Ex-Ron Paul Aide to Schlussel: “He HATES Israel,” Banned Sympathy for 9/11 Victims/Support for US Military, Upset We Fought Nazis

By Debbie Schlussel

To all of the PaulNuts out there who argue that Ron Paul isn’t anti-Semitic or anti-Israel, just isolationist libertarian and doesn’t believe we should be involved in foreign policy, that’s just bunk.  As I pointed out previously on this site, Paul, and the two equally nutty Republican Congressmen (including Palestinian Justin Amash) who support him for President, had the opportunity to vote to end U.S. aid to HAMAS, and they voted against it, choosing instead to continue to send your tax money to HAMAS and its supporters in Gaza.  Ron Paul also proudly spoke at the openly pro-HAMAS/pro-Hezbollah Arab American Institute Leadership Conference (see the video of his pandering speech, below).  That’s aside from Paul’s 9/11 trutherism and his constant blaming of America for 9/11 and the Muslim world hating us.  It’s not to mention his constant defense of Iran, its funding of HAMAS and Hezbollah, and its acquisition of nuclear weapons.  And don’t forget how Paul happily accepted campaign contributions from the owner of the anti-Semitic, racist, neo-Nazi Stormfront site. Now, there is more.

Ron Paul Poses @ Pro-HAMAS/Hezbollah Arab American Institute Conference

Over the weekend I received a statement from Eric Dondero, a libertarian Republican, who worked for Ron Paul for 17 years.  Dondero, who now publishes the Libertarian Republican site, was Ron Paul’s personal assistant and worked on his various campaigns, etc.  He had some very disturbing things to say about Ron Paul, his open support for the Palestinians and hatred of Israel, his opposition to fighting World War II, how he asked Dondero to wear a yarmulke and other adornments to a press conference to answer charges of Paul’s anti-Semitism, etc. Dondero also shows us how unprincipled Paul is. He claimed he was against the war in Iraq, and regardless of what you think of the war in hindsight, Paul changed his vote to protect his political career. He’s not the principled libertarian he claims he is.  He’s just another political hack and opportunist, like almost everybody else in office. I don’t agree with Eric’s dismissal of the racist and anti-Semitic comments in the Ron Paul newsletters. Those are important. But so is this information from Eric. As you read Eric Dondero’s statement, remember that Eric occupied these positions in Ron Paul’s employ:

* Fmr. Senior Aide, US Cong. Ron Paul, 1997 – 2003
* Campaign Coordinator, Ron Paul for Congress, 1995/96
* National Organizer, Draft Ron Paul for President, 1991/92
* Travel Aide/Personal Asst. Ron Paul, Libertarian for President
1987/88

Here are some excerpts from the statement Eric Dondero sent me (all of the emphasis/bold-lettering was added by me):

He is . . . most certainly Anti-Israel, and Anti-Israeli in general.  He wishes the Israeli state did not exist at all.  He expressed this to me numerous times in our private conversations.  His view is that Israel is more trouble than it is worth, specifically to the America taxpayer.  He sides with the Palestinians, and supports their calls for the abolishment of the Jewish state, and the return of Israel, all of it, to the Arabs. . . .

On the incident that’s being talked about in some blog media about the campaign manager directing me to a press conference of our opponent Lefty Morris in Victoria to push back on Anti-Jewish charges from the Morris campaign, yes, that did happen.  The Victoria Advocate described the press conference very accurately.  Yes, I was asked (not forced), to attend the conference dressed in a Jewish yarlmuke, and other Jewish adornments.  [DS:  Eric Dondero’s mother is Jewish, and, therefore, he is Jewish according to Jewish law, but does not identify as such, only as “half-Jewish.”]

There was another incident when Ron finally agreed to a meeting with Houston Jewish Young Republicans at the Freeport office.  He berated them, and even shouted at one point, over their un-flinching support for Israel.  So, much so, that the 6 of them walked out of the office.  I was left chasing them down the hallway apologizing for my boss. . . .

