Jihad Comes to Rio: Muslim Kills 12 @ Kids School, Cites Islam in Suicide Note

By Debbie Schlussel

Hey, it’s another “Religion of Peace” massacre of kids, this time at a school for poor kids in Rio.  Alhamdillullah [Praise allah].  And while the police admit that perpetrator was a devout Muslim who referred to Islam in his suicide note before murdering multiple children, they want to stress that there was no religious motivation here.  Alhamdillullah thelanthah [Praise allah, #2].

Rio De Jihado: Muslim Cites Islam in Massacre of Kids

RIO DE JANEIRO — At least 11 people, mostly children, died Thursday and more that 15 were wounded when an armed man attacked a school in Realengo in the poor suburbs of Rio de Janeiro.

According to a preliminary police report, the attacker — a 24- year-old former student at the school — was among the dead after shooting himself in the head. He attacked Tasso da Silveira school, where some 400 students ages 9-14 were in classes.

Police Col. Djalma Beltrami said the killer used two handguns and a lot of ammunition. The suspect left behind a letter, in which he anticipated committing suicide after the attack. Beltrami, however, gave no details of any possible motive.

Beltrami described the letter as “the words of a person who no longer believes in anything, full of sentences that made no sense and references to Islamic fundamentalism.”

Huh? Someone references Islam in a calculated pre-massacre letter, but that ain’t the motive?

Beltrami said the attacker was friendly as he went into the school, chatting with administrators and teachers and asking for permission to address the children. When he reached the third floor of the building, the suspect entered one of the classrooms and started to shoot at students, killing nine girls and one boy. . . .

Roselane de Oliveira, a sister of the attacker, told Rio de Janeiro radio station Band News that the young man “was very strange.”

“He had no friends, and he spent all his time on the Internet,” she said.

In recent months, she said, he appeared to have got closer to Islam.

BINGO.

Police stressed, however, that there was no concrete evidence that the attack had either a religious or a political motive.

Riiiiight.

AOL, the Washington Post, and AP News all FAIL TO MENTION THAT THE PERSON IS A MUSLIM.

Funny, they had no problem identifying Madoff as a Jew.

I am brazilian and I live in Rio, so I am well aware of the details involving this crime, since the Brazilian press is all over it. Additionally, as most of brazilians, I have a catholic family and background, with no relation whatsoever with Islam. That being said, It is important to say that the murder of Rio doensn’t mention the Islam in his suicidal letter at all. Actually, he mentions Jesus, asking Him to forgive his sins. So that’s the reason the American press didn’t mention that he was a muslim: simply because it isn’t true. If you want to check it yourselves, this link contais a copy of the letter:

    http://casadohippie.blogspot.com/2011/04/em-carta-atirador-que-invadiu-escola.html

You can see that he talks about Jesus (which has the same lettering in portuguese) at the end of the first paragraph. If you want to undestand the hole letter, just put it in google translate (from portuguese into english), and it will give you an idea of what he’s saying. It has nothing to do with Islam. He was actually a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses during his life.

Luis Almeida on April 11, 2011 at 3:58 pm

Great job Luis, I do not see any connection with Islam in the letter, it seems like a confused Christian. Amazing how people can twist things. Ignorance is bliss. Regardless of what religion he followed, what he did is a horrific act and he will go to hell.

Elizabeth on April 13, 2011 at 8:57 pm

The religion of peace and love strikes again. When will we in the civilized world (Brazil passes muster here — barely) learn not to admit these people to our countries under any circumstances? Even the “good” ones go bad.

Seek on April 7, 2011 at 4:57 pm

How stupid do they think the American public really is? What else could this be but Muslim terrorism directed at innocent civilians? It’s not like he went in and shot up a madrassah (or however you spell it).

DG in GA on April 7, 2011 at 5:03 pm

One commenter on another pro-Israel blog writes, “I´ve just seen a part of the letter left by the murderer, and it´s not clear from it that he was muslim. Though that part mentions his desire of a burial with some islamic traits, it later says he expects to be resurrected by the coming of Jesus.”

