“Islamic Outreach” Run Amok: Entire U.S. Attorney’s Office Recused From Hanooti Iraqi Spy Case

By Debbie Schlussel
For years, I’ve been complaining (including in New York Post columns) about the absurd outreach by the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan to extremist Muslims in the Detroit area. As I’ve repeatedly noted, a monthly “BRIDGES” group meeting hosted by FBI award revokee and “former” Islamic terrorist, Imad Hamad, and U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III a/k/a “Abu Porno,” consisted of extremist Muslim leaders bitching and federal officials pandering to them, apologizing for their agents and prosecutors trying to doing their jobs against Muslim terrorists and other criminals.
Now, we see the fruits of this absurd “outreach.” The entire U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan has recused itself from the case against Iraqi spy Muthanna Al-Hanooti, indicted on Wednesday. The case must be tried by lawyers from Washington, who will have to fly in, eat out at nice restaurants, and stay at nice hotels . . . courtesy of the taxpayers.

Then-US Attorney Jeffrey Collins (center) w/Saddam Spy/Indictee Muthanna Al-Hanooti, Imad Hamad, unidentified person, and LIFE Official, Mohammed Alomari

That’s because Al-Hanooti was a regular participant in the “Bridges” meetings with the feds, including U.S. Attorney Murphy, a Bush nominee for the Federal Court of Appeals. He was regularly feted by Murphy and his minions, who all sucked up to him. Same goes for his predecessor, U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Collins. Check out the pictures below of Collins with Al-Hanooti and Murphy wil Al-Hanooti’s boss Khalil Jassemm and other officials of the Saddam-allied charity Hanooti worked for, LIFE For Relief and Development.
And yet, a day after his indictment, the meetings with Al-Hanooti’s partners in crime, Imad Hamad, Mohammed Alomari, and other such malefactors continued, yesterday–even though it is well-known that Hamad and Alomari conspired with Al-Hanooti in much of his illicit activity:

The Dearborn Heights man accused of working for Iraqi intelligence was released from custody Thursday as Arab-American and Muslim community leaders met with federal law enforcement officials to discuss his case. . . .
About 50 people attended the meeting Thursday; half were federal officials from the FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies; the others were Arab-American and Muslim leaders.
FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Bill Kowalski said the meeting was “part of our efforts to continue an open dialogue with the community.”

Yes, to continue an open dialogue with Islamic terrorists and their enablers. This is the same Agent Kowalski who admitted to a Michigan reporter that he sent his “B Team” of terrorism agents to investigate the cellphone-purchasing Palestinians in central Michigan in 2006, because he wanted the case to go away. The local prosecutor said that Kowalski botched and sabotaged the case, despite hard evidence that the cellphone purchasers had planned a terrorist attack on Michigan’s Mackinac Bridge, including “tourist” photos of the bridges grates and supports.
Yup, that’s Islamic “outreach”–federal law enforcement officials sacrificing your national security for their ability to avoid the loud whines of Muslims. What wimps.
In 2003, at a Town Hall meeting Collins held to get good PR for himself (most of the audience was made up of Assistant U.S. Attorneys who were required to attend and ask softball questions), I asked Collins why he hung out with Al-Hanooti and others at LIFE For Relief and Development. He (and his minions) glared at me and responded that this was “the gold standard of outreach.”
More like the Fool’s Gold standard. And because he and Stephen Murphy III regularly met with and ate meals together with Muthanna Al-Hanooti, your tax dollars must now pay for the boys from Washington to come up here to try the case. And they generally lose.
Good luck, America. I won’t wish Muthanna Al-Hanooti luck because a) he doesn’t deserve it–he’s a traitorous scumbag, and b) he doesn’t need it–the feds are inept and will likely lose the case against him, the way they usually do.
Ask yourself and your President why he would nominate to the Federal Court of Appeals–the second highest court in the land–Stephen Murphy III, a man who was so tight with a spy for Saddam Hussein, that he must now recuse himself and his entire office from trying the case against that spy.
And ask yourself and your President why outreach to Islamic terrorism supporters and extremists is so much more important than Justice for Americans in the scheme of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan.

This is comedic. Actually comedic.
Let’s call in Spitzer. He’ll be strict with them.
How long until we have an AIPAC accusation?

This proves beyond a reasonable doubt exactly what DS has been saying about the United States Attorney in Dysfunctionoit Dearbornistan for a long time. It seems the only lesson learned from 911, is that the more money the federal government spends, the worse everything gets. The Department of Homeland Stupidity is the most obvious example of a very expensive solution becoming an even bigger problem.

I recall a gay lib at work mentioning that the arabs are under a lot of scrutiny in Dearbornistan where he lives. I told him “not enough for me.” To which he rolled his eyes and debated with me about the way things SHOULD be. Needless to say once again he is proven wrong.

ARE WE FIGHTING A WAR OR NOT?!!!
US Attorney’s don’t attempt outreach programs with special interest groups or suspect people. It is clearly and fundamentally unethical! The attorney’s job to prosecute criminals on our behalf and get a judge or jury to find them guilty.
If this is the behavior of our US Attorney’s, then what was all that flap about firing a few of them a while ago. Those attorneys were clearly guilty of unethical and immoral behavior – no question. There was evidence!
Now we have US Attorneys wine-and-dine with folks they should be prosecuting! @#$%!!!
If this is the gold standard in outreach, then we have no home front security. None whatsoever.
Deb, I hope this is ok with you: I’m recommending that every reader go purchase and receive training in a 12-gauge shotgun, a 3-0-6 handgun; plenty of ammo for both weapons, a trained guard dog, and a few pepper spray canisters as a MINIMUM to protect their families and homes. I also recommend a year’s supply of basic commodities of food, clothing, toiletries; 2 weeks worth of water; and savings of at least 4 months worth of wages. Also, folks should keep a 96-hour kit on or near their person always.
Americans need to take their security and welfare into their own hands, and the Fed obviously isn’t going to keep the enemy out. When terrorists strike again, folks should do everything in their power to ensure their own safety and well being before the strike.
It’s not a bunker mentality. I’ve done all this preparation. I keep living a great life of work, church and family, but when something bad comes up – I have no fear because I’m ready for it. So far, we’ve had to evacuate twice and sheltered-in-place once, and we had a great time doing it because we were ready for it!

