So, Two Polygamists Walk Into a Bar . . .

By Debbie Schlussel
Well, in this case, neither polygamist walks into a bar (or isn’t supposed to, anyway), because their respective religions proscribe alcohol consumption.
But the two polygamists are treated quite differently. And it’s all about PC.
I’m talking about the Texas compound that, last week, was raided by authorities, and over 400 kids seized and put in foster homes or shelters with the women from the compound. The area–populated by followers of Warren Jeffs’ extremist Mormon splinter group, the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints–was said to be dominated by men with multiple wives, men who are age 50 and older having sex with teen girls.
Whose “Reprogramming” is Vital to Our National Security: Theirs . . .

texasjeffswomen.jpg

Or Theirs? . . .
fitnessusamuslimwomen.jpg

Press accounts have said that the kids, particularly the girls, need to be “deprogrammed” from this religion, and that it is abusive, polygamist, and unconscionable in its “rapist” behavior toward young teens. Oh, and they dress in quaint, modest clothing. Can you imagine hearing representatives from the state saying this about say, a certain religion whose name begins with an “I” and ends with an “M”, with an “S-L-A” in the middle?:

Now, if the state gets its way, hundreds of children could be put in foster homes, in what could be a wrenching cultural adjustment that may require intensive counseling.
“What they are up against is having to deprogram an entire community.”

The story is dominating the news, unlike another religion that regularly does the same thing in far greater numbers all over America, and all over the world.
While I agree with all of that–that the behavior and conduct is wrong, you could say the exact same thing about another compound dominated by an extremist religion whose middle-aged men have multiple wives, have sex and kids with underaged women, and are “programmed” to be abused. The compound is called “Dearbornistan” and the religion is Islam.
The only difference: While the behavior of the Jeffs’-associated polygamists is abhorrent, 19 of their fellow co-religionists didn’t slaughter 3,000 Americans, and thousands more haven’t tried and/or succeeded at other attacks. And millions of their fellow co-religionists haven’t professed their love of those who vow destruction of America.
So, tell me, where should the FBI and the federal government be focusing its attention . . . Islamic America or the far minor and less threatening Warren Jeffs’ America? They haven’t even found the alleged 16-year-old who tipped off law enforcement and made the alleged complaint.
When Muslim women in Dearbornistan, some aged 12 and younger, have kids with 50-year-olds with several wives, authorities look the other way and say “it’s okay because they’re married ‘in the eyes of the mosque,’ and this is how it’s done in their religion.” There was once a statutory rape case involving an underaged Muslim girl who gave birth in Dearborn to the child of a Muslim man decades her senior. But that was the result–the case was dropped because “the mosque says it’s okay.” And there have been no other cases like it prosecuted in Dearborn.
Two very similar religions . . . two very different treatments by legions of federal agents and the law enforcement policy-makers from above.
I know who needs to be de-programmed and reprogrammed. And it’s not just women in bonnets, gingham dresses, and braided, long hair in Texas.
So, how to get the government off the Jeffs’ cult followers’ backs?
Well, they need to hijack some planes with box-cutters for starters . . . .

The only difference b/t both religious polygamist groups is that one group is breeding terrorists and preaching violence towards non-muslims while the other is not. At least Mormons are patriotic and not indoctrinating their children to hate America and they certainly don’t pose a threat to our national security.Pray tell which religion is.

Debbie: My reaction to this story about a Mormon splinter group is exactly the same as yours – what about that other, far larger, far more insidious group – traditional Muslims – who practice polygamy here? Not a word about this from the cowardly and hypocritical mainstream media. One sidebar – you, I am sure, did not mean what you wrote above: “There was once a statutory rape case involving an underaged Muslim girl who gave birth in Dearborn to a Muslim man decades her senior..” That would have been newsworthy indeed. The truth, however – that underaged Muslim girls are being, in effect, raped and impregnated by Muslim men decades older than they, and that this is a widespread practice, considered halal, its continuation being upheld by Shari’a, is nearly as bizarre.

For better or worse, local DA’s and police chiefs are like petty barons with their own small fiefdoms. Some will be good, some will be bad, and some will be incompetent. Priorities of each will differ. The same goes for US Attorneys and FBI regional chief agents. Yet it is still difficult to see how the difference in treatment can be justified and how mass statutory rape can be ignored by the Michigan authorities. Perhaps if one of the underage wives were transported across state lines for the purpose of sex (marriage consummation), then the Feds can be pressured to pursue the case.

interesting point you make about this. i would hope that if men are raping girls their they would be prosecuted.

It’s simple. The extremist Morman splinter group are identified by themselves, the MSM, and the government as “Christians”. This country is at war with Christians, and embraces evrything non Christian, or non Judaeo-Christian. Mooslimes are embraced and protected, Christians are not allowed to practice their religion anywhere but local churches (for now).

spiffo on April 14, 2008 at 3:03 pm

Debbie- Do you know of instances where the Muslims girls call the police and ask for help? As I understand it, the reason the cops, FBI, et.al. went into the Texas compound was due to the complaint of the teenager who said she was abused. Did the cops just make it up so that they would have a reason to justify their actions? No one has found the girl who allegedly made the complaint. Either dead, kidnapped, or never was. Where would a Muslim girl go if she tried to bring the law into it? DisHonor killings are the result of such insolence.

“When Muslim women in Dearbornistan, some aged 12 and younger”-
Correction please, Debbie: 12 year olds are not women, they are kids. Calling them ‘women’ encourages pedo’s…

Ahh, that’s the reason. You’re a deep thinker there, Spiffo.