Ron Paul is most assuredly an isolationist.  He denies this charge vociferously.  But I can tell you straight out, I had countless arguments/discussions with him over his personal views.  For example, he strenuously does not believe the United States had any business getting involved in fighting Hitler in WWII.  He expressed to me countless times, that “saving the Jews,” was absolutely none of our business.  When pressed, he often times brings up conspiracy theories like FDR knew about the attacks of Pearl Harbor weeks before hand, or that WWII was just “blowback,” for Woodrow Wilson’s foreign policy errors, and such.

I would challenge him, like for example, what about the instances of German U-boats attacking U.S. ships, or even landing on the coast of North Carolina or Long Island, NY.  He’d finally concede that that and only that was reason enough to counter-attack against the Nazis, not any humanitarian causes like preventing the Holocaust. . . .

There is much more information I could give you on the sheer lunacy of his foreign policy views. Let me just concentrate on one in specific. And I will state this with absolute certainty:

Ron Paul was opposed to the War in Afghanistan, and to any military reaction to the attacks of 9/11.

He did not want to vote for the resolution. He immediately stated to us staffers, me in particular, that Bush/Cheney were going to use the attacks as a precursor for “invading” Iraq. He engaged in conspiracy theories including perhaps the [9/11] attacks were coordinated with the CIA, and that the Bush administration might have known about the attacks ahead of time.  He expressed no sympathies whatsoever for those who died on 9/11, and pretty much forbade us staffers from engaging in any sort of memorial expressions, or openly asserting pro-military statements in support of the Bush administration. . . .

Ron was “under the spell” of left-anarchist and Lew Rockwell associate Joe Becker at the time, who was our legislative director. [DS: Lew Rockwell is an anti-Israel, anti-Semitic, isolationist libertarian nut.] Norm Singleton, another Lew Rockwell fanatic agreed with Joe.  All other staffers were against Ron, Joe and Norm on this, including Lizardo.  At the very last minute Ron switched his stance and voted “Yay,” much to the great relief of Jackie and I.  He never explained why, but I strongly suspected that he realized it would have been political suicide; that staunchly conservative Victoria would revolt, and the Republicans there would ensure that he would not receive the nomination for the seat in 2002.  Also, as much as I like to think that it was my yelling and screaming at Ron, that I would publicly resign if he voted “No,” I suspect it had a lot more to do with Jackie’s threat, for she WAS Victoria.  And if Jackie bolted, all of the Victoria conservatives would immediately turn on Ron, and it wouldn’t be pretty.

If you take anything from this lengthy statement, I would hope that it is this final story about the Afghanistan vote, that the liberal media chooses to completely ignore, because it doesn’t fit their template, is what you will report.

If Ron Paul should be slammed for anything, it’s not some silly remarks he’s made in the past in his Newsletters.  It’s over his simply outrageously horrendous views on foreign policy, Israel, and national security for the United States.  His near No vote on Afghanistan.  That is the big scandal.  And that is what should be given 100 times more attention from the liberal media, than this Newsletter deal.

Thanks, Eric, for having the courage to shed more light on this fraud known as Ron Paul. Republicans in Iowa (and elsewhere) who vote for this clown are doing nothing to help America and everything to make sure that Barack Obama is President for eight years instead of just four. I would vote for any of the other potential Republican candidates for President against Barack Obama. But I would NEVER vote for Ron Paul. Never. I would simply abstain in the race.

There is a reason so many kooks, neo-Nazis, Stormfront crowd thugs, and–yes–even Muslims are supporters of Ron Paul.  They know what he stands for.  And so does Eric Dondero, who was his personal aide for over a decade.

Thankfully, Ron Paul will not be the GOP nominee or President of the United States. Anyone voting for him is simply helping to elevate the respectability of this anti-American, Israel-hating, pan-Arabist, pro-Iran fraud.  And, again, they are helping to elevate the re-election chances of Barack Hussein Obama.

Here’s Ron Paul’s disgusting speech to the HAMAS and Hezbollah supporters at the Arab American Institute event dominated by Muslims.