The first thought that comes to mind is this guy is religiously confused. On the other hand, those who believe in “the coming of Jesus” don’t go around killing and blowing things up, while those who convert to Islam (as he reportedly did) typically imbibe Islam’s hatred of non-believers, and killing them is just the next logical step.

RiDC: That doesn’t explain away the murderer’s sister saying he got very close to Islam over the net. DS

Jonathan Grant, AOL, Washington Post, AP and Yahoo News (my email account is on Yahoo, but their news is one of the worst on the internet) are all worthless websites that carries the news, I don’t take their news too serioulsy because their writers are complete ignoramouses.

DG, I agree with you, it’s predominatley islamist who does this garbage by doing suicide attacks, plotting all sorts of terrorist attacks, etc. It’s NOT the other way around, and I’m also beginning to think that islam is not a legit religion as some to most of you on this website claimed (when I first posted here, I thought some of you including Debbie was a little crazy and nutty, turns out all of you are 100% correct and know what your all talking about). And earlier on today, I saw this muslim woman with her child, and guess what folks, she was wearing a burka or hijab and that outfit that she wore covered her entire body from head-to-toe! I got a little pissed off at her for wearing an outfit like that in this country, I said to myself, “why are some of these muslim women in this country wearing that outfit in this country, the most advanced liberal-democracy in the world, and where the hell are the so-called womens movement?”

“A nation is defined by it’s borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on April 7, 2011 at 5:27 pm

    Sean:

You think that is bad? In our private community pool, I see the husband wearing regular swimming trunks, and the woman has a head to toe burka to go swimming. Too bad it wasn’t water absorbent. There’d be one less breeder of terrorists in the world.

Jonathan Grant on April 7, 2011 at 6:05 pm

Its never Islam.

After all, the Religion Of Peace never ever commits atrocities.

Its blamelessness, irrespective of the facts, must be preserved at all costs.

The man was not Muslim!

Brazilian press reported this afternoon that the letter spoke of being forgiven when Jesus returns to Earth.

This Islam thing is a rumor that ran in the morning.

Not so, in Islamic eschatology, it is the muslim belief that Jesus will return at the “end-times” … “and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya”.
Jesus (Issa) is regarded by muslims as an Islamic prophet whose beliefs have been perverted by “Christians”.

Sounds like he had a cultural knowledge of Jesus from Christianity. and it carried over into his Islam because “Jesus” is in the Koran.

Moreover, people in Brazil has almost no knowledge about Islam and can easily confuse the concepts when they hear of it.

Thinking of jihad here is exaggerating. I say because I’m Brazilian.

Angelica, you call yourself a journalist. However, you have already been shown to have erred regarding Islamic doctrine (eschatology, in this case), and there is other evidence that he was indeed a Muslim. In fact, it’s easy as pie to become a Muslim, as the requirements are so low.

You are not looking good here.

skzion on April 8, 2011 at 12:14 pm

Muslins do believe Jesus will come in judgment day, and they believe in reincarnation. The letter requested explicitly and detailedly a Muslim burial. Sounds like a diabolic touch to mention Jesus, it will make everyone think he was a Christian fundamentalist.

Watch for an increased muslim presence down there. The Olympics are scheduled for Brazil in 2016. The following is from an article, source quoted below. It basically states what we already know about any governmental stance w/ islam. (with the exception of Israel)

On the other hand, the primary concern of Brazilian and U.S. officials is not the Tri-Border region but “the presence and activities of individuals with links to terrorism–particularly several suspected Sunni extremists and some individuals linked to Hizballah [sic]–in São Paulo and other areas of southern Brazil.” Brazilian intelligence officials, meanwhile, have appealed to “moderate, second generation Arabs, many of whom were successful businessmen in Brazil, to keep a close eye on fellow Arabs who may be influenced by Arab extremists and/or terrorist groups.”

