Merry Christmas to All of My Christian Readers & Friends

By Debbie Schlussel
To all of my Christian Readers & Friends, I wish you a very joyous and merry Christmas, full of family, good food, and fun. Enjoy.
Remember, it is because of America’s strong Christian tradition that we have not fallen to Islam in the way Europe, er . . . Eurabia is. About 75% of Americans are Christians. It is because of your strong faith that I am able to freely practice my faith. While some try to erase references to Christmas in America–whether in commerce or in education, whether in Hollywood or in trying to decimate Nativity scenes at the local city hall lawn–I am not among them. I do not share your religion and nor some of your religious beliefs, but I celebrate that you celebrate.

This is wrong on so many levels and begs to be refuted… but not today.
Merry Christmas!
Feliz Navidad!

Norman Blitzer on December 24, 2007 at 12:50 pm

Thanks, and all the best back to you.
To Norman Blitzer,
Grow up and for Christ sake, speak English, unless you revel in the undermining of America, you moron!

West Dearbornistan on December 24, 2007 at 1:44 pm

West Dearbornistan,
You are proof of “stupid is as stupid does”. Your mamma and pappa were obviously brother and sister…
jackals.

Norman Blitzer on December 24, 2007 at 1:59 pm

Thank you so much Debbie. May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob watch over Israel and the USA in the coming year.

bouzouki on December 24, 2007 at 2:16 pm

blitzer, you’re a miserable troll.

John Cunningham on December 24, 2007 at 2:29 pm

I’m not the troll here, but John Cunningham, you are quite the idiot.

Norman Blitzer on December 24, 2007 at 2:46 pm

blitzie beyatch, are you really human? Come on, fess up, now.

John Cunningham on December 24, 2007 at 2:49 pm

Norman Blitzer….
Ya know, you just couldn’t resist shitting on this thread could you? So much for your hypocrisy (“Not Today”) in your first comment.
Everybody is an idiot, stupid or worse, except you, right? No matter, I hope you have a nice day tomorrow, even if you feel only you deserve it.

Zoyadog on December 24, 2007 at 3:06 pm

Debbie, Merry Christmas
Blitzer. That’s right. It is Muslims and atheists protecting religious freedom. And moonbats like you. Sheeeesh. Try to conceal your hatred, will you?

Who’s “Everybody”? Do you think West Dearbornistan and Cunningham’s responses are appropriate for this thread at this time? Who’s sh*tting on this thread? If WD and C didn’t give such vulgar responses, there wouldn’t be this flame war now. There was nothing wrong with my first post and for you to accuse me of being a hypocrite because of my “Not Today” comment only shows that you’re an idiot as well, Zoyadog. Do you right wingers have nothing else better to do than to make yourselves look like stupid jerks on Christmas Eve?

Happy Holidays to all my fellow liberals/Democrats !

John Cunningham on December 24, 2007 at 4:05 pm

With all due respect to good ol’ Norman here, you’re the one that has gotten everyone stirred up over your facetious remarks. Can’t you let everyone go into their holiday with out getting underneath their skin? Its very childish and making you look more foolish than you already made yourself out to be.Let everyone have a Happy Christmas. We owe all to them after what they have done for us. I speak as a jew myself, I am glad and relieved that America is predominately a Christian nation and not a Caliphate state or a Communist regime governed by aetheists.
Merry Christmas and G-D Bless America!

American Sabrah on December 24, 2007 at 4:38 pm

Well American Sabrah, you seem to be doing a good job of making yourself look like a fool, you don’t need much help from me. Go re-read the thread and see who started the flame war before you make yourself look like a childish idiot again.

Debbie, if you move here next X-Mas eve I’ll bring you some kosher Chinese takeout.

Anonymous1 on December 24, 2007 at 8:04 pm

Herr Blitzer….
I stand by my comments about you. The vulgarity was introduced by you with the comment about incest among jackals. You said “Not Today” and then immediately responded with bile. You trolled for adverse commentary and got it. Shallow as a paper plate is too good a description of you, Keyboard Kommando is more like it. I wonder how many people there are who disagree with you that you call idiots and stupid face to face?
We both know that answer to that don’t we, Sweetie Pie?

You should be asking that question to West Dearbornistan, not me. You’re nothing but a lapdog.

Merry Christmas Debbie!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

rougman on December 24, 2007 at 11:15 pm

Thanks for posting this Debbie. I couldn’t have said it better. I think Christians need to see that there are a lot of Jews who don’t stand with the ACLU in trying to destroy the joy of Christmas.

