Again I have to say, this surprises anyone? Though I do appreciate any opportunity to make the ACLU look like hypocritic A**Holes. You have to admit though even the ACLU doesn’t make any bones about their hypocrisy and any sane person who knows the organization already knows their agenda. The only thing they haven’t done yet (and don’t hold your breath) is to say “Oh yeah, we love islam and hinduism, atheism, etc… but that jewish/christian thing is not ok.” It’s like they continue to do whatever the hell they want and thumb their noses at America and because they haven’t come straight out and admitted that they are a racially, religously, culturally bias organization, we just allow them to exist and prosper in our society. If you ask me that is the real tradgedy.

Debbie, get someone to file a lawsuit against the city. In Los Angeles, County, the board of supervisors gave in and removed the cross from their seal. They said it showed favortism and that the other religions: Muslim, Judaism, Buddhists, etc., were left out. So in the spirit of fairness, they removed it. Being that we’re outsiders, what can we do? The police department receives funding from the Fed government including Homeland Security, because, they are a POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training ) certified law enforcement organization. If we can get enough people to pressure Mayor Nagin, we can have it removed. I sure don’t want to use my tax money to pay for ANY religious symbol. To protest the removal of the cross from the Los Angeles county seal,see-www.savetheseal.net.I think the muhfuhs at The ACLU also tried to have some Biblical plaques removed from The Grand Canyon-and lost.

And before you call me a liberal loon, Rush Limbaugh used the ACLU to block Florida’s court to prevent them from looking into his medical files after being outted for OxyContin, etc., so if we can use them to our advantage, we could get the U.N. out of “OUR” parks. It’s using the enemy to fight an enemy. Hell, even Howard Stern uses the ACLU and they hate him…LOL

The town I grew up in is called “Las Cruces” which means “The Crosses” and the city seal has three crosses on it and the ACLU’s never tried to get rid of that. Some firefighter tried, but no one really cared.

Did the author even bother looking at what the Islamic crescent and star looks like? It does not look like the crescent and star the New Orleans PD uses. The Islamic crescent points point either up or to the right, not straight down. Also the star is between the points, not in the center of the crescent. These are not the same thing! For the love of humanity, LEARN TO USE GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH before you spew ignorant crap like this!

Seriously? This is wildly stupid. Someone desperately needs to crack open a history book. New Orleans has been known as the “Crescent City” since the mid 1700s, and it has NOTHING to do with Islam. It’s because the shape of the old city was a crescent because of where it sat on a curve in the Mississippi River. The crescent star that the NOPD uses has been the shape of their police badge since the 1850s. That very same shape was a popular one among law enforcement agencies in the American West in the latter half of the 19th century.
