Drive-Thru Voting @ Mickey Ds: I Warned You About Early, Easy Voting

By Debbie Schlussel
I said it before. I’ll say it again. I’m opposed to early voting, which is rife with fraud potential and makes it easier for dummies and Spicolis to vote when they can’t even locate the next place to tattoo or pierce, er . . . mutilate. Oh, and guess who they’re all voting for? (The vast unwashed majority of them, anyway.)
Now, it’s gotten even worse. Drive-Thru early voting. Is this really what we want for America?
Do we really yearn to bring the movie “Idiocracy” to real life more and more on a daily, increasingly more rapid basis?
Apparently so:

SANTA ANA, Calif. – There were no burgers, car washes or lattes at this Orange County drive-through – just democracy.

More like, “just idiocy.”

Eager voters pulled their vehicles into the county registrar’s parking lot on Monday to either register or cast ballots at an electronic drive-through poll station.
The one-day-only offer came on the last day of voter registration for Californians. Only Orange County was offering the drive-through electronic voting service.
Some registrar offices across the state held late-night hours and set up drop boxes to receive voter registration forms before the midnight deadline. . . .
Although [Orange County Registrar Neal] Kelley said he believes the drive-through is the first one to use electronic voting, the concept of casting ballots from a driver’s seat is not new to California or the nation.
Sonoma County, for example, has long had a drive-up window where voters can drop paper ballots. A town in Vermont offered the same opportunity in 2006.
In Riverside County, voters can cast ballots this month from a roving “votemobile” that is traveling across the area.

Sorry, but voting is not like ordering a Big Mac. Not everyone who enjoys a Whopper should be enjoying easier and easier voting.
Do you really want more of these kinds of people choosing who will run the country?
If you do, you will continue to get candidates who more and more resemble President Camacho and his State of the Union address . . . (language alert)

Good luck, America . . . because luck may be the only thing that will save our country’s future. It certainly won’t be deliberate, conscious will.
So, would you like fries with that vote?

And of course drive=-by voting with its resulting decentralization makes monitoring for fraud harder for multiple reasons:
obviously on-site oversight of the voting process and disposition of ballots is more difficult, but also, a number of illegal voters from Acorn, who are being investigated in many states, will find it easier to slip through the cracks. Where is Jimmy Carter when we need him?

What’s next? The County Clerks will just fill out our ballots automatically based on our previous voting records?! Or maybe we can pay a fee of $80 to vote in the next 5 election cycles ahead of time! Why stop there: how about signing a document to sell your vote to a neighbor?!
Traditional voting is the best method, and it always has been.

Voting is meant to be a community event. So, efforts to make it ‘easier’ are meant to destroy the community. In theory early voting ‘seems’ to make sense and thus is so seductive. Similarily, electronic voting is meant to destroy the community. The proper way is to place your ‘mark’ on a piece of paper… no hanging chad.. no lost memory tapes.. the paper trail is supposed to exist.

bhparkman made the comment about county clerks filling out ballots… this is closer to the truth than anyone might like to believe. I’ve been reading about cases where indeed this does happen.
I read about a close election where electioneering boards in Florida were left to ‘Decipher the will of the voter’. This is a scary thing about electronic voting and other methods where there is a difficult historical record of a voters intent. In these cases it is left to the Electioneering committie to decide the winner.

First of all no ID check. This is California. You cant ask anyone for their ID. Second Santa Ana has more illegal aliens per capita than any large city in California. Remember Bob Dornan lost his seat to Loretta Sanchez. Massive “voter irregularites”? So what is to stop illegall alien or green card holders to register to vote and not be questioned? Hell Acorn shows how to false voter register and how many go through?
Would you like to upsize that vote? Yes I will take 20 votes for Obama and 20 for Gay Marriage.

BTW, McCain trailing badly in the polls this late must throw the kitchen sink this weekend or next weekend. Unfortunately as much as I hate poll numbers, however, they are usually are right and cant error by this much. A sitting senator must question Obama on his citizenship. McCain has shown his. Someone like Jeff Sessions of Alabama or Orrin Hatch of Utah. Wont lose in their states. They are safe Republican seats. The liberals will get mad for us anything, so what the hell? This man has never been questioned by anyone of importance. Force him to prove he is an American citizen. He refused to reply to the Berg lawsuit. McCain’s campaign is running on fumes at this point.

Debbie –
“Idiocracy” seems to have been inspired by a very old scifi story ‘The Marching Morons’ by C.M. Kornbluth, that has been a running joke among my high tech/rocket science compatriots for many years.
Find and read it…. follow with a sprinkle of Keith Laumer’s old ‘Retief – Galactic Diplomat’ series shorts.
….then YOU can post an article demonstrating that the DNC was the inspiration for the Groaci !

I remember hearing about that book about 14 years ago. Nerd I knew recommended it. Smart tough nerd, that saw this crap coming a long time ago.
That picture had to be the most primitive looking white guy who rolled up.

This whole election is a plot concocted by the socialists to overthrow capitalism and to put a half-black in the White House as a way to redeem themselves from the guilt of being called “racists.”
On the other hand, the black voters will vote for the half-black.
This election is about a veteran who truly and honestly puts country first and a socialist immature boy elevated to the rank of Messiah by the liberal-socialist media to fulfill their plot.
Racism. Socialism. Communism. Liberalism. Treason.
These are the key words that characterize John McCain’s opponents on the left.
Will you be safe under a Hussein administration?
Will you be living in a democracy when all branches of government will lack checks and balances?
Do you like to live in an authoritarian regime?
Say goodbye to freedom of speech, strong military, lower taxes and welcome to censorship, the fairness doctrine, higher taxes, weak military and treason.
I can go on and on.
Go vote you morons for Hussein.
Losers!
Hopefully, if you elect him, America can survive you and him.
