Well said, Debbie. I am not depressed. In fact I am more inspired than ever. I am a firm believer that there is no longer any significant difference between the ONLY two parties that are allowed to participate in national elections. I am a card carrying Libertarian. Though not perfect, the LP offers a real alternative and hope for a multiparty political system in the USA. Bob Barr was a terrible candidate for President and received less than 1% of the vote. But here in Texas many honorable Libertarians received more than 10% of the vote.
The Libertarian Party is America’s third largest and fastest growing political party. Libertarians engage in a variety of projects, working for everyone’s liberty on every issue.
The Libertarian Party was created in December of 1971 by people who realized that the politicians had strayed from America’s original libertarian foundation, with disastrous results. Debbie, she did help. Sarah Palin made the race closer than it was and articulated the conservative message. McCain would have been thumped with someone else on the ticket. To be fair, the MSM set her up and caricatured her and her views. And she’s a newcomer to national politics. But if she learns from this, she’s got a bright future. Alaska’s Governor is a decent woman and while she’s no intellectual, she believes in the same things most of us believe in. She gave the campaign her best but given everything this year, it wasn’t enough.

With the dems floating the idea of bringing back the fairness doctrine and applying it to the internet the left is going to move to shut down the opposition speech.
I would also not be surprised to see in the next 4-8 years restrictions on speech as are in Canada now.
It’s going to be a messy battle to save whats left of our free country.

First of all, HISTORY MY A$$. Yes we made history. History of the first Muslim in Chief. The self inflicted emasculation occurred. Our country chose to pick a SUGAR DADDY for it President. Smoooooooth Barry sweetalked his way into the most powerful position in the world. Without having to be qualified and disrespecting the the office of the presidency, he promised the country a fairy tale. The Snake Charmer, COBRAMA, charmed the media. The media gushed. Chris Matthews pitched a tent when he talked. The media’s wet dream came true and had is national orgasm last nite. It was NOT one of the greatest moments in our history but will be seen as the moment where the national electorate turned it back on the Constitution and wanted to “feeeeeel good”. Voters felt the GUILT that was oozing from the reporters and the media all campaign long. My god how many references to slavery and civil rights did I hear last nite? The way they were talkeing you you would’ve thought slaves were freed last nite? No I didnt feel GUILT ever in this campaign because I am not WEAK. GUILT makes WEAK people succomb to others their demands. The politics of victimization by race is dangerous to our Republic. Ethno self interests had it biggest win in this country’s history. Abolition, womens’ suffrage and the civil rights was about equality. The newsroom reported about the first Black Presidency. For the media being the first Black Presidency was greater than the Presidency itself. It didnt matter who the opponent was or what was best for the country this campaign since COBRAMA entered was about making him the first Black President. This was pornography for the media. Something they couldnt take their eyes off. There was nothing that was going to get between them and making COBRAMA the president. Hillary, talk radio, blogs, Ralph Nader, McCain, Palin or anyone else got mowed down. America was to be punished for its sins and the media was going to GUILT them toward voting for COBRAMA.
COBRAMA is the epitome of affirmitive action. He was not qualified to be president but used the media to battle all those who questioned his deficiencies. A precedent has been set, political correctness muzzled anyone who would question him. For Republicans they were too weak to make a challenge. Were there voices? Yes, but deep down the Republicans feared being called a bigot or intolerent. Who will challenge KING HUSSEIN COBRAMA?
Look what happens to Ralph Nader when someone questions whether COBRAMA will become an Uncle Tom to corporations? Fox News Shepard Smith uses his worst GUILT trip on Nader and for Nader sake it doesnt faze him. Right on Ralph!! Maybe conservatives can learn from Nader. Never compromise on these tactics. How many times has Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes, JC Watts, Condaleeza Rice or Colin Powell been called an Uncle Tom by liberal media?

Right on Debbie that is my choice for 2012. Bobbie Jindall!! Or Huckabee, Huckabee has the personality and eloquent speaker. Will deliver the Christian Vote. Something McCain couldnt access. The reason Bush won in 2000 and 2004 was the Church’s using its resources to get out the vote. Look at California, Obama wins by 24 points, yet gay marriage loses by 4 points in the most liberal state. A 28 point swing. Thanks to the churhes it won who held the line. Huckabee knows the network of pastors would have delivered Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Iowa. McCain had no ground game, that is what was Bush’s ground game the Church. Jindall is Catholic and person of color evens Obama minority status. He is Catholic and that is huge to Latino vote in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and Florida
I hear Palin may appoint herself as Senator if Alaska’s if Senator Stephens wins and resigns. Do us a favor Palin and stay in Alaska and take some classes on debating. Conservatives cannot keep constantly defending someone who cant carry their own water. The story of Palin is great but she is empty.

Also although I feel nauseous that he lost, not certain how effective a POTUS McCain could have been. He would have had a Pelosi House and Reid Senate and a Democratic media going for blood, blocking any constructive conservative initiatives. At best he would have been holding off liberalism as best he could but his mantra of ‘reaching across the aisle’ gives us an indication that he would be no Reagan. McCain probably would have been a one term “holding pattern” President anyway. As much as I do not trust her, I wish Hillary had won the Democratic nomination. I still would have voted GOP but I would not have felt so miserable today.

I do think it was a bad defeat for us. Anything is possible in the future, but I don’t see many bright spots on the horizon. In 1976, even though Carter won, Reagan was already on the national scene, and had been a contender for the nomination.
The closest we have right now to anyone who can connect with the issues important to us is Sarah Palin. I won’t minimize her defects — but in her defense she was placed in a tough position. A local political figure without significant experience picked to run against a charismatic candidate; her running mate, i.e. McCain was a big blah who agreed with the liberals on virtually everything.
With her present political stance I agree she would not be an attractive or successful candidate, but I still wouldn’t rule out that she is capable of showing some independent thinking. For instance, if she came out squarely against illegal immigration, and the bipartison appeasment foreign policy, she could become very attractive, in spite of her scripted and inadequate responses during the campaign.
Vitter might have been a possible if he hadn’t been running around with prostitutes, but there aren’t really very many Republican national figures who aren’t hacks.

Spend 5 minutes crying and then, let us get busy and throw our the trashy bunch in 2012. McCain was a RINO with no organizational skills and the Republican powers gave him no help. We’ve got the ability to start now and be sure and let the congress know that we ain’t happy. Whining and crying is not gonna do anything but ruin our day. It may be too late but I am gonna spend my days doing something about it. It may take another revolution but this government is gone.

I would really like Illeana Ross-Lehatin (R-FL) to run. Unfortunately she is not qualified since she was born in Cuba.
Does anyone know what kind of candidate Sue Myrick (R-NC) would make? She is great on the war on terror and Islamofacism in the US.
Additionally, she won re-election in the state where Dole lost big time (although Dole contributed to that herself).
I would also support Tom Tancredo, but with the “need” to have an “Affirmative Action” candidate, I believe Sue Myrick would be a great selection.

They shouldnt put all their stock in trade on Sarah Palin. I would really like to see Tom Tancredo, Mike Huckabee or Duncan Hunter run again in 2012. I feel like Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode III. The long darkness of the Galactic Empire before the dawn.

This is why “Expelled” by Ben Stein is such an important movie (I have the DVD).
