A lot of blame should go to Republicans and conservatives as well for not understanding the nature of Islam or human nature.
Barack Hussein Obama’s relatives are all Muslim or very close and his closest earliest friends and associates were Muslims in Indonesia. So why would he NOT feel close to Islam?
Yet Republicans refused to bring up his close association with Islam. I studied in Malaysia, which is considered a “moderate” Islamic nation, and Malaysia is every bit as radical as any Muslim nation. No Israelis can enter the country. Indonesia is just as radical.
Yet this topic was off limits. If Republicans won’t stand up against Islam, we are going to get a Muslim leader and probably have one right now.

Gabe, don’t expect much from the Republicans, on the Hill or many of the pundits.
Most Republicans are cowards. They are afraid to be called “racists” if they criticize Hussein or dig his dirt. Just like many of those Whites who voted for Hussein.
They did it to send a message that they are not racists, yet the very gesture of voting because of the thought of race and color makes them racists.
You can’t deny or hide the undeniable no matter how clever you are.
And Hussein is taking advantage of that fear and cowardice by courting the Republican pundits and embracing them to confirm their loyalty or at least their sympathy and admiration for the new “king.”
Hussein’s plan:
To befriend everybody as possible as he can, even the enemies of America, to remain popular.
But remeber this:
The day Hussein falls, his fall from the thrown will be so dramatic and disastrous.

Making any deal with fatah, the PLA, PLO or abu Abbas (abu asshole) is making a deal with another Arafat style murdering thug.

I believe there is some method to Obama officially calling Abbas before world powers or Israel PM.
He is likely sending a message to Olmert et al that “you are not the one and only”, and some serious negotiations are in order.
Unfortunately, befriending Abbas will further irritate the Hamas leadership, making them even more difficult to deal with.
Obama likely believes he has the wit and charm that Bush did not, to convince Hamas to put down their rockets.
Perhaps this is the first step for Obama to be a one term President.
