“They’re All Gone”: Where Have We Heard That Before? Mumbai 2008 is Munich 1972 for Murdered Jewish Hostages

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
Baruch Dayan Ha’Emet–Blessed is the True Judge/the Judge of Truth.
That is the phrase we Jews say when we inform others in our community that a fellow Jew has died. We say it because even though we are very sad that the person died, we know that only G-d–the True Judge/Judge of Truth–knows what is in his plan and can decide our proper, ultimate destiny.
It is very tragic and sad to read and hear reports coming out of Mumbai, India that Islamic terrorists murdered all of the Jewish hostages taken at the Lubavitch Chabad House–a center of Orthodox Jewry. Five dead bodies were found as Indian authorities finally took control of the Chabad House.
That Was Then . . .

This Is Now . . .
islamiccrescent.jpgchabadmumbai.jpg

Mumbai Chabad During Islamic Terrorist Hostage Siege, 2008

Just like in Munich in 1972, the Indian government let things go on too long before they made even the first (unsuccessful) attempt to storm the Chabad House. Tragically, the Jewish hostages, targeted and taken only because they were Jews, met the same fate as their co-religionists in Munich. We will never learn. Whether it is the incompetent German police then, or the incompetent Indian ones in the last couple of days, they treat Islam and terrorists with kid gloves. Yes, India is far tougher on Muslims than we are. But still not enough.
While India was tougher than anyone against Somalian Islamic terrorists a/k/a “pirates”, the country was meek on its own soil. It’s disappointing that a country headed by a Sikh–who must surely have learned something from decades of Muslim attacks on Sikhs (and Hindus)–does not crack down sufficiently on his country’s Muslim population. At one time, Islam was a much smaller percentage of the Indian populus. Now, it is 10-15 percent and growing–so it matters not whether or not these terrorists were homegrown or snuck in from Pakistan. India has its fair share of Islamic terrorism supporters, such that tennis player Sania Mirza canceled her doubles partnership with Israeli Shahar Pe’er, lest she offend Muslims by playing alongside a Jew.
And now, it may be too late to crack down on Islam in India. But surely, there should have been swift stormtrooping on the Jewish center. Yes, some may have died. But now, all of them have been murdered.
Just like in Munich.
The Munich Olympians and the Mumbai Chabadniks had little in commmon. Most of the Israeli athletes were secular Jews. The Mumbai hostages were devout Jews. But that didn’t matter to the Muslim one-drop rule. They were all Jews. And therefore, they were deemed less than human and slaughtered at the hands of Islamic murderers.
And by the same token, it makes no difference whether or not the Mumbai terrorist were from Al-Qaeda. The Munich terrorists were from Black September, a P.L.O. group. But, whether in 1972 or 2008, they all have one thing in common: Islam. So, now Black September (though not named for the month in which they did, in fact, slaughter the Jewish athletes, but the month in which the Hachemite King Hussein slaughtered Palestinian Muslims led by Arafat) is Black November.
The Bible was so right when it said, in Genesis, that Ishmael (and his descendants) would be wild asses of men and live lives of “manlike wilding.” They continue to show us on a daily basis their wild savagery against innocents around the world.
And yet, the organized Jewish community continues to embrace these people and speak of them as a “religion of peace” and about how “hijackers hijacked the religion.” I suppose now, we are supposed to say that “hostage takers and murderers took hostage-took and murdered the religion.”
Whatever. We know that these never-ending acts of violence and bloodshed are not accidents of a few who “don’t represent Islam.” NO, they are the actions of those who represent the epitome of Islam and whose actions are already being cheered on the Islamic street around the world.
A word about Chabad Lubavitch, some of which repeats what I’ve already said on this site over the last few days. But it bears repeating.
Chabad House is a project of the Lubavitch sect of Chassidic Jews, known as Lubavitchers. They are known for their kindness and charitable works to Jews and non-Jews. They make it easier for Jews to practice our religion in the most remote of locales, such as Mumbai and other locations far more exotic and/or deadly and depressing. As I’ve noted before, I have a special place in my heart for the Lubavitcher Chassidim because they went out of their way to help make it easy for me to practice my religion when I was in college and grad school.
Lubavitch Chabad, over the years, has cared for AIDS-stricken homeless non-Jews and given them shelter and food. Yesterday, they provided a free (kosher) Thanksgiving dinner to almost 1,000 indigent, non-Jewish Los Angeles residents at a party for them at the Hard Rock Cafe. Since Judaism is not a proselytizing religion–in fact, we discourage conversion to our religion–there is no ulterior motive. There never is with Chabad. They really are saintly people. They epitomize the word, “mensch.”
Chabadniks a/k/a Lubavitchers are not “holy rollers”. Even though they are devout, they are not heavy-handed or judgmental and do not wear their religion on their sleeves. I have so many Lubavitch friends and have had several as teachers. They all have one thing in common–their eternal optimism, hearty spirit, and generosity and kindness without ever asking for anything in return. Most of them are people of little financial means. They do their work out of a sense of doing right and doing good and helping not just their fellow Jew, but their fellow American.
And one other thing: They are not “ULTRA-Orthodox Jews”, the derogatory term that has been used by the mainstream media (including ABC News’ Jon Berman) to describe them from the minute of the hostage-taking, and a term that is always used to describe all Orthodox Jews. There are never just “Orthodox Jews” in the media. Just “Ultra-Orthodox Jews.” Hmmm . . . Why don’t they ever describe the real “ultras”–Muslims–as “ultra-fundamentalist Muslims”?
In fact, Chabad Lubavitch is not only at the mainstream heart of Orthodox Jewry, because of birthrate and non-intermarriage, by the year 2076 (the TriCentennial), they will be the most dominant force in what is left of Judaism in America and many other places.
I mourn the deaths of these poor people, whose lives were untimely taken only because they were Jews. And I pray for their families.
It is ironic that, yesterday, as we were celebrating Thanksgiving, they were being murdered. Blessed be their memories, and may their souls have a special place in the next world.
Their late leader, the great Lubavitcher Rebbe (Rabbi) Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of Blessed Memory, made this 1986 speech about Thanksgiving and his respect for the Founding Fathers. I posted it yesterday, and I repeat it here:

