Dog Gives Life to Save Man From Black Bear Attack

By
A dog truly is man’s best friend:

CATARACT, Wis. (AP) — Jason Schindler says he wouldn’t be alive if it were not for his dog, Dude.
The 27-year-old rural Cataract man said the 8-year-old mixed-breed hound jumped between him and an attacking black bear Thursday night, saving his life but giving up his own.
The animal sustained at least 28 puncture wounds to his chest and neck, he said. . . .
He said he heard the dog yelping loudly Thursday after dark and went out to see what was happening.
Suddenly, “all I saw was this dark thing lunging at me,” Schindler said.

But his dog jumped between the two and was quickly snatched up in the bear’s jaw, he said.
“If not for the dog, I wouldn’t be standing here,” Schindler said.
The bear, estimated at being between 400 and 500 pounds, dragged the dog to his nearby den under a thicket of downed trees. . . .
“In a way he was a miracle dog.”

Dogs – Brave and loyal. No wonder Scuzlim Cab Drivers hate them!

So let me get this straight – the dog was out looking for a raccoon to kill and then started yelping at some bear rather than just letting the bear be and then the rest followed.

Hey feralcat9;
Why don’t you change your nom de plume to ” totally f**ked-up a**hole”!
What proof do you have that the dog was looking to kill anything?
Also! All dogs bark, and become aggressive when someone, or something, intrudes on their “territory”. That’s what dogs do!
Have you ever heard the phrase “GUARD DOG”???
If you are currently residing in a mental institution, I apologize.

Hey DDB,
EXCELLENT OBSERVATION!!! I have often wondered about the dog thing. It makes sense!!!

A Supreme Court Justice once wrote “Dogs Give Us More Loyalty than We Deserve”. This is very true. I know my dog would sacrifice himself in an instant to protect me or one of my family (His Pack). Dogs are truly noble animals. That another reason why I will never trust Muslims. They don’t like dogs.

I forgot who it was that said this about the dog:
My goal in life is to become the person my dog thinks I am.
Why is dog called dog? My belief:
Dog spelled backwards is God. Man, with our finite and limited minds, can never understand the concept of infinite love, of unconditional love. God gave man the dog so that we can experience just a little of what His infinite, unconditional love is. Dog is here for man to be able to experience the smallest amount of God’s love for us.
