More evidence, today, that the feds know that Youssef Samer Megahed and Ahmed Abdellatif Mohamed are Islamic terrorists and want them removed from the U.S. Megahed (whose surname means, aptly, holy warrior) and Mohamed–the smiling terrorists who claimed they needed pipe bombs near a military installation in the middle of the night because they were going to hold a “barbecue”–were charged with firearms violations that would lead to the deportation of at least one of them.
Whenever the feds are unsure they will win a terrorism case–which is most of the time because they’re incompetent and PC-obsessed–if they aliens are terrorists, they charge the terrorists with something that is easy to prove and which will get them deported.
That’s the case here:

The seven-count indictment, filed Tuesday, supersedes a two-count indictment handed up Aug. 29. That indictment charged both men with illegally transporting explosive material and charged Mohamed with demonstrating how to make an explosive device.
The new indictment also charges Megahed, 22, and Mohamed, 26, with possessing an unregistered firearm. It includes charges against Mohamed similar to those that a USF graduate faced in connection with a visit to a Tampa gun range.
Mohamed has been charged in the new indictment with illegally possessing a firearm, violating his student visa. Karim Moussaoui, 28, was found guilty by a jury earlier this month on a similar charge and is in jail awaiting sentencing.

Sadly, Megahed–Mr. Holy Warrior–is a legal resident and can lawfully possess a firearm. If our country had any cojones at all–and it does not–we would revoke Megahed’s green card for not registering the firearm.

Mohamed is charged with all seven counts of the new indictment. If convicted of all the charges, he could potentially go to prison for between 10 years and life. If convicted on the charges of transporting explosive materials and possessing an unregistered firearm, Megahed faces a maximum of 10 years in prison on each count.
The pair are scheduled to go to trial on the explosives charge on April 28. Mohamed is scheduled for trial May 12 on the charge of demonstrating how to make an explosive device. Prosecutors said he posted a video to YouTube, showing how to turn a remote control toy into a detonator.

Let’s hope the juries in these South Florida cases are not typical of the O.J.-style juries that have been trying all the other terrorism cases there. They’ve already blown it on Sami Al-Arian and now have two hung juries on the Islamic terrorists who planned to blow up the Sears Tower.
But, as I’ve detailed on this site, it’s not just the idiotic juries who must have been abroad on 9/11. It’s the Department of Justice, which has blown most terrorism cases and just doesn’t give a damn.
