That’s Your “Conservative”?: “View” Airhead Hasselbeck Cheers on Lesbo Song’s Success (& Graphic Masturbation Song)

By Debbie Schlussel
And now for today’s news about ABC’s annoying anti-male yenta-fest, “The View.”
Faux-conservative/genuine airhead Elisabeth Hasselbeck cheered on singer Katy Perry and her new hit song, “I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It,” and began singing it herself. She also cheered on the song’s success.
This is your “conservative”? True justice will happen a few years from now when Hasselbeck’s daughter, Grace, starts living out the song her very stupid mother thinks is so great for radio airplay. Oh, by the way, don’t forget, Hasselbeck is one of Sean Vannity’s good friends. I guess they didn’t get the talking points on this one yet. Hasselbeck pretends outrage about low-rise undies for girls but cheers this on. Her family values act is phony.
Watch the video and tell me if this is the kind of song you want your kids singing and if a conservative would applaud this song and it’s success:

Oh, and by the way, “conservative” Hasselbeck also applauded Perry for the success of her other song, “UR So Gay,” the first two lines of lyrics of which go like this:

I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf,
While j-cking off listening to Mozart.

It ends with these, um, “lyrics”:

You’re so gay and you don’t even like boys
No you don’t even like
No you don’t even like
No you don’t even like… PENIS

Yup, can’t wait until her kids, Grace Hasselbeck and Taylor Thomas Hasselbeck, start singing that song.
“Mommy, what does ‘J-cking off’ mean?”
***
And that’s in addition to her not saying a word, as Baba Wawa, two weeks ago, discussed her Fourth of July love-fest vacay with the terror-sponsoring Assads of Syria. I guess she didn’t get the talking points on Syria and Bashar Al-Assad, either. Idiotette.
Let’s see: supports affirmative action, Title IX for women, Al Sharpton against Don Imus, loves and applauded Snoop Dogg, likes lesbian and masturbation songs on the radio, saw no prob with Baba Wawa’s 4th of July confab with Syrian terrorist leaders, repeatedly cries on TV, called Rush Limbaugh, “a dream crusher, a dream killer.”
Yup, sounds like a “conservative” to me. How ’bout you?

I don’t see the video. I only see empty space.

She’s about as Republican/Conservative as McCain is.
Just because your politics might be only a few inches to the right of Shtupi Goldberg,or Joy Behar, it doesn’t come close to making you a true Conservative. But,as we know all too well, if she truly were one, she never would have been hired in the first place.

I hate this song. I hate this singer.

Conservatism is about faith and traditional values. When the phonies like Elisabeth Hasselback trash them, its a testament to the conservative movement’s sorry state.

Catchy tune.
Good-looking broad.
One-hit wonder.

Conservatism is a failure and a lie. It claims to be against big government yet it is just another kind of big government. Conservatives wont be happy until everyone is like them and persecute those who refuse to be like them.
Kudos to Elisabeth Hasselbeck for bucking the conservative line.

You have to give Elisabeth Hasselbeck credit for enduring all that previous time on the show while being a “conservative.”
But since it’s a liberal show, usually “true” conservatives switch parties for different reasons: money, fame, peer pressure, going with the flow, group/herd thinking, etc.
Joe Scarborough comes to mind.
Money and fame make miracles.

I’m surprise you missed this one.
I was being sarcastic.

NB,
So, conservative is a lie, yet it’s also a failure. Care to explain how that’s possible, genius.

Blayne on July 28, 2008 at 2:24 pm

the singer is pretty and neither her behavior in the video nor the text is tasteless (heterosexual male here).
in fact, I like it and I am not ashamed of it, even when I sound like a stereotype.
the singer is probably just trying to make money and there are far worse songs that are actually damaging to our youth (think anti war songs and such).
girls kissing girls is basically on the bottom of my worries 😉
you have to just ignore the song. it tells you nothing about anything and also nothing about hasselbeck.
Hasselbeck is a whore. plain and simple. She uses herself to spread the disease of leftism in this country by giving it even the faintest token conservatism whiff to this intellectual laying cage. She is a stupid coward, and by that I mean utterly intellectually inept and not daring to speak up anything in any circumstance that holds this country together, a person that should not be allowed to speak at any network. But that is also true about basically any person in the MSM, besides maybe Michelle Malkin and a few others…
[SF: MICHELLE MALKIN LIKES HASSELBECK AND HAS REPEATEDLY DEFENDED HER IN THE PAST. DS]

