Detroit Jewish & Muslim Leaders Agree: “Rev. Wright Ain’t Such a Bad Guy”

As you probably already know, Rev. Jeremiah Wright is speaking at this weekend’s Detroit NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner.
What you may not know is that Detroit’s organized, unelected, unrepresentative Jewish community is unwilling to speak out against Rev. Wright, despite his open anti-Semitism, anti-Israel, and–most important–anti-American sentiments. And what you may also not know is that Detroit’s Muslim community has been so enabled by these unelected “Jewish leaders” that it is lavishing very thick praise upon Rev. Wright.

Won’t Condemn Anti-Semitic, Anti-American Rev. Jeremiah Wright . . .
I’ll begin with the “Religion of Peace.” I’ve long criticized Detroit Newsistan editorial page editor Nolan Finley for making his pages the new home to Hezbollah, HAMAS, and other agents of terror. He has the dubious distinction of being the only editorial editor of a major newspaper to give an agent of Hezbollah and an employee of the late Ayatollah Khomeini–Imam Mohammed Ali Elahi–a regular column in which to spew his hate. I also blame the Jews. The unrepresentative Jewish Community Council of Detroit constantly broke pita with this guy. And I blame Bush judicial nominee, U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III a/k/a “Abu Porno,” for going to this guy’s mosque and repeatedly applauding and praising him, including his support for Hezbollah.
Today, Elahi–whose mosque is said to be the second largest in North America–wrote this, in an anti-Semitic diatribe against Israel:
Rev. Jeremiah Wright is a shining light, bringing dignity and integrity to our nation. His voice represents the mission of Jesus and the call for freedom and justice. This voice of truth and peace has become a victim of hateful media harassment. . . .
Wright has already proved his love and loyalty to our country in his many years of military service and in three decades of community leadership. He is not one of those church leaders who sold their souls to politics with no service to the image and moral salvation of this nation.
Good to know that one of the most extremist imams (repetitive phrase) and former Khomeini sidekick is now an expert on the “mission of Jesus.”

Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi . . . said that during his sermon this afternoon at his mosque he plans to “condemn the unfair treatment” that he says Wright “received by some media members who are ignoring this faith leader’s decades of dedication and services to this country and nation.”
Elahi said in a release that he plans to make his remarks during today’s Friday sermon, which is traditionally the most attended service in Islamic centers, ahead of Wright’s talk Sunday in Detroit at an NAACP dinner.
Then, there are the “Jews.” Here is some of what Rabbi Aaron Bergman–who, sadly, heads a Jewish school and will soon have a major position at a key Detroit synagogue and who is a fan of Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison and defender of animal abuser Michael Vick–wrote to temper his withering statement about Rev. Wright:
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright served his country admirably in the military. He has been a vigilant fighter for the rights of African-Americans and has shown unusual sensitivity to those struggling with HIV/AIDS and those in the gay community. . . .
There is a long way to go before we eradicate racism and other great wrongs. . . .
The NAACP may honor whomever it wishes. I hope, though, that other powerful voices at the dinner will call for a true love of all people and a desire for fairness for everyone.
Wow. So glad we Jews and Americans have such a vocal, strong advocate on our side. Thanks, Rabbi. Didn’t you know Passover is a time to celebrate freedom from bondage, not praise Pharoah?
Would love to see how the esteemed rabbi would temper criticism of Goebbels in the early 1940s:
They have acted admirably in making the trains run on time. They and Dr. Mengele have been vigilant in providing free medical care, unusually sensitive to the needs of those in (Warsaw) ghetto neighborhoods.
And finally, there’s my fave super-Jew, Robert Cohen of the Detroit Jewish Community Council–the man who goes out of his way to defend extremist Muslims and anti-Semites. On Rev. Wright, he would only say this:
“We hope that (Wright’s) comments Sunday serve to unite a broader community, rather than divide it,” said Robert Cohen, executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Bloomfield Hills. He declined further comment.
So glad he’s lookin’ out for the Jews. And so glad he’s lookin’ out for America. Here’s what he might’ve said in 1940:
We hope that Goebbels’ comments Sunday serve to unite a broader community rather than divide it. Beyond that, I decline to further comment.
It should speak volumes that to get a Jewish leader to speak out against the anti-Semitic, anti-American, anti-Israel Rev. Wright, the Detroit papers had to go all the way to Pennsylvania, so wimpy and spineless is the Jewish establishment of Detroit:
The Zionist Organization of America, a New York-based Jewish activist group with a membership of more than 30,000 members nationally, called for the Detroit NAACP to rescind its invitation to Wright in an April 14 letter to Anthony.
Morton Klein, the organization’s national director, said he was not sure whether the local chapter will hold a protest at Sunday’s dinner.
“This is a man who has promoted hatred against America, Jews and whites and it’s almost totally based on lies. Jeremiah Wright owes an apology to America,” said Klein. “This is the type of person the NAACP should be fighting. I just don’t understand the NAACP culture in Detroit to make this invitation.”
Thanks, Rabbi Bergman and Mr. Cohen, for adding yet more shining examples of the stereotype of the weak, liberal, defenseless Jew.
Goebbels only wishes he lived today.

Black Americans want to do away with racism, but pray tell, how do you do this when their premier association has a RACISTS of the highist degree?
This man is pure poison and should be denied by everyone who is a Christian and also all Jews who are the founding Fathers of Christianity.
God help us all, when Jews who are the most fervent defenders of Freedom in all it’s forms cannot find in it’s heart to rage against this BIGOT and JEW HATER.
