Weird Science: Big Brother PC Taste Test for (British) Kiddies

By Debbie Schlussel
If me no likey da spicy food, then I’m a racist. Yup, welcome to the brave new world of “Flavor Minority Report,” where the state–the British State–can tell ahead of time if you’ll be a racist.
Apparently, they’ve spent millions developing a theory that concludes that if toddlers don’t like spicy foods, they’ll become racists:

Toddlers who turn their noses up at spicy food from overseas could be branded racists by a Government-sponsored agency.
The National Children’s Bureau, which receives 12 million pounds a year, mainly from Government funded organisations, has issued guidance to play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist incidents among youngsters in their care.
This could include a child of as young as three who says “yuk” in response to being served unfamiliar foreign food.

Definite Budding Racism:

The guidance by the NCB is designed to draw attention to potentially-racist attitudes in youngsters from a young age.
It alerts playgroup leaders that even babies can not be ignored in the drive to root out prejudice as they can “recognise different people in their lives”.

Absurd. But, I guess since I’ve liked spicy falafel and Plochman’s Kosciusko Spicy Brown Mustard since I was a kid, I’m off the hook. Take that, you liberals who like quinoa and yogurt (neither of which is spicy).
Reader Duane quotes a few guys who knew something about indoctrinating kids and who’d probably love this absurd statist spicy food thesis:

Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.
–V. I. Lenin
The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother’s care, shall be in state institutions at state expense.
–Karl Marx
Education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.
–Josef Stalin

Oops. Don’t tell anyone that I also liked cereal with milk. Not spicy, ergo . . . .

and racism keeps being defined down… but the goal is to keep people off balance, guilty and always afraid that any minute something they say or do can be considered racist

I have no problem with children refusing to eat certain British foods. For example, Vegemite and Marmite are often spread over bread and butter as well as used as gravy bases. Vegemite tastes like it is made from salty, dessicated vegetables. Marmite tastes like it is made from salty, dessicated marmots. Perhaps Marmite would make a good sauce for sheep’s eye. Ask an AngloPaki or an AngloPali what he thinks (of course, female AngloPakis and AngloPalis think the same things as do their men – or else).
In addition to sheep eye with Marmite gravy, perhaps the perpetually offended would enjoy Spam, head cheese, chitterlings, and fried rinds as mandatory meal offerings in their schools. And do not forget those education modules where everyone must particpate in Jewish, Christian and Hindu religious services for their multicultural education.
chsw, who now enjoys potato pancakes with red pepper sauce and curried fried matzah balls.

Debbie, public schools here aren’t much better. If g-d forbid a child says anything right wing, anti-gay agenda/pro-Bush/anti-global warming, etc., the teachers and staff treat the kid like a Nazi. This, BTW, sort of happened to me in 8th grade Socialism Studies when I poo poo’d an exercize on what would happen if a nuclear weapon exploded on our city. The teacher hounded me (he actually said F you to me) for a while. I later heard he was fiddling with one of my female classmates, which may account for his eventual loss of interest in me. But woe to the kid who isn’t ten times smarter than his tormenter.

Maybe I’m over-reacting but this smacks of ‘social engineering’.

The EU already surrendered this war. They never had a chance anyway. Poor suckers.
Watch – now they’ll have more riots (battles and skirmishes, really) with the Islamists and their supporters, and they’ll call on us to solve their fascism problems again.
If we have to go into Europe for another war, I want real compensation this time. They need to show us they’re worth saving again. They keep up with the, “Oh! We’ll be democratic and ensure liberty.” Then they turn back to imperial fascism, import a lower class to be servants that turns on them, and demand high taxes for the royalty and feudal lord’s.
They made their bed – they can sleep in it. We’ve got enough troubles.

Once again this is a complete non-story that you people have naively swallowed hook, line and sinker.
I’ve told you time after time that the Daily Mail and Daily Express regularly lie in attempts to discredit anyone they perceive as being ‘p.c.’ or anyone to the left of Genghis Khan.
This is such a case, the report features just DOES NOT SAY that refusing spicy food is an early sign of racism, neither is this a UK government funded or sponsored organization. The cost of the report is funded entirely from sales.
Here is the relevant passage from the NCB report…