“I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf
While jacking off listening to Mozart
You bitch and moan about L.A.
Wishing you were in the rain reading Hemingway
You donÔø?t eat meat and drive electrical cars
YouÔø?re so indie rock itÔø?s almost an art
You need SPF45
Just to stay alive” that’s from the song “Ur so gay”
She is talking about men who act like pussies and think like crybabies.
I think that alone is prize worthy 😉 and gay=lame is what she basically says and I support this message
[SF: I’M WELL AWARE OF WHAT SHE’S TALKING ABOUT. BIG DEAL. THE SONG IS VILE AND DISGUSTING. VERY LOW CLASS. DS]

Schlusselfan on July 28, 2008 at 2:39 pm

(response to Debbie:)
ouch! did not know that…. I sometimes read her blog and I did not expect this…

Schlusselfan on July 28, 2008 at 2:40 pm

it is low class. and it is apt to the even lower class recipients of this message. (not that I think that the artist had any big thoughts about this).
but some topics do not deserve high flying language or they might be perceived as acceptable.
Hasselbeck does deserve “whore” because what she does is disgusting enough to merit such a label.
Men who act like cowards and crybabies and care more for “saving energy” than saving our future in the fight against Islam, well, deserve a vile and disgusting address and the gentle suggestion to hang themselves with, and that would be my suggestion, a peace scarf. (again, this is nothing the artist thought about probably)
and yes, this is not apropriate for kids. but what would be appropriate is kids who suggest to teenage Harry Reids to hang themselves.
we need more confrontation of this defeatist attitude and an artist who attacks the vegan and eco friendly traitoresque cowards out there is not that bad. it might even be the only attack that works on young men.

Schlusselfan on July 28, 2008 at 3:08 pm

Schlusselfan has proven herself to be an anti-male whore here with her pro-Katy Perry, pro-“UR So Gay” stance. If she (Schlusselfan) liked men AT ALL, she’d realize that Katy Perry, being female, has absolutely NO PLACE telling us men how we should act or dress, and she has no place dictating what is, and what is not, “gay”, or “manly”, or being a “pussy”. This is a BIG problem with the attitudes of women and girls in general, not just Katy Perry. Nearly all women and girls act like pussies, too, but THAT seems to be acceptable. It’s a double standard created by feminism (which Katy Perry is a part of), that women and girls, and ONLY women and girls, are allowed to dress, look, and act as MASCULINE as they want, or as feminine as they want, and yet STILL be considered normal, while they turn around and think they can dictate to us guys how WE have to dress, look, or act in order to fit THEIR rigid idea of what “masculine” is. WE MEN can wear makeup, and long hair, and skirts (which I do), and even be vegans, wear H&M scarves, and drive electric cars (which I, for one, don’t). NONE OF THOSE THINGS make us “unmanly” or “pussies” or “gay”. I am a STRAIGHT male and as manly as any man, and we men don’t have to live up to any female-defined standard of what “manliness” or “masculinity” entails in order to be “real men”. It’s not Katy Perry’s place, and it’s not Schlusselfan’s place, to dictate how men or boys should dress, look, or act. Those ideas of “manliness” went out with the 1950s.

Hassleback is what she is–what you have noted for a long time–a ditz. Frankly, I wish people would stop expecting more from her. She cried about Whoppi using the n word too much–whatever!
This vid shows another Madonna type performer who takes “morality” down one more notch for the shock value and free publicity of a sleazy video. While morally it is vile and disgusting—I know that in a world where Howard Stern is called the “king of all media,” this video is a sad reflection of the public’s eager appetite for such tripe.
Worse than this though, I think most people will find this to be just another video–there are so many more already out there that all take us down a notch–what’s one more? We’ve been cooked like the frog in the hot plate beeker of water–imperceptibly, one degree at a time over a long season. Lesbianism is all over the place now–with every other “ism” and “ality”
What does it mean when a society loses its ability to blush again–to feel any sense of shame over sin/perversion of all kinds? I’m not sure exactly–but it looks a lot like Sodom and Gomorrah before the fire rained down.