The foundation of this nation was laid by the Founding Fathers, who after coming to this country proclaimed a holiday of Thanksgiving to G-d, Creator and Director of the world, for having saved them and bringing them to a secure land where they could live free of oppression and decrees–to live as they see fit, beginning from practicing their faith in G-d as Creator and Director of the world, in their own times, in their own lives, and their own rescues. They even established it as a law that every year on that day, it must be remembered again, to thank G-d from the depths of our hearts, for having shown them His kindness openly.
It has been established even for non-believers–who in their hearts believe as well, but for whatever reason, boast that they do not believe, or they believe that G-d is far away, somewhere in the Seventh Heaven. But even they know that when a matter affects them seriously, they pray to the Superbeing, to G-d, for help. And certainly, they participate in the Thanksgiving celebration for the founding of this nation by the first gentiles who arrived here.
. . . [A]lthough there were Jews among them, the majority, who established Thanksgiving, were non-Jews. This faith has been celebrated from generation to generation, including our own generation. . . .
[T]he Founders began their life in this country by thanking G-d. . . . This is the foundation of this country, to save the righteous from the hands of evil.

lubavitcherrabbi.jpg

The Late Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem M. Schneerson, of Blessed Memory

Well, we may soon be unable to save the righteous from the hands of evil, just like in India, because Islam is gaining strength here that is irreversible.
May G-d give us strength to finally recognize that our enemy is Islam. And that it will never give us peace. Only take it away, along with our lives, like it did to Jewish hostages in Mumbai in 2008 and in Munich in 1972 and at many other times and occasions before and in between those dates.
And it will continue to do so, until we stop it.
We’ve come full circle from the Munich Massacre to the Mumbai Massacre, with a lot more to come because we’ve done nothing in the West to push Islam out.

They’re all gone.

