Leonard DiCrapio’s (No Typo) , Director Ridley Scott’s New Anti-American, Islamofascist Film; Devout Muslima Girlfriend

By Debbie Schlussel
You’ve probably already seen the TV trailers for “Body of Lies.”
The movie debuts in theaters in a couple of weeks (October 10th), and at least they got the title right. I haven’t screened it yet for review, but based on what I’ve read and based on the comments of writer/director Ridley Scott, that’s what this movie is: a Body of Lies. A Body of anti-American, sympathize-with-the-terrorists Lies.
Ridley Scott is a talented director. He is the man behind one of my favorite movies, the great “Blade Runner,” and a few other decent films.
But he is also the guy who made, “Kingdom of Heaven“–the Islamic propaganda film glorifying Saladin and lying about history.
Now, he’s yet again decided that making great movies gives you leeway to make horribly anti-American ones to “make up for it”:

Leonardo DiCrapio’s Muslima Girlfriend Golshifteh Farahani in “Body of Lies”

Based on the novel by Washington Post correspondent David Ignatius, Lies tells the story of two CIA agents, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe, searching for an Islamic terrorist. DiCaprio’s character takes a more sympathetic worldview as he travels the Mideast; Crowe’s character is a single-minded agent running the war from his laptop in suburban Washington, D.C.

Translation: Dicrapio’s “more sympathetic worldview” means he loves Muslims and isn’t so crazy about America–so he’s the hero. Crowes’ “single-mindedness” means that he actually gets it about Islam–so he’s the bad guy.

Scott pulls few punches in the film, in terms of both action and polemics. In one scene, a terrorist torturing an American says, “Welcome to Guantanamo.”
“Of course it’s a political film,” Scott says. Ignatius “has this great knowledge about what makes the Arab tick and what makes us tick, and how we misinterpret and underestimate each other.”
Scott says he wanted to make a film that is as morally conflicted as his views about the Iraq war.
“Should we have gone in?” he says. “No, I don’t think so. Are we going to get out soon? No. Now we’re up to our necks. To leave now would be terrible.”
[Scott] says that many of the earlier war-related films were “kind of jingoistic.”
Those movies intimate “that we are right and they are wrong,” Scott says. “No one’s ever totally right or wrong. What makes a difference is there are a lot of reality checks in this film.”

Wrong. Americans have shown–with the bombing of several such movies, “Lions for Lambs”, “In the Valley of Elah”, “Redacted”, “Rendition”, etc.–that they don’t buy this moral equivalency BS.
So sad that Ridley Scott didn’t get the message and has chosen to produce yet another anti-American, pro-Islamic terrorist film that will hopefully die at the box office.
If this movie–which sounds like a “Munich” clone–does succeed, it will probably be because of star power, not content and message.
FYI, in this movie, DiCrapio’s love interest is a devout Muslim in a hijab (Muslim headscarf). I guess Hollywood is trying to tell us something about who is hot and what is sexy. Don’t bother.
She is played by Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani–who proudly lives in Iran and is very protective of her extremist country and its Shi’ite Islamic extremism:

Farahani had insisted in her contract on wearing the Islamic headscarf or a wig in the film in order to respect Iran’s law, which requires every post-pubescent woman to cover hair and bodily contours in public.

In real life, DiCrapio’s girlfriend is far-left Israeli model and draft-dodger Bar Refaeli, who bragged about her draft-dodging.
Can’t decide which of his girlfriends–on-screen or real-life–I dislike more.

This chick couldn’t be too devout if she portrays a muslim bumping ugly with an infidel. That is a stoning offense – even if you are acting.

You have done yeoman’s work helping me to avoid spending money on movies that suck. I have saved thousands of dollars in money and wasted time, and what you do by going to these drekfests is a public service, and I am quite serious when I say this. You have shown how I, a hapless consumer, may punish Hollywood for their endless procession of treason and blasphemy, and I am really grateful to you for doing that. Other critics do not go into the kind of necessary analysis you go into when explaining the worthlessness of an anti-American film. That is why you shine so well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hey, I’ve been calling him DiCrapio for years!!!

I just looked at the muzzie female. There goes my breakfast.
I don’t go to any movies because Hollywood does nothing but promote the decay of our society thru entertainment.
Hollywood is satan’s publicist.

Debbie, the Islamofascist nutjobs at CAIR are labeling the distribution of “Obssession” DVD “a Zionist plot.” I guess they and Ahmedinejad are right. The Jews really do control the vertical, the horizontal and everything in between! In their alternative universe!

NormanF on September 25, 2008 at 2:46 pm

I take these reviews with a grain of salt. Debbie was totally wrong on ‘Redacted’.
As for your ‘KoH’ review on Saladin:
[Persecuted Jews and Christians, denying them even the basic dignity of riding on horses or mules, requiring they ride in humiliation on donkeys and painful pack saddles. Ôø?KingdomÔø? shows Saladin allowing them to ride on horses.]
I like how you lump Christians and Jews in for propaganda purposes. Saladin may have did a lot of bad things, but believe it or not, he was very respected by Christians and immortalized in many literary works by Christian writers. The historical fact is that until the birth of modern Israel, Christians didn’t give a damn about Jews when they weren’t spitting on them or cooking them:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_cru1.htm
[On the way to the Middle East, they decided that only one of their goals was to wrest control of Jerusalem from the Muslims. A secondary task was to rid the world of as many non-Christians as possible – both Muslims and Jews. The Crusaders gave the Jews two choices in their slogan: “Christ-killers, embrace the Cross or die!” 12,000 Jews in the Rhine Valley alone were killed as the first Crusade passed through. Some Jewish writers refer to these events as the “first holocaust.” Once the army reached Jerusalem and broke through the city walls, they slaughtered all the inhabitants that they could find (men, women, children, newborns). After locating about 6,000 Jews holed up in the synagogue, they set the building on fire; the Jews were burned alive. The Crusaders found that about 30,000 Muslims had fled to the al Aqsa Mosque. The Muslim were also slaughtered without mercy.]

