Ted Nugent Holds Own in NFL, NBA BabyDaddy Race – Another Kid He Abandoned

By Debbie Schlussel

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about how conservatives hypocritically either glamorize or ignore out-of-wedlock births in their ranks.  But I forgot to include Ted Nugent.  A few years ago–when I also wrote about Nugent’s multiple instances of draft-dodging (including getting a phony student deferment while he went on tour with his band)–I reported that Nugent fathered seven kids with five different women, only two of whom he married.  But I was wrong.  It’s now EIGHT KIDS with SIX different WOMEN on the Ted Nugent babydaddy scoreboard. Yet, conservatives, like his good friend Sean Hannity, continue to embrace this draft-dodging babydaddy.

BabyDaddy Ted Nugent w/ Ted Mann, 42, One of the Many Kids He Fathered & Abandoned

It’s hilarious to read Ted Nugent’s book, “Ted, White, and Blue: The Nugent Manifesto” which has a whole chapter lecturing Black America on “sexual ethics” and “sexual restraint,” and beseeches Black men to stop fathering children out of wedlock, telling them about the horrible results that happen to kids born without a dad.  Um, Ted, POT. KETTLE.  BLACK.  (Or in this case, White.) And that’s not to mention, that Nugent even got the parents of a teen girl to sign her over to him as her legal guardian, so he could have sex with her, just like his friend Steven Tyler also did with a teen girl.

Yup, Nugent now gives NBA and NFL players some pretty stiff competition in the babydaddy, out-of-wedlock birth category.  He recently discovered another one of several kids he gave up for adoption (other kids’ mothers have sued him for child support).  Ted Mann, 42, was probably better off having a real (adoptive) dad in his life, instead of the creepy sperm donor, Ted Nugent, who helped conceive him.

“It’s all win, win, win, win, win, win, win,” the guitarist and gun freak said Tuesday.

“He’s joining the coolest family in the world … Plus I have more ammo than any dad.”

Uh-huh. The ammo Ted Nugent keeps confusing with real bullets has contributed to plenty of fatherless kids. Coolest family in the world? All win, win?

Again, this abandoned son of Ted Nugent won big-time by avoiding this arrogant, conceited, derelict has-been Rock Star draft dodger as his dad most of his life.

Wake up, conservatives. Ted Nugent is a scumbag. And a sleaze. Nothing more.

hes a slime, but hes OUR slime.

Rather have HIM on our side of the battlefield than Roger Waters, Pete Seeger, Dixie Chicks etc…

HB: Then, you are a fraud and a hypocrite just like he is. My father and many others served when they were drafted during Vietnam. Many people died, while Ted Nugent dodged and toured. Neither Roger Waters nor the Dixie Chicks dodged the draft and let others die so they could cheat and lead the good life. And they didn’t give birth to eight children with six different people. That you excuse that tells us a lot about you–you have no standards or scruples unless the person is liberal, which makes you no different and no better than your counterparts on the other side of the ideological divide. And you and far too many conservatives are so predictable, b/c I knew when I wrote this that people like you with double standards for conservatives would come out and make these poor defenses of the indefensible Ted Nugent behavior. No, he’s not my slime. Speak for yourself. DS

There’s plenty of hypocrisy in everybody’s luggage Miss Schluesell including the women that went out loaded for bare with the sole purpose of “bagging” a rock star. If you want to go after Sean “Replacement Theology” Hannity do it, who cares but leave Ted alone. Trashing him just makes you look like a bitter old Jewish woman.

IRI: Ah, the Jew-haters come out in defense of Ted Nugent. Thanks for showing us your true colors, anti-Semite. I’m neither old nor bitter. But you are, indeed, a bigot. Have fun at the David Duke hearing. DS

I-RIGHT-I on March 16, 2011 at 7:07 pm

Deb, you are right. I think, though, that I am more troubled by Nugent’s draft dodging than by the elementary school class he bred out of wedlock. I have always hated those who were gung-ho for us to go to war, yet when their turn came, they turned yellow. John Wayne is a prime example of another scumbag who avoided WWII by claiming marriage and fatherhood. Funny, the army was comprised of so many husbands and fathers, yet he got out of the service. After the war, he paraded around like a patriot, criticizing draft dodgers and others who protested the Vietnam war.