**** UPDATE: My friend Rabbi Shea Hecht, a prominent leader in the Chabad Lubavitch movement and head of the National Council for the Furtherance of Jewish Education, released this statement:

Tragedy in Mumbai
Statement by NCFJE Chair, Rabbi Shea Hecht

The leaders of the free world must strengthen their resolve to pursue and eradicate terrorist groups like the one that committed the horrible massacre in Mumbai. The world has learned from years bitter experience that a lack of resolve and organization in this fight is paid for in the lives of innocents.
As a 5th generation American, I call first upon my President, George W. Bush and to the President-Elect Barak Obama to aggressively pursue this objective.
Our communities throughout the world are experiencing a profound sense of grief. Over the past two days, we united in pouring out our prayers on behalf of Rabbi and Mrs. Holtzberg, their companions and their families. That the millions of prayers and acts of charity that were undertaken on their behalf should go unanswered is terribly painful. At the same time, we must pause to thank G-d for sparing Moshe Holtzberg.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask everyone who was touched by this tragedy to continue to increase in acts of charity in the merit of those who were murdered.

AMEN.

I don’t think India has been as soft on Islamists as you do. In fact, they were going to go into Pakistan in 2003 and kick some *ss until George Bush got Musharef to agree to a bunch of concessions.
If this can be pinned on Pakistan (and everything I am hearing points that way) I think Pakistan is about to get leveled.
[IAM: YES AND NO. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY HOMEGROWN TERRORIST ATTACKS IN INDIA OVER RECENT MONTHS. THAT SAID, INDIA IS TOUGHER THAN WE ARE. BUT NOT TOUGH ENOUGH. DS]

When I read that the Lubavitch Chabad House had been taken hostage (from you; the media didn’t mention it), I knew how it was going to turn out.
Horrendous.
Resquiat in pace to the dead. Thank G-d little Moshe survived, and blessings to the nanny who saved him.

Debbi,
I cannot agree more. I hope our people “Wake-up” to the growing threat not just in the Middle East but here at home in the USA. The signs are all around us. We just need to take notice. My teenage daughter has recently been threatened at school by a skinhead. When a friend had several swastikas keyed into his car and his tires sliced, the police said they had never heard of or seen a swastika. Its all around us and increasing daily. We need to “Wake Up.”

Islam is the religion of hate and destruction. Anyone that even attempts to convince any differently is lying through their teeth.
I say round up ALL Islamists here in America, then deport them to one part of the world and keep them there. Islam will never change, nor should Westerners be EVER forced to give into Islamofacists.

HASHEM YINKOM DAMOM! “May G-d avenge their blood!”
Ishmael is a “Perah Adam” and his “religion” (cult) of Islam is evil. This latest display of their unbridled madness is yet one more in the all too many proofs we now have of that.
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/
As Rabbi Manis Friedman says, “If something is evil in the extreme, it was bad to begin with.”
And Islam, in it’s extreme, is PURE EVIL! It must, and will, be destroyed.
http://www.chabad.org/multimedia/media_cdo/aid/668896/jewish/Whos-Protecting-America.htm
As to it’s adherents. The ones who aren’t the antisocial scum that it selects for are slaves of the madmen. The destruction of Islam will liberate them. May G-d hasten it, for the sake of the decent among them who don’t know any better.
I repeat, though most Muslims would probably be peaceful if freed from slavery to their cult, Islam itself is not a “great tradition” and it is not a “religion of peace.” ISLAM IS EVIL!

The CNN IBN Live Streaming news has never once, in the two last days when I have watched it, mentioned the words ‘Islam’ or ‘Muslim’. Are the Indians afraid to call it for what it is?

I’m sick to my stomach reading this. India is one place that has never known anti-Semitism, since neither Judaism nor Hinduism try to convert non-believers.
The only silver lining is that the 2 year old son of the rabbi had been rescued yesterday and is now re-united with his grandparents.
As for India, the secular party – the Congress – is the one in power now, and has always had the policy of appeasing Mohammedans: in fact, they pander to them for votes the same way Obama does. The Hindu party – the BJP – doesn’t, which means that they have to contest elections with only 85% of the electorate, which is quite a handicap to start with. It was the previous BJP led coalition that cracked down on jihad hard enough that Mohammedans didn’t try much: the anti-terror laws in place were withdrawn when the BJP lost power in 2004. Since then, India has had plenty of jihad attacks.
However, I do have one correction to make Debbie. The Jews there were killed because they were Infidels, as were the Americans and Brits in the 2 hotels, and as were the 100+ Hindus who were killed the last 2 days in the rampage. In one of the hotels, a Turkish couple were freed by the jihadis because they were Mohammedans.
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/023695.php
In the eyes of the Mohammedans, the only people who deserve to live are other Mohammedans. Others – be they Jew, Hindu, Christian, Zoroastrian, all are fair game.