Ugh – this girl makes me sick & I HOPE that she will be a 1 hit wonder. She is a young little punk that is making lots of money and doesn’t care about her impact on the young girls/boys who are her fans. Her web site is horrible and her language/actions are very immoral. Shame on you Katy Hudson. You should grow up! Perhaps one day soon you will catch a clue.

piratelady on July 28, 2008 at 3:38 pm

I quote from wikipedia:
Her two songs, Ur So Gay and I Kissed A Girl, have been cited as being homophobic as well as misandric by columnists,[19] activists and commentators including Glenn Sacks,[20] gay periodicals like the Washington Blade,[21][22] and prominent bloggers[23] including Feministe.[24]
this girl is simply a heterosexual female with good looks who hates men who act like crybabies and has dared to kiss a girl and write a song about it.
that is not unusual or bad.
stop looking at single words and look on subtext and context.
maybe she will be or even wants to be a new madonna who betrays her country and puts garbage into the head of her fans. right now she is a most normal young woman who speaks her mind and not political phrases of being good to everybody.
to all who cry lesbian and gay please note that the 2 songs discussed here are not advancing any gay-culture (see the wiki text), are certainly not for kids, but are also not leftist, ideology laden garbage.

Schlusselfan on July 28, 2008 at 3:52 pm

If you have to defend such low class behavior from the likes of Hasselbeck, no wonder people are turned off by conservatism. I always thought its to advocate high standards of ethics, thought and critical reasoning. Yes, I do know the Left doesn’t have any standards. That’s no reason to not to be the best we can be – even if we do fall short at times. And praising what passes for trash in our society keeps conservatives from aiming for excellence and being the kind of role models our country needs to show off its true greatness!

NormanF on July 28, 2008 at 6:17 pm

NormanF:
you are making a very dangerous mistake. you mix up two things: her person and what she stands for and what she always does, and this incident where she sings a stupid song.
I did not defend Hasselbeck. That is absurd. I said what she did in this instance is of no importance.
I am all for high standards and critical reasoning.
I did not really praise it. I rather emphasized the direction in which this particular trash goes and it is not against Israel, conservatives or America. It is just a stupid song from a so called artist that thinks men should not think gay is cool or act like pussies.
I accept a certain amount of trash in my life and often even enjoy it. If that trash starts to go political (and it is always leftist if it goes political), it will be target for my personal outrage.
I think art should be unpolitical. or conservative.
as to the kids issue: the problem is not artists that use the word penis in a song, but kids who get zero education and learn nothing about how a country works and have WAY too much time to party and drink and smoke and leave even the best universities as dumbed down morons who know nothing about anything, except how to hate and destroy the west.
people need to learn that art is art. it is pretty garbage, useless for anything besides amusement, like a cookie. today we feed babies cookies for 18 years and other people start complaining about the evilness of cookies. I want my cookies. I am a grown up who can handle them. kids should eat vegetables

Schlusselfan on July 28, 2008 at 7:56 pm

Schlusselfan–so much of what you write is so wrong and so off base that I will just take a sampling of 2 paragraphs here:
“this girl is simply a heterosexual female with good looks who hates men who act like crybabies and has dared to kiss a girl and write a song about it. that is not unusual or bad.”
and:
“people need to learn that art is art. it is pretty garbage, useless for anything besides amusement, like a cookie. today we feed babies cookies for 18 years and other people start complaining about the evilness of cookies. I want my cookies. I am a grown up who can handle them. kids should eat vegetables”
The idea that you think you know what you are talking about is scary. In one swoop–you swallow so much BS it is amazing.
First–ART is a clear representation of IDEALS of the culture that calls it “art.” That has always been true–in every society throughout history. Want to know about the people–look at their ART! So–clear your head on this one. It’s not “art is a cookie”–so ‘I’m adult, I can handle it’– sure you can–that’s the problem–so we end up with all kinds of idiots who think that girls going lesbian for a kick is just (ho-hum, yawn) just a simple choice. Sure, feed that to my teenage girls on YouTube! Wake up!!
Second: Since you seem to admire this sleaze’s business smarts at capitalizing on her slutty exhibitionism–“not unusual or bad” you say… I want to ask you–if someone defecated on a stage and she made a hot video of herself–consuming the product (like Debbie’s recap of the latest Will Ferrell movie) it would no doubt sell–but do you still say that’s not unusual or bad? Does anything rate “unusual or bad” to you?
Start checking what’s in that Kool-Aid you’re drinking before it’s too late. A Schlusselfan should have some smarts.

I once saw a movie called “The Cookie, The Thief, His Wife And Lover” when I was much younger, on the strength of liberal critics’ praise of it. I was sorry I went to see it. It was over three hours of my life I never got back. Cannibalism, pointless sex and sadism of the worst sort. I felt sick after I left the theater. It taught me I think, that depravity isn’t great art. It isn’t art at all. It doesn’t enlighten or inspire us. Just because someone does a painting or makes a movie, doesn’t necessarily mean it has a message we like or it has redeeming value. Cultural garbage has just the opposite effect upon us to that of true art.