I have been placing my comments on this blog for many months now. There are few subjects that get me as jacked up as pandering to the moozlums and the Mexicans.
I would like to add to phparkman’s comments. Our government is just as much of an enemy to us as are the moozlums or Mexicans. I have read that people in power fear a ‘redneck rebellion’ and this motivates there desire to remove weapons from the hands of citizens. Well what is coming is going to be a ‘redneck, white and blue’ rebellion. Our military has trained extensively in our streets for ‘urban warfare’. When Bush signed his executive order that would place himself as a ‘dick-tater’ over the American people the handwritting was all over the wall, ceilings, floor, roof and driveway!!!!! Folks, the bottom line is this. What you see happening in other nations is soon to visit our front yards. Bush has proven to be a backstabber who is now twisting the knife in the back of Americans.
I would like to add that rifles of either 5.56 x 45 or 7.62 x 39 should be considered due to the availability of ammunition. In other words an M-4, M-16 or a AK-47, SKS 59/66 should be in the home of every individual with no less than 2,000 rounds of ammunition. I would suggest the .45 ACP as the handgun to own.
I agree with this not being a bunker mentality. This is survival at it’s most basic elements.
When the government comes for our weapons we must shoot to kill with extreme prejudice. I will not foresake God or my country. Others paid the ultimate price so that I may enjoy the freedom. I am willing to pay that same price for all others that are yet to be born.

Debbie, I am so proud of you!! Seeing you on Powerline today gives you extra “street creds” and lends yourself to more national prominense. I had talked to Congresswoman Candice Millers office 6 months or so ago to make sure they were paying attention to your site. I will be sure to send along the article featured on Powerline to them too. YOU GO GIRL!!

What is a “3-0-6 handgun?”

Good advice: Better safe than sorry.

Debbie: Good work on exposing the seditionist tendencies in the US Attorney’s Office in Eastern Michigan. They remind me of Johnny Sutton down here in Texas who specializes in putting border patrol agents and deputies who dare arrest illegal aliens. I am sure you have probably addressed this before, but Bush’s FBI Director Mueller seems to have a crush on radical Muslims in general — and on CAIR, in particular.

gunjam on March 29, 2008 at 11:09 pm

P.S. can any Christian or Jewish or Buddhist or Hindu Americans on this forum tell me when the last time was that they received and invitation from their local U.S. Attorney’s office for an “outreach” lunch?
(I can’t either.)

For more detailed subject matter on this subject I recommend picking up Pat Buchanans STATE OF EMERGENCY. I am trying to get through it now without getting a case of hypertension. The elites have already declared war on this country and the middle class. The libs picked our candidate this year, the least we can do is reciprocate.

samurai – better watch your references. Buchanan is a fanatic, psychologically compulsive, dyed-in-the-wool antisemite and his Jew-hatred takes precedence over any other trivialities like defending against Muslim terrorists. As a result his columns contain fulsome praise of anti-American, antisemitic Muslim fanatics such as Sheik Yassin and Iran’s Ahmedinejad.

Gary Rosen on March 30, 2008 at 4:47 pm

I agree with Gary Rosen about Buchanan’s anti-semitism, and his hostility to Israel, and I find them repulsive. Although I have not read Day of Reckoning yet, I plan to, and have read some of Buchanan’s other books about immigration, and found much that I agree with. I will not waste time reading the American Conservative, Buchanan’s magazine, due to its focus on advocating Mideast policies that are in line with his antisemitism. I don’t agree 100% with what he says about immigration either; he was wrong, for example, to oppose relaxation of US immigration policies in the late 30s, when such relaxation would have allowed Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany to enter the US. I also take his books out of the library, to avoid his getting any of my money. But he says many valuable things about illegal immigration and the negative impact it is having on this country.
It is an indication of how prejudiced elite intellectual opinion is in this country that Buchanan is a major spokesman against illegal immigration. if there were more than a handful of opinion-makers against illegal immigration, maybe there would be a more appealing spokesperson for enforcement of immigration laws than Buchanan, but right now, he is one of the most prominent, and much of what he says on this subject (but not on the Mideast) is valuable. Not many other people are saying it.

Sorry. Not 3-0-6; I meant 30.06. Most folks out here use the slang 3-0-6.
Also a .32 or .357 works well for a minimum sidearm for most families. Make sure to get trained on how to properly use a firearm.
Thanks gunjam.

To Gary Rosen:
I had no idea. I will do some fact checking.
I spent a few years out on the left coast while in the military and I’ve seen the conquest and invasion up close. It’s not pretty. Pretty scary.

Great work Debbie kudos to you … No wonder the local US Attorney for the South Eastern District of Michigan is kissing the rear ends of the local Muslims… They pose the real threat to our nation…
I should know I have several friends who are members of a local Motorcycle Club here in Detroit who are currently under indictment for bs charges…
I told my buddies the Feds compliments of the class A ahole Murphy would be better off going after the Arabs but they don’t… Keep up the great work… I can not wait until Bush is out of office…
