Cold Got To Be: The Best “Airplane” Scene Hands Down

By Debbie Schlussel
From the good old days, when you could still refer to the help on a flight as “stewardess,” instead of the PC “flight attendant.”
Best Line: Chump Don’t Wan’Da Help, Chump Don’t Get Da Help.

Jes’ Hang Loose Blood.

I agree Debbie, absolutely priceless. I laugh hard every time I see it.

I remember with fondness, the days of moral clarity:

I blame the 1960’s as one part of the mess we are in as a nation.
I also blame,
The founding of the ACLU
The founding of the NAACP
The founding of NAMBLA
The creation of the Federal Reserve Act
The creation of the IRS
Can I go any further???

B”H
Probably Barbara Billingsly’s best career move.
:-}
Never knew that was Samuel L. Jackson.

I used to be ashamed to admit this- but I can recite that entire movie verbatim.
My favorite=
I need the best man on this. Someone who knows that plane inside and out and won’t crack under pressure. How about Mister Rogers?

It’s Beaver’s mom!
I have this on DVD.
One of the most hilarious movies ever. Every single scene is laugh out loud funny.
Surely was a great movie….and don’t call me Shirley.

Airplane…my favorite movie of all time! I just watched that clip and cracked up – again! (Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines…)

John Lithgow’s character, Dick, on Third Rock From the Sun went one better than “flight attendant”. He raised his hand and yelled out, “Oh, sky waitress”.

A classic!
Favorite parts:
How ‘white’ the translated text is. (“Golly!”)
The stewardesses!! Julie Haggerty and Lorna Patterson. HELL-O!
And this scene is a great follow-up:

Airplane fans, don’t miss Top Secret. It’s the best ZAZ ever. Totally insane and there are hidden gags I find at even fourth fifth viewing.

Yeah, I remember watching this as a kid (14). I really didn’t understand what either guy said. After working inside prisons for almost 14 years, I can say that I DO understand exactly what was said. It was actually clearer than a lot of stuff I hear every day! That’s messed up, huh?

Arguably one of the funniest movies of all time.
I am serious and don’t call me Shirley.
