FREE Pizza IF Super Bowl Goes Into OT
I love to tell you about free stuff even when I cannot partake. For my non-Jewish, non-kosher readers, you might get a free pizza with up to three free toppings (value: $10), if you register to join Papa John’s Pizza’s “My Papa Points.” It depends on whether or not the Super Bowl goes into overtime. IF the Super Bowl goes into OT, Papa John’s is giving out coupons for the free pizza to everyone who registers prior to game day, Sunday. And you could also win a $45 gift card to the pizza chain:
If the Packers-Steelers game goes into overtime this Sunday, Papa John’s International Inc. may be shelling out a lot of free pizzas.
The Louisville, Ky., chain has pledged to give away a large pie with up to three toppings (approximate retail value: $10) to any customer who registers in advance for its special overtime promotion.
Of course, the odds are on Papa John’s side: The big game has never gone into overtime in its 44-year history. But just in case, the franchise has insured the promotion should any of its 2,800 U.S. restaurants “get slammed” with redemptions, says spokeswoman Tish Muldoon. (Customers who have already stuffed themselves during the game can redeem the free pies through June 30.) . . .
Papa John’s, which is a sponsor of the Super Bowl, sold roughly 940,000 pizzas during last year’s game – a record for the company. This year, on top of the overtime promotion, Papa John’s will also give away $45 gift cards every 45 seconds to randomly selected consumers who place orders online this Sunday, starting at 10 am. About 25% of the company’s sales are Web-based.
Like I said, this promotion isn’t for me. But for my non-Jewish readers who don’t keep kosher, I thought you might be interested, especially in this tough economy. A free pizza that size could feed a family, and a gift card of that amount could feed them a few times.

Thanks Deb. I work in an orthodox Jewish neighborhood, so most of my lunches are Kosher, even though I am not Jewish. But I would never eat Papa John’s “Ketchup on Wonder bread”. If they paid me to eat it, I might consider though….
