Just Like Ted Nugent, Model is Hypocrite Draft-Dodger

By Debbie Schlussel
In case you don’t remember the name Bar Refaeli, she’s the Israeli model who appeared in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and is the on-again, off-again girlfriend of actor Leonardo DiCaprio, or we call him here, Leonardo DiCrapio. She hopes to make it big in showbiz and Hollywood and hosts travel shows on Bravo.
And she’s a lot like Ted Nugent. How so? Well, she’s a draft dodger and a hypocrite about it. When asked by women’s mag Marie Claire who is tougher–Israelis or New Yorkers–she answered, thus:

Israelis. They went through the army, you know.

Problem is, just like Ted Nugent, she dodged the draft–and said something just a tad different, a year ago, about serving in the Israeli Army when she was asked about it by Israel’s Yediot Achronot. In Israel, everyone is required to either serve in the military or do national service. She didn’t, and she bragged about it, saying that was for the “little people.”

Hypocrite-ette: The Israeli Ted Nugent

In her interview, the Israeli model said she was not against army service, even though she never enlisted, having married an acquaintance to evade the draft. The couple was soon divorced.
“I really wanted to serve in the IDF, but I don’t regret not enlisting, because it paid off big time,” she said. “That’s just the way it is, celebrities have other needs. I hope my case has influenced the army.”
“Israel or Uganda [DS: where she was modeling while fellow Israelis were risking their lives in the Army], what difference does it make? It makes no difference to me. Why is it good to die for our country? What, isn’t it better to live in New York? Why should 18-year-old kids have to die? It’s dumb that people have to die so that I can live in Israel,” Refaeli added.

Read Carl in Jerusalem‘s past comments about this nauseating, ugly woman hiding inside a beautiful outward visage.
How do you say “hypocrite” in Hebrew? The word is tzavuah. But a great synonym is “Bar Refaeli.”

I can claim a disability as the reason I didn’t serve in the military. All other things being equal, I would have enlisted even today if my health and reflexes were perfect. In Israel, even kids with Down’s Syndrome are now allowed to serve in the IDF. What’s Bar Refaeli’s excuse? That’s she’s too pretty to die for her country? She puts past generations of Jews who made all those sacrifices so she could grow up in Israel to shame by her conduct. They are far better than this spoiled child of a woman will ever be.

She seems low class to me.
On another matter, I saw a legal screener of Will Smith’s movie, “Seven Pounds.” I can’t wait until Debbie goes off on the theme of this “Christmas” movie. Hollywood is an amoral swamp.

She is in the same class as Shimon Peres, Ehud Olmert’s sons, (one is a draft dodger and the other is AWOL,) Pop Singer Aviv Gefen and many more of the leftist elitists. It is funny how the media is always screaming about the religious Yeshiva students who have the same deferment as University students but never bring up the elitist personalities who dodge the draft!
Then you have one class higher on the food chain called a “jobnik” or one who enlists but never holds a gun and goes home every night to a hot supper from mama like Yossi Sarid who even got a bath by his mama when he was a military correspondent. Olmert was one of them too, shot at Arabs with the ink in his pen maybe!

I think you guys are being a little too harsh.
She might be spoiled and naive, but I don’t think she’s being hypocritical. I submit the quote above as evidence of that since it brings up a valid point. Not that the IDF is bad, but that the hatred, relentless attacks and prejudice caused by Moslems and other anti-Semites necessitates compulsory service. She does seem proud of her Israeli heritage and the bravery and sacrifice of Jews who live there.
Then again, I always have been a sucker for a pretty face.
I love you Debbie S!

Bar Rafaeli is just another ingrate airhead.

Look at the vacant expression on this thing’s face. This idiot is an empty headed narcissist.

Debbie, I’m disappointed that the IDF didn’t find a way to work with her instead of having her evade the draft. From what she said, it sounds like they weren’t willing to play ball. Perhaps treating her like a typical 18 year old seemed like a good idea, but it was just a typical Israeli PR fiasco.

It never ceases to amaze me that the arrogance of these people allows them to eschew the citizens and institutions that gave them all they had in the first place. Israel is surrounded by enemies who would like nothing better than to destroy it and she thinks that her civic responsibilities are for the Ôø?little people?Ôø? The more I think about it the more firmly convinced I become that liberalism really is a mental disorder.

———————–
Ironic that she should mention Uganda. That’s the place where a planeload of Jews were hijacked to, and where her Israeli army flew to rescue them.
I’ll bet if she had been one of those Jewish hostages, they would have rescued her, in spite of her selfish and hypocritical attitude.
See the movie Raid on Entebbe to see the story of the Uganda rescue. A GREAT movie.

I think Ms. Rafaeli missed the boat on this one. I think it would have actually added to her sex appeal if she had served in the IDF, even for PR purposes. The idea that a pretty model is not just another cocaine-addled airhead, but a former military-trained soldier definitely would have added to her allure for me. She could have had that whole “Bond girl beautiful-but-deadly” mystique.
Now she just comes across as another narcistic supermodel…

Doesn’t anyone else think that it’s odd that a country is making service in the military a requirement? In both times of war and of peace??
ESPECIALLY FOR A WOMAN!!
Maybe, like a lot of women, she felt that she wasn’t exactly “military material”. I know that I certainly wouldn’t want to be drafted.
Secondly, the statement from ObamaSlammaJamma is somewhat ridiculous. He (or she) states:
Not that the IDF is bad, but that the hatred, relentless attacks and prejudice caused by Moslems and other anti-Semites necessitates compulsory service.
Oddly enough, Lebanon who seems to have one of THE BIGGEST ongoing clashes with Israel does not have mandatory military enlistment. It makes one wonder who is more willing to fight who.
Is she a dumbass for saying that the military is for “small people”? Of course. After a comment like that, I would be happy if I was enlisted in the IDF to not have a person like her in my ranks.
[L: ISRAEL HAS NEVER BEEN AT PEACE AND HAS CONSTANTLY BEEN UNDER ATTACK BY ITS 22 MUSLIM SURROUNDING, WARRING NATIONS, AS WELL AS TERRORISTS FROM WITHIN. WHAT WE THINK IS ODD IS THAT A TROLL LIKE YOU SPENDS SO MUCH TIME MAKING ANTI-ISRAEL COMMENTS ON THIS SITE THAT ARE JUST SO MUCH FERTILIZER. BUH-BYE. DS]