Isn’t it ironic that this Debbie Schlussel, who is falsely and maliciously alleging that Dr. Paul is an anti-Semitic racist Nazi sympathizer, while simultaneously boasting about having been his trusted confidant for seventeen years, happens to be Jewish? Are we to suppose she managed to keep this inconvenient FACT a secret until now?

I can always tell the alien creatures from ZOG by their anti-semitism.

It oozes out…just like their green blood.

And I will NEVER vote for that old fool Ron Paul because he and his supporters are jew-hating nutters.

Every post proves it more and more.

Skunky on December 27, 2011 at 12:59 pm

First off Joe, if Debbie is making false and malicious accusations of Ron Paul, don’t you think by now Representative Paul would’ve hired himself a lawyer and filed a “defamation/libel” lawsuit against Ms. Schlussel from either this morning or yesterday? Secondly, it was Eric Dondero a former employee of Ron Paul who told Ms. Schlussel all of these informations about his former boss, truth is is that you’re old-geezer butt-plug is indeed an anti-semite, doens’t think Israel should exist, he supports a Palestinian state (more likely there state is either Jordan, West Bank or South Lebanon) and he is yes a racist, he’s made some anti-black sentiments, etc. and he’s also friends with Don Black of Stormfront (a white supremacist blog).

And that link you got from wikipedia about DS is false, the vermin at wikipedia have made tons of false and malicious accusations about Debbie Schlussel herself, and since she’s a lawyer, she can easily file a libel lawsuit against wikipedia! And you’re NOT fooling one bit Joe, at 7:17 am this morning, you’ve exposed yourself for the anti-semite you truly are, and here’s you’re quote:

“The deck here is quite obvioulsy stacked with Zionist agents,”

Care to explain that to me Joe? Oh you can’t because you already exposed yourself for the jew-hater you really are. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “make no mistake about it, those who are anti-Zionist are indeed anti-Semitic”, and Dr. King was right about what he said in that statement! You Ron Paul hacks are just as pathetic as the Barack Obama hacks from 2008 and today! Go back to Stormfront and share you’re opinions and viewpoints with them Joe!

Hey moron Joe Bartee or whatever the f–k your name is, Debbie is absolutely right!!! Ru Paul has proven over and over that he is ABSOLUTELY an anti-Israel, anti-semitic bigot, and I bet you are, too, quite frankly!!

FDR chose to get us into war with Japan so he could save Stalin and Soviet Russia. FDR intended to declare war on Germany if Germany had not declared war on the USA. FDR had 90% of our men and weapons go to the European theater, even though Japan posed a much greater threat to American territory. FDR did not get into WWII to save the Jews. Many people do not know that until Hitler attacked the Soviet Union, the American left opposed American support for Britain’s fight against Germany.

BTW, Dondero also says Paul isn’t telling the whole truth about these newsletters.

Mike–Your alleged quotations of the founding fathers are phony as a three dollar bill, and so is your thesis that Ron Paul is a true American. Ron Paul is nothing of the kind. He is a liar, an anti-Semite, and is anti-American as well. He would OPENLY supports Muslims terrorists and attacks those who want to strike back against Muslim terrorists. He is an ENEMY of the Constitution and the USA.

Ron Paul is an “American” in the same way that Henry Ford was an “American.” Henry Ford supported the Nazis and did not want the USA to go to war against Germany. Ford also hated Jews because of their abilities and success in business, science, and technology, which Ford felt threatened by. But that is not all. Ford more than any other industrialist also was responsible for building up the military capabilities of Soviet Union/Russia. That’s right, Henry Ford was also the most important single backer of Communism in the World. So Ford was beloved by both the Nazis AND the Communists–both haters of Jews AND enemies of the USA and civilization for that matter.

Your alleged “quotations” are phony because the founding father did NOT say what you claim they did and you are also taking their altered statements out of context. These phony quotations probably come from the very same people that have created quotations that attack Jews and then attributed those phony quotations to people such as Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, George Washington. The goal is to make it seem “plausible” that the founding fathers are anti-Semitic. In your particular case, your phony quotations are used to create the illusion that the founding fathers were “isolationists” like Ron Paul and Henry Ford.