I like the conservative heroes of yesteryear, like Glen Ford, Martha Ray, Jimmy Stewart, etc., who actually served their country. Even Reagan, who was as blind as a bat so he could not serve in the front, served in the U.S. Signal Corps during the war, making army movies. He could have made commercial theatrical releases like Wayne, but he did not profit off of the war.

Nixon and Ford served. Truman and Ike (obviously) served, Truman in WWI, and Ike in two wars.

I am disgusted by liberals for hating America. I am even more disgusted by the phony conservatives who evaded the draft and then demand that others risk their lives for G-d knows what.

And for those who are wondering, yes, I volunteered for the Navy, but was rejected for medical reasons, so I am not a hypocrite.

I can’t bring myself to take Ted Nugent seriously.

I don’t know why anyone else takes him seriously.

There is NO Santa Claus on March 16, 2011 at 7:54 pm

Let me tell you about Ted Nugent.

To me, he IS rock and roll.

He “doesn’t do drugs”.

He’s definitely “politically incorrect”.

He “speaks his mind”.

And certainly he has “no love for the bleeding-heart wimps that are making a mess of this great country of ours”.

But most of all, he’s an entertainer. Period.

I’ve spent a quarter-century of my life (mostly under an influence of my own making) defending his right to live as politically incorrect as possible.

Strange: I don’t always agree with what he says, mainly because of something that I eventually learned as I head deeper into my middle-ages…

If you squawk excessively about being not something that you are not, YOU ARE THAT SOMETHING.

(Addicts who have gone through rehab that are still using do that all the time. I should know – I’ve been there. Never again.)

Let’s not talk about the Nuge again, please. And thank you.

The Reverend Jacques on March 17, 2011 at 1:31 am

As much as I’ve always loved Ted Nugent’s music , I’ve always been disgusted by his sexual life. We conservatives gravitate too easily to any celebrity who professes to espouse our ideology. While he articulates his viewpoints well, actions speak louder than words. I’ll continue to like his music, but my hero is my late father.

Gregg S. on March 17, 2011 at 1:43 am

Who’s Ted Nugent? A musician, apparently, but with what band?

Michelle on March 17, 2011 at 10:30 am

(I posted something last evo but it got lost in the ether.)

Sorry, I agree with DS on this. Her rebuttal maps it out quite cogently.

You cannot cherry-pick your values and standards.

The Nuge sullied his own credibility by being such a man-whore.

I cannot overlook this on his part. I may as well go back to Liberalism.

And it’s a pity as I came a looooong way with The Nuge. Used to hate him like poison because he hunted (I adore animals), but once I stopped being a Lib, I was able to see the PROPER hunter’s prospective.

Skunky on March 17, 2011 at 10:52 am

I can’t ignore or accept Ted Nugent’s baby-daddy history, but that doesn’t mean I should reject his music. Great artists and athletes of all stripes often have led self-destructive and/or reprehensible lives in private, yet have left us with something noble and valuable. Partial list: Marlon Brando, Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, John Lennon, Lou Reed, Bobby Fischer, Phil Spector, Sam Peckinpah, Jake LaMotta, Muhammud Ali, John Coltrane, Babe Ruth, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and Ray Charles. I admire their work despite their infirmities, not because of them.

By the way, reality check: Roger Waters of Pink Floyd is English. If he “dodged” the draft, it certainly wasn’t the American one.

Seek on March 17, 2011 at 3:11 pm

Schlussel, you happen to be probably the only person from either of the political side to point out that Ted Nugent is a draft-dodger, we all know that’s not good. And JEG, I didn’t know that John Wayne (my favorite actors of all time) dodged the draft at the beginning of WW2, I wouldn’t consider John Wayne a “scumbag” (as you pointed out JEG), I’ll just consider him a “hypocrite” for criticizing those who opposed the Vietnam War. Now since I don’t have any children, I’m not going to talk about “Family Values”, I believe if your married with children, you can talk about family values, or if your a single mother or single father with kid(s), you can talk about family values.

