VIDEO: Best & Worst New Superbowl 2011 Ads

By Debbie Schlussel

Some companies are releasing their Super Bowl 2011 ads early.  Among the ones I’ve seen, here are the best and worst (with Doritos sticking to its usual utter grotesqueness).

BEST (I especially love this because, aside from being incredibly cute, it shows a loving father like I was lucky to have–terrific):

WORST:

LOL! I liked the freaky second one.

C’mon, we all know freaks like that. LOL!

Deb,
The VW commercial was funny…..and the Doritos commercial was nasty.

This one isn’t a Super Bowl commercial, but I think it’s hilarious. I love the way the big-mouth guy tries to save face at the end.

Lol on the Doritos one. I didn’t know whether I was laughing at it or with it. I guess, both.

Oh that sucks….literally for the Doritos comm. I personally liked the pug commercial that was up for the superbowl. Too bad it got beat out by the PC crowd. Instead of a cute pug and glass door senario, we get the black and gay guy commercial.
I wonder if the chosen Pepsi commercial will be the one featuring a black couple where in the end a white women jogger is assaulted with a can of pepsi. Oh can’t wait too watch….NOT

VW makes excellent cars… the New Beetle is my favorite car and it drives as well as the Golf – based on the same platform.

Now that’s a funny commercial from the German car maker – although its cars manufactured for the North American market are produced in Puebla, Mexico to hold down import costs.

The new Passat that is featured in the VW commercial is being built in Chattanooga, Tennesse.

I agree. More often than not fathers in commercials are portrayed as complete idiots.

Isn’t that the truth? It really bothers me the way men (fathers in particular) are portrayed in tv ads and tv shows!

That looks like islam is the light doll in the first one!

Yep. The Doritos ad seems gay.

The best one, is the banned/rejected one,for Jesushatesobama.com.

Every concept that starts with “Jesus hates…” is soooo similar to “religion of peace”, and utterly pathetic.
If someone has really hard time reading books, then ask an atheist what’s in gospels.

Nah, the worst was easily the Test Baby from whatever hotel website it was advertising. Everyone in the room simultaneously said “Ewwww!”

This VW ad was my favorite. You don’t need a super budget for a hit ad, just cultural sensitivity.

There was another VW ad, doubtless very expensive, visualizing an insect crawling through the forest. But that ad only appealed to entymologists.