If anyone is interested you can attempt to Google every one of Mike’s phony “quotations” for their sources. You will quickly discover that the founding fathers NEVER said what Mike claims they said. The quotations are BULL, just like Mike…… and Ron Paul, of course.

For the record once again, these comments are NOT BY ME, THE RALPH ADAMO WHO LIVES IN NEW ORLEANS. That other Ralph Adamo seems to either have no life off-line or possibly to be the paid underling of a busy, sweaty think tank operating in the shadows of power. Really, Ron Paul will not be president. Will not have more influence in the dysfunctional Republican Party than any of the other strange, truth-challenged, oddities (Mitt, Newt, Rick — I see an Enlightenment satire brewing…)currently making fools of themselevs. Why so excited about poor old Ron P?

You’re rhetoric sounds extremely like muslim-zealots who uses all sorts of anti-semitic rhetoric. And Debbie was born and raised in this country and she puts the USA first all the time, the reason why she and many of us supports Israel is because their are alleys in the middle east. Who the hell do you want us to support Kyrie, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan? Non-Interventionism is NOT Isolationism.
The CIA has be interfering with numorous countries political processes as well as enflaming islamic extremists. The less we interfer with other nations, the less blowback we will experience. The more we interfer, the more middle eastern extremists we will have to deal with. With all the anti muslim sentiment that our mainstream media vomits, you can expect to see a rise in christian extremist, such at the Oslo incident. Dont deny his being christian. His manifesto and youtube crusader videos make a plain to see. so keep watching Fox or CNN or whatever corporate owned media empire you wish to wash your brain with.
If you cant comprehend the idea of “Giving up liberty for security”, maybe this video will help….

Dolorosa, another Ron Paul jackass and another anti-semite. Nazi-Dolorosa let me educate you on a quote that the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said in his day, “make no mistake about it, those who consider themselves anti-zionist are anti-semitic”! Go ahead and try to contradict what MLK Jr. said in his day before he was shot to death?

And BTW, in that propaganda link, those are the type of jews who way back in the holocaust era would find employment for Hitler’s nazi regime government, sold their co-religionist jewish people to the nazi party and let them die in the death camps, etc. And BTW, since you and all you’re Ron Paulnutjob ilk proved you’re true colors, I would like for you and you’re ilk of hateful, vile, and repugnant anti-semitic human-hyenas read “Genesis 12:1-3”! In those three verses god himself expalined how the jews are his chosen people.

Sean R. on December 28, 2011 at 2:47 pm

@Sean R.: actually, critical thinking led me out of the usual Republican party-line politics to Ron Paul. As for Debbie’s quote, I read her post, and no intellectually honest person can read it and NOT see it as a call for anything BUT the violent eradication of all the members of a particular religion, regardless of what half-hearted attempt at a “disclaimer” she made. Shameful that someone whose co-religionists were nearly eradicated from Europe less than a century ago would call for the same all over again.

But, pearls before swine. Enjoy wallowing in your own filth while those of us who care about the country elect Dr. Paul as the next president of this great country. 🙂

Observer on December 29, 2011 at 1:15 pm

It seems like over the last 100 years (maybe longer), there have been forces trying to get our country involved in all the world’s conflicts thereby destroying it one piece at a time! First we had WWI, which paved the way for subsequent conflicts; not the least of which was WWII. Of course both Woodrow Wilson and Louis Brandeis are largely to blame for our involvement in this.

Ever since the creation of the Zionist state, that area has gained less stability as time has gone on. What’s worse is that they ask the United States to fork over three BILLION dollars each year to protect their rear ends each year! The amount that we send each year to them (and everyone else who asks for it), is less money that gets put into the American economy thereby bankrupting us a piece at a time! It is also less money and infrastructure that we have to protect our citizens her in the USA! Not the least of which is maintaining the integrity of our borders!

I say it’s time for Israel and all our other foreign aid recipients to get off of defense welfare and take charge of defending themselves. We CAN NOT afford to be the world’s policeman!