Infidel Pride on November 28, 2008 at 2:09 pm

“In the eyes of the Mohammedans, the only people who deserve to live are other Mohammedans.” — Infadel Pride
They don’t even care about them. The only reason they let them go was because they want to get other Muslims on their side, which they couldn’t do when Al Qaeda went slaughtering Muslims in Iraq. That’s the only reason they let them go.
It’s just a part of their big lie, because virtually everything about them is a lie. The only truly “good” Muslims are that way not because of, but IN SPITE of, their “religion” (death cult).
But, you are absolutely right that this is the price of appeasement. How much more will it take for people to realize it doesn’t work?

yonason on November 28, 2008 at 2:49 pm

The Indians did what Israelis refused to do: fight terrorists. I was sick to my stomach reading media reports of the same country that meekly surrendered to Hezbollah this summer criticizing India’s use of force to try to free the hostages. If only Israel had encouraged India to try using force even earlier, perhaps all or some of those dead Jews would alive right now. I kept saying to no avail over the last day or two the only way to deal with evil is to destroy it. The Muslim terrorists sought out and murdered Jews for a reason. And until Jews understand they are the enemy – more Jews will die – like in Munich in 1972 and 2008 in Mumbai. Someone has to stand up to Islam. And to the paganism in America that’s encouraging its cancerous spread.

NormanF on November 28, 2008 at 2:50 pm

Yes, there is an ulterior motive, and yes there is judgment. Fallen Jews – like so many of the Leftists and Zionists who have driven this country into the ground – have no right to hide behind the good name of the real Jews, who really practice Judaism.
May their blood be avenged.

Moshiak on November 28, 2008 at 3:00 pm

This is truly sad that Americans, the West, Jews, and Indians are all targeted again for just being. This is a reminder to those who are in denial that Islam is a truly evil force with world domination as their ends. However the left will blame us as the reason for terrorism. The other night on CNN “Deep Throat”…err Deepak Chopra, the liberal spiritual advisor for MT. HOprah blames us for all the ills of the Muslims and we are the cause of the latest evil episode of Muslim fanaticism. Oh, I guess COBRAMA might feel the same way MT. HOprah feels about Chopra. Chopra calls on COBRAMA not to continue our war on terrorism. I guess this is what Joe Biden was talking about behind closed doors about COBRAMA being tested and America not liking his response. The liberals see no evil in Muslims who attacked us but sees evil in those innocent victims whose world was turned upside down and now want justice.

Here’s hoping the Hindus will go on a rampage and “take care of business”. The Muslims demanded and got their own country in 1946 (?), Pakistan and East Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh. A premptive message to Kashmir wouldn’t hurt, either.

ObamaSlammaJamma on November 28, 2008 at 6:58 pm

Very upsetting news! I hoped that the other Jews would be free, particularly since the kid was freed. My hopes were too high.
I’m an Indian and a Christian living in Washington D.C. And, like other Indian Christians, I’m pro-Israel.
Jews have lived in India for centuries now and they are very peaceful people and patriotic. Those who didn’t leave for Israel in 1948 are in the Indian army and others have small businesses.
Moslems have been creating problems all along, beginning with the Turkish, Persians and Arabs who abused our hospitality and imposed their cult on us. The terrorists you see today in India are not just paki, many are homegrown… thats how they succeed each time.
Israel has offered to help India many times, and India has stubbornly refused. Even during the time the Indian plane to Kandahar was hijacked, Israel offered to help the Indian army with its strategy. The ever-stupid Indian government refused… because of fear that the 12% moslems wouldn’t vote for them if they took Israel’s help.
All the Indian governments (the right-wing BJP and the moslem-pandering Congress and the leftist governments are equally responsible for what has happened so far. In the 8 years the BJP was in power, they did nothing either. Right-wing or marxist, they are all the same when it comes to India’s security — RETARDED!
If the stupid PM had sent in the very efficient Indian army at the very start, many lives could have been saved. But they chose to delay till the last minute, and in the process, caused a lot of innocent bloodshed.
May God bless the souls and families of all the 160+ victims of the brutal moslem murder.

