Bush: America Must Make “Difficult Compromises” with Al-Qaeda

By Debbie Schlussel
Well, actually, President Bush did not say that achieving peace with Al-Qaeda “requires difficult compromises.” We would never compromise with this group that murdered 3,000-plus Americans worldwide. We’re fighting them on several fronts.
No, last night at a State Department dinner, Bush told Israel and its spineless, dishonest Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that achieving peace (with the Muslim world–but he didn’t specify that or with whom, since HAMAS, Iran, and Hezbollah ain’t there) “requires difficult compromises.”

Um, Mr. President, did Israel not already give away Gaza, most of the so-called “West Bank,” the entire Temple Mount access? When is America going to give over Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Wisconsin, Montana, Idaho, Washington State, the National Cathedral, etc. to Al-Qaeda? I mean, after all, it “requires difficult compromises” to get peace.
And while we’re at it, since they want Israel to give Syria the Golan Heights and the Arabs control of at least East Jerusalem, I say we give Al-Qaeda Alaska and Hawaii (throw in the Florida Keys which are really part of greater Cuba that we annexed, as Syria claims of the Golan Heights), and lets give Qaeda control of the Capitol Building and the mall. We can keep the White House, so long as we agree to let Bin Laden stay at the Lincoln Bedroom when he feels like it with one of the twelve wives or several mistresses.
Yup, peace “requires difficult compromises” in your view, Mr. President. So, when are you going to take your own advice and self-amputate?
Oh, and by the way, I’m sure America would have been way better off had we made the “difficult compromises” with the Nazis, Japan, and the Communist Soviet Union, don’t you think?
Eeuuww, I think I smell a rotting Nobel Prize on its way to the Bush ranch in Crawford.

Well, Jorge Bush is compromising with Mexico every day. He’s given Mexico the NAU, Mexican truckers on our roads, amnesty, Ramos and Compean in jail, etc. Maybe the clueless Jorge isn’t being a hypocrite after all.
You’re right, Bush is bucking for a Nobel Prize. Counting the days.

What compromise could one possibly make with a band of terrorists who seek to kill you? The only compromise they know is either you surrender the West to these islamists and die or they kill you first and take your property. The Annapolis Peace Conference is a futile gesture as so was Oslo and the Road Map.

But as Nelson Mandela pointed out, you don’t make peace with your friends, you make peace with your enemies.
You do want peace in the middle-east, don’t you?

I’ve been hearing about the Golan Heights for most of my life. I beleive that just about every country in the mid-east it seems has attacked Isreal at one time or another. Why don’t those fools just leave Isreal alone. They start a fight, get beat up and then cry about losing their land. I’m sure if Syria can guarantee Isreal that they will never be attacked again, they would get their land back. Too simple? Maybe, but it is what it is . . . (joe map mn)

Excellent point, No Pasaran.
Reminds me of the United States and Japan.

Peace Process Blues
Can’t blame Bush
for things beyond his control
No American President
can make a miracle
Parting the sea, as real as
“The Path To Peace”
ELIMINATE the problem
then they’ll cease
That’s the best
man can do
After the storm
peace begins
and “The Process” is through
On that day
and the other one in Iran
the end of peace at home
and order will for sometime be gone
Wounded by The Left
Bush’s will is put to the test
His vow to protect conflicts
with what might come next

What the hell is a “peace process” anyhow? Process?

lexi on November 27, 2007 at 5:21 pm

Peace process: When you kick the shit out of your enemy until he submits to your terms. For a liberal it means to surrender all that you have gained in and during the conflict until you have less than you started with.

I find it quite sad that the world is once again plotting the destruction of the Jews. Last time we could blame Hitler and pretend the rest of the world didn’t know. (Yeah, right.) This time we all know. Israel is going to be destroyed soon, I fear. This is like the battered wife getting a restraining order. It’s just a formal announcement of her impending murder.
Nothing has changed for Jews. The pogroms continue but on a more massive scale. The Jews can’t count on anybody to come to their aid. This is the most shameful thing I think Bush has ever done and as an American I feel ashamed that we are not backing Israel 100%. For quite a while I gave Bush the benefit of the doubt that he was trying to do the right thing. If he backs Israel giving up more land and going quietly into the night then he really will be a war criminal.

Dear Word-Drum
Writing things in
short sentences
like this
doesn’t make you a
poet
neither does it make
what you say
in any way not
complete and utter bollocks
Whatever your
day-job is
don’t give it up

You guys need some dissenting opinions on here! 🙂
Really, I find it a little ludicrous when someone who is supporting a group that is wealthy, powerful, and thoroughly in-control – when that person tries to make us beleive that this POOR, BELEAGUERED, PERSECUTED group is being so THREATENED by [fill in the blank].
Should Israel write a blank check to the PLO and Hamas? Of course not! But when you try to say that these poor jews are being ravaged and bamboozled and trying to make this seem like the edge of a second holocaust…that’s a bit much. Try some deep breathing and calm the hell down.
What really makes me think this way is you hear this scurrilous rhetoric from various groups – the NRA, Moral Majority, Congressional Republicans (during the times when they walked all over the competition – oh how they were persecuted!), and also from…yes…the Nazis.
Hitler REPEATEDLY used the argument that the peace-loving wonderful German reich or German people were being raped and pillaged by the evil interests of [fill in the blank]. He excused taking Austria and Czechloslovakia this way. And of course, the main evil villain that threatened the very life force of his nation…were the Jews.
So lets cool the rhetoric a bit and focus on what trades and deals will best achieve the strategic interests of all sides here and not forget that Israel is not some baby getting it’s candy stolen.

“So lets cool the rhetoric a bit and focus on what trades and deals will best achieve the strategic interests of all sides here and not forget that Israel is not some baby getting it’s candy stolen.”
Israel (population @ 7,150,000): We have the right to exist.
Muslim Middle Eastern extremists (approximately 10% of Muslim Middle Easterners, according to their SUPPORTERS): No you don’t.
Hard to see what deals you can make there… SO what about the moderates’ reply to Israel?
Muslim Middle Eastern “moderates” (the other 90% of the 224 million M.M.E.s): Ok, just give up a LITTLE more land and this time we’ll give you peace.
Problem: Israel has a limited and non-renewable supply of land. The Muslim “moderates” have an effectively unlimited and constantly renewing supply of homicide bombers…