Many claim that the Zionist state is an ally. Well, if they were truly an ally, they wouldn’t have bombed our Liberty back in 1967 killing thirty-four of our sailors and injuring hundreds more. They also wouldn’t have lured us into a war with Lebanon back in 1982-4 that lead to the deaths of at least
241 of our troops. The list goes on from there.

Everyone deplores the fact that apartheid was alive and well in South Africa for decades. If apartheid was so bad in South Africa, why does the United States still continue to fund Israel even as they continue to treat the indigenous people there as second or third class citizens? If you think about it, blacks in South Africa probably had it better than the indigenous people have it in Israel, East Palestine (i.e. the West Bank) and Gaza! Mind you, I’m not condoning the oppressive dictates of South Africa’s apartheid policies. What they did to those people was abhorrent! I’m just pointing out the facts and putting things into perspective!

Ever since ‘the Tea Party’ got its start, I’ve noticed many factions to it. Those separate factions don’t seem to want to work together. What’s worse is that with the exception of libertarians and MAYBE staunch constructionists, the movement seems more interested in replacing one form of tyranny with another. We must realize that so long as we have a country called the United States of America, we must lean to live together and accept each other for each others differences. Our country does not exclusively belong to conservatives; nor does it belong to liberals either. If you were to ask me, I say the definitions of those two terms are benign at best. The war on drugs, consensual sexual activities, gambling, ‘illicit’ literature and the like is no different than the war on guns, the freedom of worship and so forth.

I cannot go any further without talking about what has become a hot-button issue for the last 40 years or so: abortion. Many so-called conservatives say that this is an abomination that must be stopped at all costs. While I feel it is an issue which should be avoided, I also must conclude that we can NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to the days pre-R v.W (or pre-legal abortion in Alaska Hawaii, New York and Washington state) without dire consequences! I DEFY ANYONE to tell me that back alley (coat hanger) abortions and deaths were rare in the old days! If you are serious about stopping abortion, AND I MEAN SERIOUS; you can, you must and you will provide people with the necessary information and means for them to use preventative means (birth control, etc.) necessary to help stop the issue from ever arising. You must also simplify the adoption process so that should for the matter ever come up, the issue can be handled with the least amount of drama possible. You won’t ever be able to get rid of all abortions, but the number can be drastically reduced! While I believe that Europe has many issues such as socialism which are bringing it to its knees, one area where they DO have one up on us is that they are willing to deal with sex matters more openly than we are here. There is less sexual dysfunction, the RATE – not the actual number mind you, but the RATE – of teen pregnancies and abortions is far less than what it is here in the states. Their youth are as sexually active as we are, if not more so.

I must give a few TRUE free market activists much credit for going right into the den of lions at some of these Occupy Wall Street rallies proclaiming what a true free market is really all about! I must give a shout out to a young Chris Savvinidis (go look him up) in New York for having the guts to do just this. In order to promote a true free market in America today, we must understand that corporate welfare and corporatism are liabilities and not part of how a free market operates!

Ron Paul is the only Republican who is doing what is necessary to get our country back to where it needs to be. I cannot emphasize enough for his support!

Tony on December 29, 2011 at 10:02 pm

I think the greatest thing about Ron Paul supportors is the pretentious way they always call him “Dr. Paul.” What a clever device to make someone who’s bat@$!@ crazy look like a respectable option for the highest office in the land.

Of course, they don’t call Michele Bachmann “Congresswoman Bachmann” or offer titles to anyone else, just “Dr. Paul.” I always imagine the entire lot of Paulbots in a giant ballroom, sipping martinis and talking like Thurston Howell III from Gilligan’s Island.

But none of that matters. What DOES matter is that Debbie is right – Ron Paul is a nutcase of the highest order, and if you people who think he’s such a brilliant constitutionalist can’t see past the facade by now, you’re too far gone for help. Sure, he has some views that make sense, but as the old saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I know it hurts to find out that “your guy” is crazy. Believe me, tons of Michael Jackson fans went through the same thing you’re going through. But at some point you have to face the music and stop throwing your support at someone who turns out to be a whack-job. People who voted for Obama had this revelation too, but like you Paulnuts, there are plenty of people who still can’t see past their bad decision and just refuse to take responsibility for their part in electing a man-child to do an adult’s job.