AmericanJewess on December 25, 2007 at 2:30 am

Herr Blitzer….
Again you don’t answer the question about whether you run your mouth face to face instead of just over a keyboard. I’ve run across others like you elsewhere, one track broken record rants r’ us types….essentially a blog pollutant sewer fount, if you will. If I’d wanted WD’s comment, I’d have asked for it. I didn’t, I asked you. As usual, you answer with another invective, and skip a direct response.
You’re nothing but a frustrated little ambush twerp calling anyone who disagrees with you idiot, stupid, incest-bastard, jackal, and now lapdog. You seem to prefer giving directions rather than ordinary response in conversation. You do this even when you have no clue about the person you are addressing.
For the record, I am not a Christian, not a Jew, not a Muslim, nor any other religious affiliation, but perhaps a bit more Buddhist and Confucian, with a taint of Celtic/Druid and North American aboriginal Nativist thought, than nothing at all. I’m a bona-fide heathen, never baptized nor otherwise confirmed in any faith. Fact is, I consider the North American Gray Wolf a more advanced species than man in most of his incarnations. Since it is not “my” holiday per se, I can take the time and bother to pester you in your little hidey hole….entertained by wondering what pejorative you will hurl next.
I respect the religions of the world, and admire Debbie’s assertion, and believe she is right…that in the USA we are free to be what we are because of the Christian principles behind the founding of the nation, as much as any other influence, which by definition includes a very strong Judiac influence. And it’s not like Debbie has never chewed me out, but it is that I do try and not whine about it. Unlike you. Unlike you I know I am not always right and know that thought process requires consideration of opposition ideas. You see, in that aspect, you are wholly a fraud.
You may not accept that assertion, which puts you at odds with the vast majority of people I have met and lived with around the world. Never mind the majority of registered Democrats, of which I was one for over 40 years, until 2004 in fact. Mostly you believe in entitlement for the cognosenti, which underlies your predeliction to giving directions, hurling invectives, and not responding otherwise.
Other than that, I still prefer that you have a nice day.
With not one ounce of respect, I remain
Zoyadog (Typekey) aka Aridog elsewhere ( and not all that hard to identify fully if you know how)

Zoyadog on December 25, 2007 at 4:08 am

For everyone else who reads and posts here, Merry Christmas, whether your holiday or otherwise, and a heartfelt “thank you” to Debbie Schussel for posting this thread and again reiterating it’s theme.

You know Debbie, you remind me alot about Christmas.
You know why?
Because you’re a hot tamale!!
Merry Christmas..!!!

tita2juju on December 25, 2007 at 4:21 am

Zoyadog,
Your long childish, idiotic rant on Christmas Day says a lot about you. I know more about you than I care to. Again re-read the thread and get it through your thick skull that you are wrong. Now do shut up fool and don’t continue this flame war.
Merry Christmas, Zoyadog the lapdog!

>”…get it through your thick skull that you are wrong. Now do shut up fool…”<
How quant. More “orders,” still no answers. BTW…I was up at this hour because my dogs heard a noise and woke me to go outside….so I checked to see the latest pejorative. What’s your excuse? Apparently, you also missed the fact I am not a Christian regarding today versus any other day.

Despite the apparent “unholy war” progression that this thread has taken, based on an offering of good will and recognition on Debbie’s part toward those among her readership of the Christian faith, I’d like to follow on with the intent of the original entry-
My father, having survived the horrors of eastern Europe as a child in WW2, always taught me to remember that as a Christian, the foundation of our faith is the very same as of the Jewish faith, and that our Savior was himself a Jew.
So, why is it, that during a season whose most profound message is “Peace on Earth to Men of Good Will”, we find this sort of disingenuous drivel proclaimed by the likes of Blitzer?
Christians and Jews share a common belief in the same Creator and in His message and wishes for mankind, despite the differences in ritual and practice. The message and meaning of both faiths is far greater than the details of the practice of either.
Thank you for your expression of appreciation Debbie- I mean that not in having presented it in a gratitude sense, but from a position of mutual understanding and respect.
Happy Holidays everyone.

Zoyadog, he most likely waited up all night for Santa Claus. Santa never showed up.