I agree with everything except that the actual splinter group is the mainstream mormon church of today, having given up their polygamist beginnings. Some say it was in order to acheive statehood. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young had multiple wives.

Yes, the FLDS folks have been a problem that Utah State’s AG Mark Shurtleff won’t deal with thoroughly. He allowed these child rapists and inbreeds make a run for Texas.
What’s worse is the other group that most folks don’t know much about.
 The True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (TLC): These are the most violent. They have threatened to siege the LDS Temple in Manti, UT.
 The Latter Day Church of Christ (LDCC): these guys are normally called the Kingston Clan. Founded by a local dairy farmer, he thought he could make a master race by inbreeding his immediate family.
 United Apostolic Brethren (UAB): these guys are normally called the Allred Group. They are more civil, but had a bloody war with the LeBaron polygamist group.
 Independent Polygamists: These guys are relatively unknown. They mostly keep a low profile in the deserts. The most notable was Tom Green, a polygamist who served time for welfare fraud and other charges. His prosecutor, David Leavitt (brother of CDC Chairman Mike Leavitt) is now running for congress.
The FLDS are just the largest and best-known group. But for the most part, these guys are not related to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS or Mormons). They have different organizations and do not use the Book of Mormon, Holy Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price ñ they rely heavily on books written by their leaders for spiritual guidance. All folks who practice plural marriage in the LDS Church are excommunicated, and we are advised by church authorities to have no contact with them whatsoever.
These groups also do not practice historical LDS Celestial marriage. They seem to practice Islamic plural marriage. LDS Celestial marriage has no policy to brainwash women or treat them as property. We most certainly did not kill or wives or children for disobedience!
Historically, back in 1890 the LDS Church was in the midst of civil strife with the Fed. Our property was confiscated, fathers were imprisoned on flimsy charges, courts were packed to ensure conviction, children kidnapped and interrogated for information, and federal Marshallís patrolled our churches brandishing guns during services. Our weapons were confiscated, we had no right to vote, no right to property, no right to habeas corpus, no right to complain if shot by a Marshall; no constitutional rights whatsoever. We made numerous concessions to the government for some of our rights back. The first concession was to end Celestial Marriage. The Lord allowed the practice to end, so the concession was made.
Today, the Islamic polygamists get a pass, while those who these government folks arenít afraid of get the works.
And we all thought the FLDS would make a fight of it, too. I’m glad they didn’t.

Here is a link which shows how Muslim clerics uphold polygamy and child marriage (or, to our way of thinking, pedophilia and child rape):

It is politically correct to go after the EVIL WHITE MAN for what ever he does, no hesitating. ISLAMICS get to play the race card END OF STORY.

There are 2 things that can be done. 1st call the FBI when you see it happening don’t say their Satanists I mean muslim. Just tell them some little girl is being molested and give the address. Second and the one I prefer… Shoot them. Gun them down in the street like the rabid animals they are. We have run them out of the town I live in. There are very few places in my town where you can go and see one left. the few that are left stay to themselves, and do not have the courage to speak or challenge us. They are the enemy and they know it. And before some lowlife liberal calls me a racist last I checked Islam is a religion (a false one but still considered a religion) NOT a race so get it right or shut up. Any mu-slime don’t like what I have said? common down to South Florida, just remember WE SHOOT BACK!!

Once again:
If you think White polygamists are bad,
Black/Arab/MUSLIM polygamists are far WORSE.

Sheik, if you will look for the definition of “adult” in a law dictionary, and other older dictionaries, you will find that a 12 year old female is/was considered an adult at common law and a 14 year old male is/was considered an adult.
So, 12 y.o. females have been “women” since time immemorial up until just recently (relatively speaking), when someone arbitrarily decided that a human must now be 18 to be almost considered an adult and 21 to be fully considered adult (in America, that is).
One wonders, however, why it is that, when a young male or female under the age of 18 (such as 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) commit certain crimes, courts are requested by prosecutors to try them as adults, depending on the seriousness of the crime. This is a curiosity to me, showing the arbitrariness of politicians and others here in America. They can’t make up their minds unless there is something in it for them (such as political gain).
Can you imagine why a female was fully a woman at 12 when the average lifespan was 27 or so, but somehow, magically stayed a child when the lifespan increased dramatically (and the number of psychologists increased dramatically – might be a connection)? Hmmmm, must be an evolutionary thing, huh?
If you dig deep enough, you will also find that females as young as 7 years old were given in marriage not all that long ago.
So, one has to wonder who it was who finally decided at what age a human should be considered adult. I know 50+ year old people who I would consider too immature to be considered adults, personally.

I’m surprised at how many people commenting here refer to the Warren Jeffs people as “Mormons.” They are not; they are a splinter group that broke away from the mainstream Mormon church when it modernized and renounced polygamy and spearatism a century ago. Modern Mormons do not practice or condone polygamy, and yes, they are generally very patriotic and law-abiding. They are socially conservative, but they certainly do not force their under-age children to marry; they (for the most part) send their children to regular public schools and universities, encourage both boys and girls to seek higher education, and are well-represented in all the professions. They also do significant humanitarian work (for many communities, not just other Mormons) both in the U.S. and internationally. In other words, they have very little in common with the Warren Jeffs polygamists, and it does them a disservice to equate the two.

Nowadays, adjusted to inflation, give the African tourists in America an Escalade Cadillac with 24" shiny rims, and $50,000 cash a month. ,

Nice post. I study something on totally different blogs everyday. It’s going to always be stimulating to read content material from different writers and observe a bit something from their blog.
