Sgt. Jimmy Regan: A Soldier’s Uncle Writes

By
On Valentine’s Day, I told you of former Duke Lacrosse player, . He had job offers, a full scholarship to law school, and many opportunities. But he gave them up and life with his fiancee in order to serve our country in the War on Terror. He served double tours of duty in both Afghanistan and Iraq, earning a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and several other medals.
Sadly, he was killed in action in Iraq. Jimmy Regan’s uncle, Terry Desmond, contacted me and gave me permission to share his e-mail with you:

Hi Debbie,
I want to personally say what a great job you did on the on Army Ranger Sgt. James Regan, who was killed in action on February 9, 2007 in Northern Iraq.

Sgt. James John Regan, A True American Hero

“Jimmy” was my nephew. I am the younger brother of Jimmy’s mom, Mary R. (Desmond) Regan. He was a real “people person.” He never wasted a minute. He was always doing something, a highly motivated person.
I am so glad that all the posts I have read were positive about his bravery and commitment to serve as an Army Ranger. I will remember Jimmy as someone that if you met him, you really couldn’t help but like him.
I thank you for writing a very positive article. He was a great young man. And brought that out.
Sincerely,
Terry Desmond

Sgt. James John Regan, Rest In Peace.

Debbie, I agree that Sgt. Jimmy Regan and others like him are heroes. On the other hand, these men shouldn’t be dying to make Iraq safe. And with allies like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, we hardly need enemies. This whole war on terror has been too political and selective from the start.

Sgt Regan was a hero and a patriot. I pray for his family and his fellow soldiers who continue this hard fight. I encourage other Americans to send care packages and gifts to the front line to cheer the hearts of our patriots.
Thank you for your article. I am adding you to my blogroll.

Let our soldiers fight this war and go after the bomb-makers, or get the soldiers out. Pick one.

I encourage everyone to leave a message on Sgt. Regans Memorial page. I am sure all messages are of a great comfort to his family.

RIP, Sgt. James John Regan.
Our troops are doing a great many civic action projects that don’t get a great deal of media attention, too. And they put their lives at great risk to do them. Let’s take the sad moment of the death of each of our uniformed personnel as an opportunity to remember our heroes that are still alive.
Iraq now is just a symptom. President Bush, the disease is being spread by your buddies in Saudi Arabia.
Saddam Hussein was a thug, a murderer and a tyrant, in constant violation of cease-fire accords that he ordered to be signed on his behalf.
But, Mr. President, your buffoonery in dealing with the situation in Iraq, coupled with your refusal to deal with it at its source, has undercut the selfless, noble sacrifices of the best that America has to offer, and placed America in more danger than we were in when you were inaugurated.
Mr. President, for how many years after 9/11 did you have the support of a Republican Congress in Washington and the whole world beyond our borders. You have no one to blame for this mess but yourself. And that’s why, to all of your buffoonery, you can now chalk up the return of a Democrat-controlled Congress.
Our military offers no excuses. Perhaps its time their commander-in-chief followed suit.

Look at this beautiful young man. A man, a hero, and the kid you wish lived next door. And the fucking liberals want to spit on his sacrifice to our way of life and our values. Personally, I think any country that prefaces it’s name with “The Islamic Republic of..” needs to be obliterated, totally. And Hezzbullshitters need to be rubbed out in Dearbornistan. Gad! I’m so sick of those “religion of peace” assholes.

Sgt. James John Regan, true Americans honor your sacrifice of life to do service for your country. In your memory, first let us bring our troops home, today, to defend our borders here. Then we can elect a real leader, not a hill-billy from Arkansas or a wannabe from Illinois or a man who has been in the Arizona sun too long, to save this country. Wake up America. The front lines are coming to a theater or a mall in a neighborhood near you. Sgt. James John Regan has done all he can. The rest is up to you.

In case some of you haven’t heard, there will be another dirty hippie protest on March 17th in D.C. This time they will start off at the Vietnam Wall and march to the Pentagon to call for an end to the war. Many veterans groups around the country are organizing trips to guard the Vietnam Wall against the hippie scum. For more information go to http://www.gatheringofeagles.com.
Many of the veterans were pretty pissed about the last protest where a an amputee veteran was spat upon by a dirty hippie. They have no shame and think nothing of spitting on the sacrifice of soldiers past and present. Since I am no longer active duty, I will be there in my desert boonie cap. Many of my co-workers are veterans and a few are Vietnam veterans, they will be there too. If you ever want to get them going, just mention Jane Fonda, it’s kind of funny to watch their reaction. It’s all in good fun though.
Bottom line, the veterans of this nation are fed up with being spit on and we refuse to let our spoiled fellow countrymen, (I’m obviously not referring to most of the people on this site), degrade our sacrifices anymore!
God Bless You SGT Regan, Hooah!
