Debbie and everyone, with 2 days left we must get the word out on to anyone that Obama will “change” America forever. He is the renounciation of America. His followers are voting in a cult-like manner our generation has never seen before. His voters are NOT voting for what is best for America, however FOR OBAMA. He has the Media as his propaganda arm of his campaign. Dissent is being squashed by Obama and the Media.

I am a bit troubled by the above clip as it plays to outdated and primitive perceptions of tribalism. Sure, the video IS funny (and I may co-opt it for my blog as well) but the idea that one Black person is responsible for an entire race is lunacy. Can someone here answer this? No one confuses a gay White person from Chelsea, from a White Texas farmer or California surfer. I do not perceive Whites being held to the same behavior. Even as a conservative, I do not understand the notion that Sec. Powell should have been held to some insane racial standard when a number of White Republican notables (Christophers Hitchen & Buckley, Scott McClellan, etc) crossed party lines and did the same thing as Powell but Powell gets the “black fist” critique. We really need to mature the current political discourse. There are different TYPES of Black people: Black conservatives, liberals, southerners, northerners, straight, gay, Afro-Latins, Black Brits, poor, middle class, bi-racial…you name it and yet the Black man portrayed in the clip is supposed to behave because a Black man is running for president? He should behave because of basic morality NOT because of tribalism. Why this insistance on veiwing Blacks as a monolith? I don’t think Jeffrey Dahmer is representative of Whites-so why this inane double standard? Again, it’s the 21st century…STOP IT. It’s primitive.

Great post! Folks as far apart on the political spectrum as Squirrel3D and I have been trying to emphasize those same points on this site regarding the inherent unfairness and illogic (yes, I’m a fan of Mr. Spock!) of lumping all Black folks under the same banner.
Bit you’re right. The video clip still is funny…and an example of what we all wish we could do to a perpetrator if we ever got jacked!
