Glad I Don’t Live in France . . .

By Debbie Schlussel
. . . and that we still have freedom of speech here, unlike in Canada and the home of Brigitte Bardot and Peppy Le Pew . . . or is that Lepieux . . . or is that Al-Pew?
I’d better not guess at the new Islamic version of the skunk’s name, or I’ll be found guilty of incitement, as Bardot just was.
As reader Fred says, “What utter BS!” Or Le BS.

This is what happens when you turn over your rights to the government. It starts off with a slow sapping of rights to the government in the belief that the government will take care of you. Before you know it you have ‘Hate’ crimes… where you are punished more severely for how think (i.e. hate) Here i think she was punished for ‘inciting’ hatred against muslims (she was trying to get them to stun their goats and lambs before slaughtering them)
I guess you better not say anything bad if your Target Superstore cashier refuses to touch your pork chops!

Just wait till the Democratic administration mandates a “new & improved” Fairness Doctrine.

If Osama Obama becomes POTUS and the Congress is contolled by Dems, you will see hate speech laws enacted in this country.

FWIU, this was trial court. Ms. Bardot may still appeal. However, should she eventually have to pay these damages, she should as a protest pay with paper bags full of coin in the lowest denominations available in France. If the plaintiff will not accept them, she should put them on the judge’s desk.

Nonsense. And you know it.

How come preaching of the koran is not considered hate speech? Paraphrasing: Don’t befriend a non-muslim. Kill the Jew behind the rock. Make false treaties until you are in a position of power.

Audacious: it’s not nonsense; the first one will be called “the Fairness Doctrine.” And you know it.

DocLiberty on June 3, 2008 at 10:23 pm

Doc,
No need to worry. You and your buddies here will always be able to spread all the hatred you want.
Hope you were paying attention to all the speeches this evening. McCain was an embarassment. Obama shined. What do YOU think will happen on November 4th?

Audacious on June 4, 2008 at 12:42 am

Audacious:
Accusing those who disagree with you of “hate” is only one step up from No Pasaran’s favorite tactic of calling all who disagree with him “stupid.”
And I have no idea what will happen on November 4. I may be many things, but I’m not a McCainiac.

“Accusing those who disagree with you of “hate” is only one step up from No Pasaran’s favorite tactic of calling all who disagree with him “stupid.””
Liberty-boy, I call you stupid because you have the I.Q. of a chicken. Nothing to do with how you disagree with me, excepting that disagreeing with me is generally an early sign of advancing stupidity and/or sinility.

No Pasaran! on June 4, 2008 at 10:33 am

No Pasaran:
People who accuse others of having the IQ of a chicken shouldn’t end their posts with words that are not in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary.
Have I mentioned that in addition to being a self-confessed coward, hypocrite, attempted murderer, and fool, you’re also a lousy proofreader?

“Have I mentioned that in addition to being a self-confessed coward, hypocrite, attempted murderer, and fool, you’re also a lousy proofreader?”
Docco, why don’t you demonstrate postings that you have made in a foreign language and we can compare and contrast.