It is here that the Wikileaks documents offer a fascinating look into internal political fissures within the Brazilian political elite. According to U.S. officials, Brazilian sensitivity resulted “in part, from their fear of stigmatizing the large Muslim community of Brazil (estimated, but unconfirmed, by some sources at over 1 million) or prejudicing the area’s image as a tourist destination.” Perhaps more significantly, however, the Brazilian posture was “designed to avoid being too closely linked to what is seen as the US’s overly aggressive War on Terrorism.”

NormanF on April 8, 2011 at 3:08 pm

Portuguese to English translation (from Angélica to Guzman’s message):

    “Guzmán,

Also I am a Brazilian and I am accompanying attentively the whole repercussion of the case (even because of working in newspaper printed like reporter).

I believe that the hypothesis of the connection with the Islam is not so so probable. More recent reports say only that he was a “stand-offish” boy, of “strange” behaviour. The adopted sister herself, who lifted the conversion suspicion of Welington, said only that he had interest for terrorism, not exatamente on the religion.

Did the ritual with which it links ask to be buried it can have to do with the Islam? Yes, I do not deny. But what more attracts attention is the recent information, for report of the victims, of which he had quite definite targets: the prettiest girls of the school. There fits there also a suspicion of which the boy, ancient pupil of that school, was a victim of bullying wanting vengeance.

Finally, I understand your preoccupation with the religious war, believe myself to be them what in this case is not so simple to conclude like result of the Jihad. It had taken what is only a result of a perturbed mind, since the specialists have been saying.”

The criticism here is no longer the deed itself and began to judge Islam as being guilty, infuse an indictment, since there are no links with the killer’s religion, or unless a hypothetical similarity between the letter left with another one terrorist. This does not prove anything, let alone gives the right to judge the Islamic religion with the way they are doing. if you squeceram that 12 children were killed? Social, cultural or psychological led him to commit such an atrocity. Invez to discuss about religion, why not argue about the social model which we live? Why not discuss the motive which has led to these cases become common in schools? What’s wrong with our schools? Education that our children are having?

From Brazilian newspaper

Jornal do Brasil http://www.jb.com.br/rio/noticias/2011/04/07/irma-adotiva-de-atirador-diz-que-wellington-era-estranho-e-sem-amigos/

Translation: From Brazilian news paper – Jornal do Brasil

NEW YORK – In an interview with Radio Band News, Rosilane Menezes, sister of sniper Realengo said Wellington Menezes de Oliveira, who was adopted, it was strange, reserved and without friends.

Rosilane said the brother was not mentally balanced and eight months ago had moved from her home in Realengo to Sepetiba, also in the West.

“He was so focused on things related to Islam and had let his beard grow long. It was weird, was on the internet all day reading issues and it was very strange, very secretive, ” he said.

Wellington left a letter with disconnected sentences, but with characteristics fundamentalists, said Lt. Col. Djalma Beltrame, commander of 14 Battalion (Bangor)

– He was using sites Muslims and entered the internet to have access to things that are not part of our people. It’s crazy. Only a crazy person could do this with children – said the commander, who said the letter was delivered to the chief of homicide.

Why shouldn’t moslems kill children? Their “prophet” had sex with children, so it seems like a logical extension.

Letter from Wellington was similar to the September 11 terrorist

Rio – A letter left by Wellington Oliveira, 24, who killed at least 12 people in the school hall Tasso da Silveira, Realengo, Western Zone of Rio, on the morning of Thursday, and that Day had access exclusively, shows some similarities with another letter, written ten years ago by another assassin.

On September 11, 2001, terrorist Mohammed Atta, who hijacked a plane and shot into the World Trade Center in New York, United States, also left a document in which, like Wellington, gives instructions, requests for quotes funeral, religion (“good Muslims” and “faithful follower of God”), “impure people and women.