I don’t care what Ted Nugent does in the privacy of his bedroom with women, I happen to be a sexual-libertarian myself, just as long you don’t involve children into sex acts. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not making excuses for Nugent, he’s wrong for having children with different women, animals do that crap with eachother. Nugent should’ve done the right thing by staying with one woman and have as many children with that one woman, instead of going out with multiple women & having numerous children with different women, that’s wrong from Ted Nugent!

“A nation is defined by it’s borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on March 17, 2011 at 3:19 pm

Sean, you’re a decent bloke, so really, you SHOULD speak about family values.

We need as many peeps who believe in family values to proudly speak out on them.

The rubes are winning because not enough of us are standing our ground.

Skunky on March 17, 2011 at 6:52 pm

I like your politics Debbie. I like how you call out everybody regardless of which side they’re on. You get lots of good things in motion and to the public.

Great news and Great work.

MDE on March 17, 2011 at 4:04 pm

There is such a thing as right and wrong. Which many conservatives appear to lost sight of.

In their embrace of people with sleazy values and living irresponsible lives, they’re no different than liberals who the same thing.

Except liberals don’t pretend there’s anything wrong with that. The people who embrace Nugent and Palin do and that’s exactly what makes them world class hypocrites in their lecturing to others about morality and family values.

NormanF on March 17, 2011 at 4:38 pm

I have no great love of Ted Nugent’s music. He has a couple of songs that I like to hear on the radio. As for his politics, I seem to think similiar to Mr. Nugent in as much as I believe in the outdoor sports-hunting and fishing and the belief that freedom is the empowerment of this entire way of life-Americana. I do not think he is however a good role model for younger people and I do not agree with his lifestyle, but I must consider that he is human with all his imperfections. Just as I have as well. I look at the political spectrum and all I have to concern myself with is the viewpoints he or she demonstrates with their actions, speech, lifestyle. Though I dislike his womanizing I am willing to overlook these things if his core beliefs are about economic freedom and a strong representation of the values of our Constitution- if they pass that muster I’ll accept them as being on my side, though they may show defects. Thank you for your time. you are welcome to email me @ krcwriting@yahoo.com

Kevin Carraway on March 17, 2011 at 4:39 pm

Kevin, the Constitution is only as good as the people who are supporting it. If we create a society where it’s okay to abandon your children the way that it has been alleged, it absolutely will not survive.

Richard Eldridge on March 17, 2011 at 6:14 pm

Kevin–

I understand where you’re coming from, but Deb is correct in the sense that overlooking and more or less accepting low morals and sleazy behavior drives us ever downward.

I assure you that if you were transported back 30 years and related what the future (our present) is like, no one would believe you. The deterioration of this country is truly shocking, and let me tell you, the extent of this is hidden from most people.

Sadly, virtually all of our institutions are in ruins, and our “Leader” can do nothing more than hide and take more vacations.

Reality check time: “Getting back to the Constitution” cannot make up for widespread moral decay. Talk about re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic…

Red Ryder on March 17, 2011 at 6:04 pm

I really like some of his tunes and he IS an inventive guitarist for his era, but I always hated his posturing personality.
Always with the loud guitars, big guns, hot babes, fancy cars, etc. (aka. penis extensions). He’s a very loud and shallow human being. If I knew him personally, I’d wish I didn’t.
The fact that he’s so tough with his guns against something that can’t fight back but chicken shit scared to go up against other men just proves what a coward he truly is.
As Zappa said: “Shut Up and play your guitar!”

And this post is coming from a man who was totally against the Vietnam War, but respects those who served.

theShadow on March 18, 2011 at 12:46 am

Debbie is right. I was never crazy about Nugent, but I know he is a friend of Rush Limbaugh, of whom I am a big fan.

The draft-dodging and illegitimate children can’t be shrugged off because the guy is allegedly a “conservative.”

