Mitt Happens . . . Again: Romney Still Doesn’t Get Jihad

By
–and I’ll say it again–it’s bad news when liberal Democrats are the toughest ones against the jihadist threat. But that’s exactly the way it is.
Yesterday, on “FOX News Sunday,” Iowa Straw Poll winner Walter “Mitt” Romney demonstrated yet again that he’s a clueless flip-flop-flipper when it comes to Islam and terrorism. He told host Chris Wallace that one of the things he’ll do differently (from Bush) to fight Islamic extremism and terrorism is to “hire people and work . . . to move the Islamic world into modernity.”

Here we go again. It sounds like George W., the Sequel.
Uh, hasn’t he heard? Al-Qaeda is more modern than we are. They use cellphones to blow up cars (and U.S. soldiers). They have the highest-tech websites. Not sure if he’s actually seen this, but they even have video equipment on which a few notable people–Bin Laden, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Adam Gadahn a/k/a Azzam Al-Amriki–have appeared spouting off messages against America, to recruit new jihadists. I know those videos are obscure, and you wouldn’t know about them . . . if you lived on Mars. But they’re there.
The Islamic world is well into modernity. Has Romney seen Dubai? Riyadh? Skyscrapers, computers, technology of the highest order. What–he hasn’t heard? Dubai just acquired Barneys New York. Several Gulf States have Saks Fifth Avenue, Dolce & Gabbana, etc.
This ain’t about modernity. It’s about religion and religious thought, which has managed very well to adapt to modernity to spread its jihadist ways.
That Romney still doesn’t get it, means he doesn’t deserve to get to the White House. Period.
Sorry, we don’t need more Karen Hughes and Fran Townsends donning hijabs for Islamists around the world and playing international dhimmi.
We need a President who actually knows what’s going on and is ready to get tough with a VERY MODERN and very extreme Islamic world.
That ain’t Mitt.
Mitt Happens . . . but hopefully never in the White House.

Maybe it is better we have these extended running periods. Gives you a lot of time to get to hear all of them talk. Maybe there is something to chatting.

Dudley Dooright in an empty suit.
When will those Iowans get a brain? Can’t they see what an empty suit this guy is?

I agree Debbie, he doesn’t get it. Maybe Fred will get it. We’ll have to wait and see what he says, if ever. You think Carl is out, or will Fred pick him up too?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first of Debbie’s attacks on him re: the SLC Olympics, given his record as governor in probing mosques. But if he is going to try and help out these ‘moderate’ Muslim countries, he’s pretty worthless.
I endorse Tancredo!

No way I’m voting for another phony Republican who’ll say ANYTHING to get power. This guy will forget about you 2 nanoseconds after you elect him.

What you fail to appreciate is that only Mitt Romney can deliver the hair quality that Americans demand in a president. Remember, if you vote for Mitt, you’re really voting to elect his suit too. And hair.

Wow. She’s accusing Romney of being ignorant on the subject and has the balls to write this? The way she talks about terrorist leaders and Al-Qaeda shows that she’s highly generalizing Islamic people.
