That just confirms why I dont spend a single minute watching dreck tv like that. Very funny video but I pity the producers who had to wade through that crud to put that together.

I have to ask, what on EARTH would cause any woman to want to be subjected to a show like that????

Sad state of affairs for our country when junk like that is produced over, and over, and over again.

Sorry single mums. You have a kid and no man, that means 18 years of no love-life for you. You should be loving bringing up your kid…alone if daddy can’t hack it.

I wonder if things would work out better if the Bachelor and Bachelorettes were to reserve physical intimacy until after the last show, once they’ve made their choice, and narrowed it down to one person.

Why do they even go on this show? These “relationship” shows and others like them (like The Carters, where Nick Carter brought his siblings together, on screen, to try to work out their differences – ON SCREEN – bad idea. They should have worked things out in private) will not work. People may be relatively at ease in front of the cameras, eventually, but you’ll never see their real, true private selves until there is no one else watching.

The Bachelor picks one (with whom he’s already been physically intimate, but doesn’t really know), and then they get more personal without the cameras, and come to realize, six months later, that they don’t know each other, and they were both faking it for the cameras.

If it weren’t for Jimmy Kimmel’s nightly monologues, I would be completely unaware of the existence of “The Bachelor.” And I’ve got a hunch that this also applies to just about everyone else who regularly visits this website.

Pickup lines generally don’t work. They sound rehearsed and every woman alive has heard them.

There is a way to find a partner but that’s all pain, no glamor and it takes years before you know its a match made in heaven.

That’s what they never show on the so-called “reality” shows and no I wouldn’t subject myself to one.

These reality shows are scripted. People watch as if these are real situations with honest consequences.

The only reason to watch The Bachelor (last minutes of the show) is because it leads into Castle which is a very well written mystery — a true old-fashioned who-done-it — that’s well worth looking into. It’s also very well acted, doesn’t rely on cliches or pat politically correct villains. (However Castle’s mother is an absolutely horrible character, but just put up with her, she’s only a minor character.) The Bachelor is simply repulsive – stupid and dishonest. By the way Debbie, the word “bimbo” was originally (1920s) applied to men! See P. G. Wodehouse novels.

GL: Gotta take issue with you on “Castle.” Last week and the week before, the show did a two-part, heavily promoted set of shows in which the “real terrorist” was a U.S. soldier who fought in Iraq or Afghanistan and set up “innocent, law-abiding” Muslims as terrorists, when they weren’t. If that isn’t politically correct, I don’t know what is. DS

Like GL, I’m a big fan of “Castle” and have been from the beginning. I don’t understand why she finds (Rick) Castle’s mother to be “absolutely horrible”. Her free spirit and Rick’s roguish charm offer bookends with smart and responsible Alexis in the middle. And where else on TV does one find a three-generation family as devoted to one another? Great writing, great chemistry between Castle and Beckett. What’s not to like?

But I join DS in her response to that two-part episode, and there were lots of fans who were similarly appalled. The very suggestion that three US Special Forces guys – the very sort who put their lives on the line for this country – would ever set off a dirty bomb and we’d need a Syrian operative (!) to thwart such an attack is beyond ludicrous. Hopefully the network got the message that such story lines are beyond the pale and they give us back the “Castle” we love.
