HOprah Watch: Why It’s a Good Thing Oprah Won’t Allow Sarah Palin on Her Vapid Show

By Debbie Schlussel
It’s not shocking that after making Presidential candidates pander on her stupid new-age minstrel show for the last two Presidential campaigns, pan-Islamist Oprah has suddenly decided her show can’t be a forum for the Presidential election and won’t allow Sarah Palin to shine on her daytime talk-fest. After all, she’s been running non-stop re-runs of the Obama and Cosby kid appearances on her show, all summer long. And why help the opposition.
And here are a few video reasons why Sarah Palin might not want to go on the show, anyway–it’s a toss up between the first and second one regarding which is the funniest:

In the past, I’ve written about how I believe it’s unpresidential for the candidates to appear on her show. I decried that the Bushes and Gores went on her show in 2000, and the Bushes and Kerrys went on Dr. Phil in 2004. Let’s hope there’s a bright side to this: that this ends the appearances of people who are supposed to be Leaders of the Free World on vapid, sleazy daytime talk shows.
Sadly, I think it’s a hope that won’t come to fruition.
Don’t forget the many reasons why Oprah Sucks.

Dear Debbie,
Oprah and other liberals in the media have stolen my Jewish mother. Not a reader, I asked her if she ever listened to conservative talk radio. Never, she told me, she listens to Radio Oprah and follows whatever the Libs on TV tell her. She is completely confused on most issues. Though she is a committed baby killer.
I thought I had convinced her that she can’t support Obama, but Oprah holds all the cards and my advice means nothing.
I hate liberals and hope that Sarah Palin can build on the work of Debbie Schlussel to get my mother back.

Debbie —
Back when you blogged the dearth of funny women in the world of comedy, I told you (under a different TypeKey name — the password is now lost in a deleted email account) that the one hilarious woman left in this world (besides you, of course) was Debra Wilson of MAD TV.
And look! You came around!
Go to YouTube and search for “Oprah Mad Tv Jackass.”
It will have you rolling in the aisles!
[SC: YES, YOU DID PRAISE THIS ACTRESS/COMEDIENNE. AND I WAS NOT A FAN THEN. BUT YOU WERE RIGHT AND I’VE COME AROUND. DS]

I think decent candidates for office should stay away from shows ran by scumbags and retards like Oprah. If you go on Oprah, you might as well go on the Springer show as well.
[R: RIGHT ON. GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE. YOU FORGOT DR. PHIL, TOO–ON WHICH BOTH THE BUSHES AND THE KERRYS APPEARED. DS]

Wait. I can’t help but dive in again.
Palin better not appear on Ellen.
Both Barack and Michelle Obama have done the Ellen “dance” and vapid, subsequent interviews.
McCain appeared on Ellen’s daytime hit show, too, as did Laura and Jenna Bush.
Let’s face it. Palin has made social conservatives swoon. If she secures an appearance on Ellen, Peggy Noonan will have the last laugh.
“It’s over.”

Oprah won’t have Sarah Palin on–although women watch Oprah in record numbers? A blog has commented that Oprah also won’t have Clarence Thomas on her show. Obviously, popular and accomplished women and African-Americans must also be liberal.
Oprah can do what she wants. It’s her show. But that doesn’t mean that her decisions are correct or wise.

This Oprah person has a show on TV? Really? I’ve never seen it but then I am a conservative and have to work for a living.

It’s depressing to think Palin would even be tempted. Best of all would be to have her asked, and for her to refuse.

I guess it goes from worse to bad though. I read where one reporter speculates she will be asked to appear on your other favorite program, The View.
