Forget the nostalgia of a “reunion”. Stick with the live concert videos when groups are in their prime.
I saw Genesis back in the 90’s sometime…it was sort of a “comeback” tour then. I remember only that I was very disappointed. Equally disappointed by a Stones concert in the 90’s. Sting, Bono, Daultry and Plant are all shadows of their former selves as well.

Sorry to hear that. I’ve always heard that Genesis was a great live band. I saw The Who on their Quadrophenia tour about 10 years ago. They were amazing back then.

Debbie, I’m a long time semi-closeted Genesis fan, just more proof of our compatibility. I never saw them in concert, but I’d take you to a reunion show, Jewish rules permitting. I didn’t like the later stuff they did, so we could kibbitz during that part. Maybe Mike and the Mechanics could open for them.

I saw Genesis in 1980, 1982, 1987 and 1992. They were always awesome. They ’92 show is my second favorite concert of all time (behind Jeff Beck/Stevie Ray Vaughan, shortly before Stevie Ray died). I’m disappointed that Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett aren’t on the reunion. That would be one show I’d pay a couple hundred to see.

They were at the Palace in late September, Debbie. I’m not a huge Genesis fan, but they put on a real good show.

I can remember in high school listening to Genesis (early-mid 80s) all the time. Kind of liked both singers equally. Of course, to my shock today’s high schoolers would consider them “our parents’ music”.
Guess we’re getting “old” Deb….

Saw them in 1982 at the Metropolitan Sports Center in Minneapolis (Three Sides Live Tour) and again in 1992 at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh (We Cant Dance Tour). We had tremendous seats at Three Rivers, only a few rows from the stage and we could see that the band was geniunely having fun, but Three Sides Live was the better show.
I haven’t heard much about this tour, but I’m always a bit leary of reunion tours in general. I just don’t believe the shows are as good compared to when the bands are at their peak and/or truly doing it for the music.