Never liked Ridley Scott. His films…apart from Blade Runner….are all surface and gloss with no substance or depth. Gladiator was atrocious…over and obviously computerised, appalling acting from Mr Grunt Crowe and scenes set in Spain so clearly filmed in Tuscany. As for the rest, he’s another lily livered pampered ponce from the Left with an addled brain and a whole crock of ignorance. The guy stinks and this film is only going to reinforce the bottomless stupidity of the gormless multiculturalists and their obscene moral equivalence. Yuk!!!!

johndoe on September 25, 2008 at 5:27 pm

I, too, love Bladerunner. Nonetheless, my husband and I refuse to underwrite anti-American movies or actors. Any actor that has made blanket remarks about conservatives or “W” is logged in our mental black list, and that’s that. They get a pittance from us IF we happen to watch one of their movies on cable. Oh, for the days of John Wayne.

“Farahani had insisted in her contract on wearing the Islamic headscarf or a wig in the film in order to respect Iran’s law, which requires every post-pubescent woman to cover hair and bodily contours in public.”
Question Debbie…
Is it any different with the shiite muslim women than the sunni muslims in Saudi Arabia? I have read that merely talking in public with an infidel of the opposite sex who is not a blood relative is legal grounds under sharia law for stoning–let alone fornicating.
Thus, the whole premise of the movie is selling a bigger lie to the west–that such relationships happen in the open there. I recall reading last year about the hijab police in Iran also–the older muslim women who enforce the veiling law in Iran–arresting and fining/roughing up those women who dare to walk out in public without a head scarf.

Scott and decrapio should be asked one question.
WHERE DO YOU CHOOSE TO MAKE YOUR RESIDENCE?
WHY?
IF THE WEST HAS SUCH A PROBLEM THAT TERRORIST NEED TO BLOW US UP THEN CONTINUE TO MAKE SHITTY PRO ISLAMIC MOVIES. IF NOT, GET ON BOARD AND BEHAVE YOUR SELF!

What a disappointment. I’ve always counted Alien as one of the all-time great films. Blade Runner was great, also.

richardzowie on September 25, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Folks like Ridley will not grasp reality until their freaking head is being sawed off.

joesixpack31 on September 25, 2008 at 8:35 pm

joesixpack31: Even as they are slicing through his neck he will be asking ‘Why me?’ ‘What have I done to offend them?’ ‘Didn’t they see I was on their side?’ ‘This isn’t fair’

johndoe on September 26, 2008 at 6:53 am

My favorite Scott film is Blackhawk Down. That’s a movie that just tells the story and doesn’t waste time with any of this moral equivalency bull. I don’t know much about Ignatius. I’ll have to do some research and see what other left-wing garbage he has put out.

metal321 on September 26, 2008 at 6:58 am

Here’s a good post over at Newsbusters that shows just how biased Ignatius is:

joesixpack31 and johndoe, excellent points.
I’ve said it a million times, why Hollyweird is not in the forefront in the war against Muslim extremism shows what a sham liberalism is. It’s not about “concern for the little man”, it’s power and money.
As for DiCrapio, just another name on my must avoid list, along with Penn, Sarandon, Clooney, etc.
I’ve only seen one DiCrapio film, “Titanic”, and that was one of the most overrated films in history. Great epic scenes, but the story was total nonsense with all the silly class warfare, the poor people so “fun, nice, genuine” vs. the rich people who were portrayed as just totally selfish. Odd, with Cameron and all the rest rich beyond measure..but of course, like good libs, they are the “good” ones.

Jeff_W on September 26, 2008 at 8:43 am

Oh, BTW, I think this movie will be a moderate success at best.
The hate middle American lefty pinkos will see it, and the white bread “I watch “intelligent” movies to impress others” crowd.
But, as much as they try, most Americans seem smart enough to me not to buy the silly notions these movies try to foist on us.

Jeff_W on September 26, 2008 at 8:46 am

I’ll speak for my husband and echo the disappointment that the director of greats like “Blade Runner,” and “Alien” would end up in the America-hating movie-makers’ basement with so many of the others mentioned here, but if you’re looking for a terrific movie to support this weekend, go see Kirk Cameron’s “Fireproof.”
It is unapologetically Christian, so be forewarned – if that’s important for you to know up front…

If you guys wanted to complain about Ridley Scott and his new movie, you can take up your issue to his production company: http://www.rsafilms.com/t/scott-free/about-scott-free and contact their reps. Rant away.

Bobby's Brain on September 27, 2008 at 12:02 pm

Just because some movies like Syriana make money doesn’t mean that those stupid actors have viewpoints that are worth listening to.They go down and brown their noses by hind kissing Fidel Castro a man who murdered anywhere from 35000 to 141 000 from 1959 to 1987.They have no business doing that and the neext time they do they should just stay in Cuba because that is where they belong.