And she liked it.

Debbie –
Just saw the “UR so gay” video. I thought it was great. Would you say that it’d be more to your liking if it wasn’t being marketed toward kids?
[LB: NO. IT’S LOW CLASS. DIDN’T YOU GET THAT THIS WAS PART OF THE POINT OF THIS POST? SORRY, BUT IF YOU LIKE SONGS THAT FEATURE THE “LYRICS,” “J–KING OFF,” I WONDER ABOUT YOU. ON SECOND THOUGHT, I DON’T WONDER–I JUST DON’T WANNA KNOW. DS]

LibertarianBulbasaur on July 29, 2008 at 1:13 am

@BB:
I sure don’t admire her. I like the song – that is the same thing as saying I like a girls looks. Devoid of any intellectual or moral quality.
and you are right on art, of course. but so am I. we just have different definitions. I agree, art should be what you say it is. I say it is garbage today.
indeed, art is a great way to make the decline of our society obvious.
but art is no nation builder. it is a parasite that hatches once great men have fought and died for their ideals and our future and then art comes along and claims it had anything to do with it.
art, if it gains any true power, will inevitably kill off any people because art is almost exclusively sick and suicidal if you view it percentage wise.
to fight this spirit we have to first divide art into useful (conservative), garbage and propaganda for barbarism.
then we have to dismantle every institution or company that deals with propaganda for barbarism, like anti war, pro relativism, pro Islam and so forth.
next step is to root out the foundations of this filth, the liberal stranglehold on the education system which elevates this filth and calls for more of the same.
what will be left is the useful and the not dangerous. yes, it will still be very low class, most of it. I do not care. we have bigger fish to fry.
@NormanF
now that is the problem, is it not? what you describe is dangerous filth, but we have already spent our outrage on the mere worthless.
I think we should jail anyone who produces such rot and the makers of torture movies with them. jail or deport to a third world country where they can study the real world application of the things they depict in their movies.
the real world application of a girl using a filthy word in a song is just nothing really.

Schlusselfan on July 29, 2008 at 2:32 am

I just listened to that song and it made me very sad… to think how many stupid lil girls just wanting to fit in… just another thing to mess up their lives… oy vey.
and for those that want to see first hand how much it hurts real youth and stupid lil girls.
geosense.net is a geography game site full of kids adults and paedophiles. but I did a small survey there asking kids about katy perry… and the majority of lil girls there actually contemplated acting on the song just because its so catchy and sounds like everyone else is doing it… just to fit in.
there are also some great people there that are adults too they usually don’t talk to the kids.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck is an extreme lightweight when it comes to understanding or stating conservative values. It doesnt’ take a lot of brains to see that she was placed on the View to give a semblence of balance without fear that she could actually upset the moonbat applecart that the show espouses. She’s never outnumbered by a factor of less than 3 or 4 to 1, and by personalities who are each bombasitic and overbearing in their own right.
I’m not sure which is the sadder case- that Hasselbeck may actually think she’s on that show to be an effective coutnterpoint to the likes of Whoopie et al, or that she realizes she’s being a stooge and going along with it…

Mistress_Dee on July 29, 2008 at 6:33 am

Debbie I agree with you 100%. These videos are truly vile.
I am sorry to hear Michelle Malkin likes Hasselbeck too.

jim on July 29, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Schlusselfan: Sorry, on this, we both cannot be right–but I understand what you are trying to say. The thing is, when you excuse garbage as art–and the immoral message can be what makes it garbage–you excuse all kinds of crap–certainly stuff that is disqualified as art. If you want to call it art–you are the problem.
Art may not be a nation builder–but art reflects what a nation is about–its ideals–what its people aspire gaze on and linger on. The only reason people call some pieces of trash “art” is because of the anything goes, “art is only in the eye of the beholder” false view.
Such “anything goes” foolishness is what gets us a crucifix in a jar of urine being called art by an “artist.” Political speech? yes. Anti-Christian speech? yes. Art? Absolutely not!

BB on July 29, 2008 at 4:03 pm

It’s not something I’d go out of my way to purchase, and I’m not calling it art or anything, but I don’t see why adults can’t listen to it and consider it harmless silly fun.
What makes you distinguish between this, for example, and Superbad, which you enjoyed despite being far more crude?