The ignorance here concerning Muslim, Hindu and Sikh relations is amazing.
[It’s disappointing that a country headed by a Sikh–who must surely have learned something from decades of Muslim attacks on Sikhs (and Hindus)–does not crack down sufficiently on his country’s Muslim population.]
Because he knows that Hindus have killed Muslims and Sikhs and CHRISTIANS! And that Sikhs have killed Hindus. Sikhs killed Indira Gandhi because of the raid on Sikh separatists in a Sikh temple in the Punjab region.
It’s not about being PC, it’s about strategy and consequences.

The AP also referred to Chabad as ultra-Orthodox, as if this made them strange or quaint. The unspoken implication is that somehow their strangeness may have ‘antagonized’ the terrorists, and maybe Chabad brought this on themselves. A little like the 9/11 conspiracy theorists here.
The mainstream press is more anti-Semitic now than it was in the 30s, and the response from the US and European countries is anemic at best.

c f on November 28, 2008 at 9:29 pm

And the passivity of the organized Jewish community makes it politically easier for anti-semites like the mainstream media and most leading US and European politicians to refrain from playing an active role in combatting anti-Semitism and terrorism. I hope that the US visits to India now are not designed to pressure the Indians to appease the terrorists.

c f on November 28, 2008 at 9:39 pm

I shall pray for all of those who have been murdered.
I shall also pray that the West wakes up in time to the true nature of the threat.
If we don’t shake off the PC disease sometime soon, the world will not be recognizable.

Norman Blitzer:
Its *your* ignorance thats amazing… or rather sly and cunning comments thats *not* too amazing.
If not for Sikhs in the 1600’s, the whole of India would be repeating alla-who-akbar today. They not only fought against the moslem invaders, they also protected our civilization from being wiped out. Remember the Buddhist structures in Afghanistan that got wiped out by the taliban? Yes, moslems have done it in the past and Nadir Shah who conquered Delhi even tried to rewrite history by destroying our ancient historical records.
I grew up in India and every Indian knows the contribution made by the Sikhs in India’s history. More recently, the second war between India and pakistan was won because of the 120 poorly armed but brave Indian soldiers, mostly Punjabi/Sikh who fought against thousands of paki soldiers who were on their way to Delhi with heavily armored tanks.
Yes, it is disappointing that a Sikh leader doesn’t have balls to act against terrorists representing the enemy to his community for centuries. Its even more disappointing that this Sikh leader is highly educated and there’s a section of Economics named after him, yet doesn’t have the brains or sense to act as needed. How many more people should die because of his silence and “condemnations of the external power”? We already have evidence that some of the dead moslem terrorists belong to the Lakshar-e-toiba.
Blitzer, you are so retarded that you claim “Hindus have killed Muslims and Sikhs and CHRISTIANS”. How is it you never talk about mozlems in the same bracket whenever the moslem animals commit murders every single day? Is your generalization only reserved for America and other non-mozzlem countries?
I’m a Christian, and I can say that your statement is absolute BS. Yes, our former prime minister Indira Gandhi had several Sikhs killed, and some of the Sikhs retaliated by assassinating her. But how were those Sikh assassins rewarded? One of them upon being freed after serving several years in prison thought that he would get a hero’s welcome in his village. Instead, he was shunned by everybody; his own parents didn’t even want to see his face for disgracing the Sikh community. Apply this scenario in a moslem environment. They’d all be celebrating “death to the infidel, long live our terrorism and alla-who-akbar”.
Christians have been killed in India, but NOT by “Hindus” as you labeled them. They’ve been killed by the extremist BJP, VHP, RSS and other right-wing groups that most people dislike. Its *never* been a case of a major community (Hindus) against a minority community (Christians or others).
Normal Blitzer, I know you’re stupid and a sly liar. You also like to play the divide-and-rule game by mentioning incidents where minorities have been affected to buttress your “argument”. You’ve done it in the past as well. Too bad it won’t work with all people. Try other websites.

