The 10th anniversary is depressing, because it is evident that it was a huge victory for Muslims:

They killed 3000 Americans and convinced America it was a “religion of peace.” They increased their numbers in America by about 50% in the last ten years. A Republican president invaded two Muslim countries, but then changed the mission and set up Iran client states with Islam as the official religion, when he could have made them secular states with pro-American strongmen. Clueless Americans elected a culturally Muslim president and made Israel the enemy. Muslims are setting up jihadist regimes throughout North Africa with support from America. Muslims are now a protected class while real Americans are searched at airports. And on and on.

I’m sure Muslims are celebrating this tenth anniversary of 9/11.

After watching Children of 9/11 tonight, I thought that I’d like to read more about some of these people & those who have found the strength to begin life anew since that horrible day. Rather than going directly to NBC’s website, I opted to google “NBC Children of 9/11”.

I’m disgusted that your site was among the first to be listed. It amazes me that there are still small minded folks in America who blame the attacks on a single religion. If one is to follow such a twisted line of thought, I suppose that the Holocaust is the sole fault of Christianity & more specifically Catholicism, since Hitler was Roman Catholic.

BL, ALL of the attackers were Muslim. I guess mentioning makes us the ones filled with intolerance and rage. I lost a dear friend partly as a result of what happened on 9/11 and don’t sit and tell me I should sympathized the folks who created a more indirect casualties in addition to all the people they murdered that day! Virtually every Muslim in the world cheered Bin Laden on – if there were any decent Muslim people, one was hard pressed to find them. That is what is telling – I am sure G-d created decent people in every corner of the earth but in the Islamic World by and large, they thought it a heckuva thing people were killed in America! And the people who were killed, you can’t bring in a word edgewise of sympathy for them, feeling grief and rage at such a terrible loss. Even ten years later, it haunts and I still feel like a survivor. I will never forget that as long as I live.

I have hatred in my heart for those who do evil. That is what I am taught in the Bible. My heart is in the right place. All those good people taken before their time – and the networks in our country pander to their enemy and can’t see fit to remember them. So I have that terrible burden to take on me and so every other American b/c you are not willing to assume it!

The only thing I take umbrage with Debbie’s analysis about Bush’s re-election and election was that while it’s true he was a muslim-panderer -as well as allowing liberal interests import tens upon tens of thousands of other 3rd-world refugees for fear of being branded a “racist”, the overriding factor was the booming economy.

With Obama, not only has anti-Americanism come to the forefront, but we’re more oppressed, broke and miserable under his regime than we have been in 4 generations on top of that and it looks to get far worse before it will get any better, if it can ever recover at all to pre-Obama stature.

So they showed a “9/11 child” that was Muslim. So what? Is her loss any easier to cope with than someone else? I’m not a Muslim and I do not think very highly of the religion either but we have to remember that there are millions of Muslims who are Americans too. I think it was very appropriate to show 1 muslim family who was affected by the bombing. Since when do you have to think a certain way, i.e. Islam is bad, to be entitled to the same rights as naturally born citizens?? Do NBC and the other liberal news outlets have a left-wing agenda? Absolutely. But as non-arab Americans, the 9/11 backlash on Muslims is something we never had to deal with and we should not trivialize the challenges they face. I don’t know what he Choudreys believe in their hearts but neither does anyone else here. All Americans without ties to terrorism should be given the benefit of the doubt.

The media’s bottom line message from 9/11 is that only Muslims can be victims of 9/11, through the ongoing campaign of ‘Islamophobia’ orchestrated by a tiny group of Zionists, racists and Christian extremists. The 3000 incinerated kuffars were simply collateral damage.

It’s likely that the spin doctors of the immensely wealthy and influential Organisation of Islamic Conquest are currently working hard at ‘rebranding’ 9/11.

The attack will be increasingly portrayed as an impersonal disaster like a hurricane, that was no-one’s fault. The hijackers, in so far as they are mentioned, were deranged solitary loners who had nothing to do with Islam and just happened to be Muslims, in the same way they could equally well have been Methodists or Quakers.

My guess is that within five years, we’ll see the 11th of September celebrated as ‘Interfaith Understanding Day’ or something similar, with lots of da’wah, anti-Islamophobia propaganda and diversionary kitsch aimed at blotting out the memory of its origins.

Why does this not surprise me? (Again?)

Is it because the pampered, mollycoddled, complacent masses get war-weary too quick?

Is it because people are confusing the need for peace with cowardice?

Is it because after 10+ years after 9/11, nothing has chaged? That we reverted to a pre 9/11 everything-is-beautiful, brave-new-world mode that existed in the Clinton Camelot years?

We all know that not all people are equal. We know that organised religion/politics is a form of crowd control. “Prophet” Muhammad (PROVIDED THAT HE EVER EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE) never gave a fuck about his followers’ well-being. The Quran hardly mentions anything about loving thy neighbour: it’s all kill, rape, pillage. That is not to say that the two great Testaments in the Judaeo-Xtian canon (plus Talmud, Apocrypha, etc.) are not guilty of the same supremist attitude, but most of the text refers to maintaining a good moral existence. Plus, they’re a great read if someone just wants to know how a bunch of nomads became a civilization.

But this isn’t about religion or race or any of the other bullshit that tears our species apart. This is about commemorating something that would eventually remind us that people are capable of doing anything, even driving jetplanes into anything.

Hang on to your fucking hats, kids. 9/11 is coming.

Of course, since you linked the actual report in question it took about 5 minutes to find the statistic you are misquoting. On page 13 it clearly states that 70% of American Muslims hold a VERY unfavorable view of Al-Qaeda (emphasis from the report). Right above it, the data shows 2% are very favorable and 3% somewhat favorable. Having ever seen a Likert scale, this clearly shows 5% have any sort of “favorable” view with the remaining 95% responding “Somewhat unfavorable” or “VERY unfavorable” or “Don’t Know” (the actual questions and responses are on page 126, but perhaps you didn’t read that far).

I don’t know where you learned math but 2+3=5 and when it’s percentages that’s 5/100 or 1/20th not 1/3. Your quote of the numbers for those supporting suicide bombings are equally false since the report clearly states that only 13% felt it was EVER justified with only 1% responding “often justified”.

If you are going to lie about statistics, it would probably be better not to link the actual report you are misrepresenting.