John Cunningham on December 25, 2007 at 8:04 am

Thank you for the nice “peace and co-existance” cartoons with your blog entry.
When I was a kid, since Christmas was a day off for all of us but as Jews we did not celebrate it, it would still be a good stress-free day where everything was closed and you just forgot about the work-a-day world and relaxed. And most years, we would still join a celebrating neighbor or friend for dinner since they would invite us (often they would in turn come visit during one of the nights of Chanukah or one of the Passover Seders). It was a nice way to “celebrate that you celebrate” without being an apostate (these friends/neighbors mostly went to Midnight and Morning Mass and we certainly didn’t join on that).
While these friends/neighbors have gone out of town so we don’t join for dinner anymore my wife’s family had their own somewhat similar tradition where on Christmas Eve (or the night of Christmas Day if the weather was bad) when it would usually be less crowded than the rest of the season we’d go down to Manhattan to marvel at the wonder of the giant Rockefeller Center tree and the elegant department store window displays (many of which do nowadays include menorahs and dreidals, etc. as well), followed by dinner in Chinatown (open even on Christmas Day since most Chinese are not Christian and do not celebrate the holiday either). We did this last night (and judging from the number of tourists from Asian countries and surprisingly even a couple of families in yarmulkas and/or Hasidic garb we saw, probably not so unique). I am proud that even at 6 and 4 respectively my kids are understanding enough to know that this is “admiring others culture” and enjoy their menorahs and dreidals enough to not ask things like “why don’t we have a tree/wreath”, etc.
A Happy and Merry to all!

bhparkman on December 25, 2007 at 2:43 pm

Thanks DS. Please forgive a statement of faith “indulgence” here.
What a different world this would be if Jesus had never been born! I for one want to go on record that I believe this Jesus, whose birth we remember at Christmas IS indeed the Messiah ben David–the blessed hope of Israel and Saviour-Redeemer of all God’s children. He is the One who will stand at the judgment as the judge of all mankind–both the redeemed and the damned.
Does his rejection by the nation of Israel (as a whole) follow a pattern?? Hmmmmm, lets see….there was Joseph, there was Moses, there were many of the prophets–whom were not recognized by the people as legitimately “sent” by this very G-d who had indeed sent each of them to save. Joseph and Moses both saved their people through incredible trials which proved who using each of them to “save.”
So with Israel back in the promised land after so long an exile without the promised land–we await Jesus’ return to earth to save the remnant of Israel (who will survive/pass through the judgments in the Holy land and the in rest of the world). The cauldron is heating up more and more over there. This is the context of this blessed celebration time–no matter how much it gets lost in the tinsel, shopping, lights and wrapping paper! The greatest gift of all is G-d giving us his very own Son.
Norman–I wish you a Merry Christmas!! You remind me of a humbug, fella. Merry Christmas!

Christmas and Easter, wonderful times when I see people in church I haven’t seen since last year.

This article debunks the standard Leftist anti Israel fare that sprouts like evil weeds at this time of year.
http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/45884734/critiques/new/Pallywood_Xmas_Special.asp
It especially dismantles that vile screed published in the WSJ.

Facts of Life on December 26, 2007 at 8:18 am

To Blitzer:
Let’s see. The progression is this- Debbie offers a statement of appreciation and respect for and towards Christians on a holiday by saying-
“Remember, it is because of America’s strong Christian tradition that we have not fallen to Islam in the way Europe, er . . . Eurabia is. About 75% of Americans are Christians. It is because of your strong faith that I am able to freely practice my faith.”
To which you reply, to start off this nonsense:
This is wrong on so many levels and begs to be “refuted… but not today.”
Tossing that out without any context or explanation to start this stream of crap running on what should be a relatively inoccuous commetary isn’t disingenuous? and then upi say I don’t know what I’m talking about?
Back during the cold war they had a very accurate word to describe a person who does what you do in general and here as a rule- AGITPROP…
Someone else said it before- Grow up, Norman.

Mistress_Dee on December 26, 2007 at 8:23 am

Mistress_Dee, you are an illiterate twit. It was a tongue in cheek comment because Debbie put a political spin on her message to which I also added “Merry Christmas”.
Mistress_Dee, next time shut up and take your own advice.
Grow up, Mistress_Dee.

Norman Blitzer on December 26, 2007 at 11:15 am

Actually Mistress_Dee, I don’t think a spoiled brat like you should be giving any advice at all.

Norman Blitzer on December 26, 2007 at 12:31 pm

Thanks, Debbie, for the wise words. All this anti-Christmas stuff is just sibling rivalry. I wish all the bad-tempered grinches had your maturity.
All the blessings of the season to you and yours!