PDMac60 on March 18, 2011 at 11:04 am

Will someone tell me who meets everyone’s perfect requirement? Because I’d like to meet them. I am sure that eveyone of you has some serious character flaw of some sort. I don’t like Ted Nugent’s womanizing, like I have previously stated, but you have placed a requirement on someone to be blameless, when there is no one blameless, period, and if you tell me you are then you’re a liar. Nugent displays a self-reliance, a sort of ruggedness that frankly needs to be seen more often, because we are raising a nation of wimps. Abandoning his children his horrible, for Nugent or anyone else involved and is a representation of low moral character, but I still choose to look at his positives and push those elements. I am as conservative as they come- I think government should spend money on National Defense….and that’s all. I don’t agree with SS, MC, Welfare or any other gov expendature and I have tried to live a life of worthiness and decency, but I can assure I have done things you wouldn’t believe. While I am living a life of law abiding prinicples I can make an enemy regret the day their parents ever had their first conversation, but most that know me seem to respect me and like me. I speak for what I believe, and I believe in our American way of life and I am willing to fight for it, but if I or you are expecting to follow a conservative that has no skeletons in their closet…then good luck- you have a long search ahead of you. We are all flawed, especially me. I apologize for that, but I am.

Kevin Carraway on March 18, 2011 at 2:55 pm

Kevin–

Perhaps you are missing the point. It is not a matter of Deb holding out for the perfect individual. Indeed, in later postings, she herself got fooled by Grant Hill’s phoniness.

Rather, it is that we should be far more discerning in whom we praise–especially if those people are public/political figures.

Furthermore, don’t push this bit of accentuating someone’s positives too much, either. There has never been a person who did not have some positives. (Hitler loved animals, Manson was very musical, etc.)

If you really are a believer in our “American way of life,” you must agree that our biggest problem at present is total abandonment of moral principles.

We are *way* past the point whereby a return to the Constitution will fix anything at all–if there ever *were* such a time.

At the very time the Constitution was drafted, there were voices such as Patrick Henry of Virginia, and Luther Martin of Maryland who could predict exactly what is happening now.

Martin noted that the framers were crypto-monarchists whose wish it was to abolish and annihilate all state governments, and to bring forward one general government of a monarchical nature, under certain restrictions and limitations. And that was back in November of 1787.

Yes, Kevin, the fix was in from the very beginning.

I had a high school buddy,Rob Borrink, who was such a great guitarist he actually briefly joined Ronnie Hawkins and the boys just after Rob left high school, though he didn’t become an official member of The Band.In the late 60’s and early 70’s when I was in high school-I’m 57-Windsor,Ont.,and its sister city on the U.S. side of the Ambassador Bridge,Detroit,Mich.,had an ex-
ploding rock scene divergent from Motown. One venue, the Interses-
sion Club, featured Windsor and Detroit bands, and Nugent, with or without his band, the Amboy Dukes, often came to the Intersession to play. One night when Rob’s band,Amitrof, who won the 1970 Windsor Battle Of The Bands at Jackson Park in South Windsor,
Nugent was there, heard Rob and challenged him to a jam,at which I’ve been told these past two generations-I did not attend because my Detroit Tigers were playing that night-
Rob’s axe-work BLEW AWAY NUGENT’S,and he slunk out of the Intersession. He returned a few more times, but made sure Rob was nowhere in sight before he and his boys went on-stage.
Rob,52(twenty-three days short of his 53rd birthday)died of a heart attack Apr. 7-Easter Eve-2007.Nugent’s still here spreading his brain-dead,bigoted b***-s*** to his cadre of loyal,lamb-like followers.TED NUGENT SUCKS DONKEY B**LS!!!

RideThisHandsomeBlackCowboy on April 1, 2011 at 10:53 am

What is all of this nonsense? You have a wild imagination about Ted Nugent and Rob Borrink. Ted didn’t challenge Rob to anything. Your description of Ted cowering in case Rob was around is a bunch of garbage talk. Ted was not there when we won the battle of the bands. Amitrof was not Rob’s band – It was OUR band. Paul Warren created “Amitrof” not Rob Borrink. You better stop your ridiculous lies. What are you trying to do – re-write history? What a goof you are!