In other news from a local newspaper, 30 Jewish families from a city in my state Andhra Pradesh are on the mozlem terrorist hitlist.
Please remember them in your prayers and do pray for their safety. They are being targeted for the sole reason that they are Jews — it doesn’t matter that they have been Indians for centuries. It doesn’t matter that their ancestors may have migrated to India from Israel hundreds or even thousands of years ago. They are hated by the mozlems who will see nothing less than their total elimination.

Chebrolu Jews given security
Hyderabad, Nov. 28: Following the Mumbai terror attacks, police has increased security for about 30 Jewish families in a little known village in Guntur. These families, who live at Kothareddypalem near Chebrolu, are on the hit list of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba. This was revealed when a module was busted in Hyderabad in 2004.
In Mumbai, terrorists had targeted Nariman House, where Jewish families from Israel were staying. This has persuaded police to increase patrolling in Chebrolu too. “There are around 200 Jews in the villages,” said the Guntur superintendent of police, Mr Mahesh Chandra Laddah. “We have kept a constant watch on the area and have intensified patrolling.” The Police has also stepped up intelligence network in the area which is 20-km away from Guntur. Most of the families are poor. “We are not going into their claims that they are Jewish,” said a senior police officer. “But the terror groups are under impression that they are Jews.
After in Nariman House attack, it is clear that the terrorists are trying to target Jews.” The Guntur police is also planning to hire speedboats to patrol the coast in the wake of the developments in Mumbai, where terrorists came in from the sea.

as an absolute qualifier for all who seek the office of President of the United States.
Do not let this keep happening to us all!
We must not take our focus off of the illegal election and OBAMA! This is the final stand ladies & gentlemen if Obama is elected by the electoral college it is the end of the Constitution and the USA .

Debbie, like you I’m a fan of Chabad. They all seem unusually good natured and I wish I could really hang out with them. But going after terror groups is what we’ve been doing for years and it’s not going to work. The guiding hands in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, etc. aren’t too bothered by our efforts, and see little downside to supporting terror groups that belong to no one.

For reasons I cannot think of, I believe the Indian government is making up some of the information about this.
I find it very hard to believe that this was carried out by only 10 terrorists (and I am not referring to those who helped train, prepare and provide logistical support to the terrorists before they got to Mumbai – I am referring to the number of armed terrorists who were actually in Mumbai).
Are we supposed to believe that 10 terrorists held off the Indian military and law enforcement for almost three days?

Am in the midst of the Mumbai massacar. What stings me (A Hindu) is that the media misses the murder of the entire Jewish family, thus missing on the important JIHDI link. For my part, am trying to post this point, wherever I can. Wish me luck.

Debbie,
Gateway Pundit & JihadWatch are reporting that the bodies of Jewish Mumbai victims bore signs of bondage and torture. No where in the MSM or cable is this being reported.
This must be brought to the fore instead of the Paki Govt advice “do not overreact.”

CapitalistGig:
They were tortured brutally. The Chabad murder victims were tortured the most. Here are excerpts from an Indian newspaper:
—-
The other doctor, who had also conducted the post-mortem of the victims, said: “Of all the bodies, the Israeli victims bore the maximum torture marks. It was clear that they were killed on the 26th itself. It was obvious that they were tied up and tortured before they were killed. It was so bad that I do not want to go over the details even in my head again,” he said.

ABC news reports that Muslims around the world are worried that Mumbai will tarnish their image.
That makes about as much sense as Eva Braun worrying about her suntan.
We must do everything we can to document and widely publish Muslim atrocities in the finest detail possible. We must wave the bloody clothes of the victims literally in the faces of the Islamo-loving liberal press.
We must “never forget.”

[DINESH D’SOUZA IS AN APOLOGIST FOR ISLAM. HE SAYS AL-QAEDA IS RIGHT TO HATE US. HELLO . . .? DS]
Hello, Debs. That’s my point. D’Souza is an apologist for Islam as well as being a Christian from India.
Did you see the Simpsons today? It was about a Muslim family who moves into the neighborhood and Homer thinks they’re terrorists. I only caught the last 5 minutes of the show.

It struck me sometime ago as to why some people (almost all on the left, er excuse me, extreme left) kowtow to terrorists. They are truly afraid of them and hope that being ‘nice’ to them will spare them from any harm. They are truly fools and will never learn.