See the letter of the terrorist Mohammed Atta:

“In the name of almighty God, that’s what I want to happen after my death. My name is Mohammed, the son of Mohammed al-Amir Awad al Sajjid, I believe in Muhammad as the messenger of Allah and know that in time there will remain no doubts about it and Allah will resurrect those who are in their graves. I want my family, and anyone else who read this will, subject to Allah Almighty, do not be fooled by the life and follow Allah and his prophets, if you have faith. In my memory, I want to do what the prophet Ibrahim asked his son, dying as a good Muslim. When I die, I wish that those who inherit my possessions follow these instructions:

1 – Who will bury me for being a good Muslim, as it will prepare me for Allah and His Mercy.

2 – Who should you bury me close my eyes and pray that I go to heaven. Should I wear new clothes and do not let me be buried with the clothes they died.

3 – No one should cry for me, scream or tear their clothes or knocking on their face – these gestures are fools.

4 – No one in the past has not been given to me and kiss me, visit or say goodbye to me after I’m dead.

5 – Not pregnant or impure people must see me off – I do not want that.

6 – Women should not pray for my forgiveness. I will not be liable for animal sacrifices after my funeral – that would go against Islam.

The president of the National Union of Islamic Entities in Brazil, Jamel El Bacha, denied on Thursday that the gunman Wellington Menezes de Oliveira, 23, who attacked students and staff of a municipal school in Rio de Janeiro, has links with the representation and the Muslim religion. In a statement, the organization condemned the crime and called the act “insane and inexplicable.”

“[Regarding information about] a citizen of this possible link with the Islamic religion, then contradicted [by people close to Oliveifra], we reaffirm that he is not Muslim and has no ties with the mosques and charitable societies maintained by the community around Brazil, “says the statement.

Citing the holy book of Islam, the Koran, the president said the “principles of Islam preach peaceful conduct of their supporters and followers require an” absolutely different attitude to what some people want to hastily attributed to religion and its supporters. ”

“Whoever takes the life of an innocent person is as if he killed all mankind, the Quran says,” the statement reported. “We are directing all our prayers for the victims of this brutal act of violence against innocent children and their families.”

7 – Who will they mourn me think of Allah and pray that I am with the angels.

8 – Those who wash my body should be good Muslims. And there should be other people, unless absolutely necessary.

9 – Whoever wash my genitals should wear gloves, so I is not touched in that region.

10 – My clothes should be three pieces of white material, contact than any other silk or expensive material.

11 – Women should not witness my funeral or to visit my grave at any later date.

12 – My funeral should pass in an atmosphere of calm. Allah gives and evaluates the rest relying on three things: reading the Koran, and the funeral if the deceased was buried with devotion. My funeral should be conducted quickly, at a meeting in which many people can pray for me.

13 – I want to be buried alongside other good Muslims, with my face toward Mecca.

14 – I want to be lying on my right side. They should throw the earth over my body three times, reciting the words: “You come from dust, you are dust and to dust you will return. And the dust will be reborn a new man. “After that everyone should worship the name of Allah and testify that died as a Muslim believing in the religion of God. All who attend my funeral should pray for forgiveness.

15 – Who is present at my funeral should spend an hour near my grave, so I can enjoy his company, an animal must be slaughtered and their meat distributed amongst the needy.

16 – Is there a habit of thinking of the dead fortnightly or annually thinking about the dead. I would not like it, since it does not correspond to Islamic rites.

17 – At my funeral, no one should take as talismans proverbs. This is superstition. I prefer to use their time praying to Allah.

18 – Goods that leave should be divided as they say Islamic rules – as Allah has distributed them to us: one third for the needy and the poor. My books should go to a mosque. My will is to be executed by a Sunni leader. It should also be my countryman. It should be someone who follows the same traditions that I follow. If the ceremony does not respect the Islamic faith, punish the guilty. The ones I leave behind must fear Allah and do not believe the temptations of life – must ask Allah to be good and faithful. Those who do not follow the instructions in my will or otherwise contravene the rules of my faith, to respond.