Don’t be like those people. Grow a pair and move on. The other choices may not be the best ever, but a vote for Paul is basically a vote for Obama. The only difference is Paul hates Israel a TINY bit more. On the other hand, Obama hates America more than he hates Israel, so it’s about a tie.

Wise up. It may be America’s last chance to recover.

Brian on December 30, 2011 at 12:38 am

This person is lying and CRAZY! Ron Paul is a godly man who loves Israel but doesn’t want to control it!!!! Netanyahu doesn’t want our help, he said it himself!!! You all need to read “Liberty Defined”. Paul understands the Constitution and has obeyed the Constitution better than any person in the race or in the country! You all deserve what you will get if you vote for anyone but Ron Paul. None of you understand that all of the candidates except Ron Paul is the establishment and no matter who you vote for, you will get another OBAMA!!! You idiots!

Karen on December 30, 2011 at 7:41 am

I’ve studied and heard both sides of this argument for months and I’ve come to the conclusion that Debbie is right. I don’t believe Ron Paul understands the Constitution. I think he uses it as a foil. I think he believes in certain parts of it but ignores the history and context of the founders. Madison formed the 2nd Bank of the U.S. without supposed Constitutional authority yet he knew the Constitution better than anyone. I’ve regularly found the “anti-bank” website and RP videos and comments to be largely deceptive and seriously uninformed about U.S. history.

I think RP’s views against the War on Drugs and Prostitution are infantile. You can’t make drugs and prostitution a State’s Rights issue. Anybody can see that. You’d just end up with interstate enjorcement issues.

It’s also unprincipled to say that because something is difficult that it should be abandoned. That’s RP’s position. Drug was is tough? give up. Terrorism is difficult to fight? Give up. Israel has a lot of enemies? Abandon it. These aren’t the actions of a principled person.

I also find it extremely telling that to RP supporters everything boils down to a conspiracy. If you talk to an RP supporter who is like a dog on a bone and holds RP up as some sort of Angelic Leader you know that behind all that they really just believe 9/11 was really done by George Bush and that the Luminati control the world. It’s childlike to me.

I’ve also noticed that RP supporters are some of the most violent and profanity laden people that post anywhere. I’ve begun to wonder how much extreme muslim support for RP is behind his internet presence. It just stands to reason that the P.R. campaign against American involvement in the Middle East would be funded by radical muslims.

I find the comments by Eric Dondero to be completely credible based on the other things I’ve seen from Ron Paul.

Finally – the excuse of avoiding Blowback as a foreign policy is the most childish, unprincipled notion I’ve ever heard. Yes, Blowback is a reality. It’s also not a reason to avoid any decision based on principle. If you let your enemies decide your foreign policy by their reactions, then you’ve lost all power. It’s seems amazing that any thinking person would buy into that.

Also, I’ve never met an RP supporter who doesn’t run away from RP’s lack of support from WW2. They all like to deny that despite all the evidence.

Since when is thinking that the artificial creation of a nation against the wishes of the rest of the region is a bad idea, make someone anti-semitic? Since when does thinking that the USA doesn’t have to get involved in every conflict on the planet un-American? And since when does thinking that people get pissed when you force them to do things a dumb idea?

To everyone who hates Ron Paul for saying we may have caused 9/11, if you went into someone’s backyard frequently and threw a rocks through their windows, you think they’d be pissed?

in regards to the war on drugs, its not that he thinks its too difficult, its that there are 40 years of evidence now that show that the war on drugs has actually resulted in an increase in drug use across the board. There is also evidence that suggests that by regulating drugs, it actually reduces the use of hard drugs across the population, and all drugs among youths. These tests are based on statistics from states that have approved medical and from nations that have fully legalized already (Portugal)
