with the swastika flag. Check my blog for more information.
