Hezbollah’s Fave Congressman Cites Me in Whining Anti-Semitic, Arab/Muslim “Race Card” Fundraising Letter

By Debbie Schlussel
Hmmm . . . Hezbollah’s and Syria’s fave Republican Congressman must be short of campaign funds, despite the fact that he’s a multi-millionaire Republican Congressman. He’s citing me (though not by name) in his race-baiting, Arab race-card, anti-Israel fund-raising letter which he sent out to 80,000 Muslim and Arab recipients, according to the Capitol Hill newspaper “The Hill.”

Republican Congressman Darrell Issa a/k/a “Jihad Darrell” of San Diego is still sore at me, because I’ve repeatedly written about his praise of and partying with terrorist group Hezbollah, PLO terrorist-in-chief Yasser Arafat, and the Assads of Syria. He’s also bummed that my work caused Karl Rove to demand he leave the California Gubernatorial race after he funded the entire thing with his millions. He’s also upset that a New York Post column I wrote earlier this year ended his quest to become Republican Policy Committee Chairman for the House of Representatives.
So, now, Issa cites me in a false allegation (one he’s repeatedly made over the last six years though won’t say publicly because he knows it’s false and I’d sue him) in a whining, anti-Semitic, Arab/Muslim “race card” fundraising letter he’s sending to 80,000 Muslims and Arabs. The letter is true to Issa’s typical crybaby, anti-Semitic behavior throughout the course of his public life. It’s why he’ll never ever proceed beyond a Congressional seat, though he desperately seeks a U.S. Senate or Gubernatorial slot in his Walter Mitty plan to become President.
But Issa is too cowardly to name me by name. Plus he knows that I will sue him if he has the guts to publicly make the allegation he’s been spreading, and I will because he’s repeated the lie over and over again that my work inspired someone to try to kill him. He did that all on his own. I just reported on Issa’s “career.”
Frankly, I think he should say in his letter what he’s been repeatedly saying and then denying he said: That he thinks Hezbollah is a great political group of farmers who help people. And that Arafat was a nice man with a great sense of humor and such small hands, who’d let you eat the food off his plate. He said both of these things, and he should know, since he supped with Arafat at the height of homicide bombings the man orchestrated in Israel.
Here are the details from “The Hill.” The “malicious writings of one person” part is the reference to me. Am I malicious? Well, let’s see, I hate Hezbollah and Yasser Arafat (when he was alive, and yes, even after his death). And I feel the same about those who love and promote either of them. That includes Issa. But the ALLEGED plot against him was NOT “inspired” by my writing, and there has never been any evidence to the contrary. And the sole person involved is now dead, so we can’t question him–he was suspiciously, quickly murdered in prison. Here’s most of the article about Issa’s Anti-Semitic letter (Thanks to reader DH and Red County San Diego for the tip):

In an unusual plea for campaign funds, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) recently evoked images of racism against Arab-Americans, criticized a congressional colleague by name, and reminded potential donors of a 2001 bomb threat to his office.
“I am one of only five Arab-Americans in Congress,” begins a letter written by Issa to potential donors. “I have been personally the target of anti-Arab racism and hate speech on the Internet and in other media.”
The letter, which was sent to roughly 80,000 members of the Muslim and Arab community on Oct. 24, cited an incident in December 2001 when Issa’s California office was the target of a bomb plot. [DS: Alleged bomb plot. Nothing was ever proven. But Issa likes to wear it as a chip on his shoulder.]
“Inspired by the malicious writings of one person, members of the radical Jewish Defense League targeted my California office – a U.S. Congressman’s office – in a terrorist bomb plot that was thwarted by the FBI just days before it was to be carried out.” [DS: That’s complete bull-dung. The plot was allegedly talked about once at a meeting of two people. There was nothing beyond that.]
The two members of the Jewish Defense League were later charged with plotting to blow up a California mosque as well. Issa believed he was targeted as a result of a local columnist who targeted him based on his ethnicity. [DS: Um, actually the columnist is me. I wasn’t local. And I wrote about his support for Hezbollah and Arafat, NOT his ethnicity, though that has everything to do with his support for Hezbollah and Arafat.]
“Those are the things that occurred and the only reason was because I [am] an Arab,” he said in an interview Wednesday. [DS: Um, no, the reason they “occurred”–actually, NOTHING occurred–is because Issa supports Hezbollah and Arafat and terrorism. Plain and simple.]
Issa’s letter did not sit well with Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), who is singled out in the congressman’s plea for contributions.
Issa explained in his missive that Congress wanted to draft a resolution in 2006 after the short-lived war between Hezbollah and Israel broke out. He wrote that Arab-American members of Congress wanted to call on both sides to limit the number of civilian casualties.
“Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) said language urging restraint to protect civilian life would have been interpreted as a slap to Israel,” the Issa letter states. [DS: Hmmm . . . Why is Issa citing a Jewish Congressman? I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he’s anti-Semitic and writing to 80,000 Muslims and Arabs asking for mucho bucks.]
“As time would reveal,” the letter adds, “Israel showered Lebanon in the last few days of its military campaign with hundreds of thousands of cluster bombs that to this very day are killing innocent Lebanese civilians.” [DS: Yes, thousands of innocent Hezbollah terrorists. So sad, too bad.]
Engel expressed shock that a fundraising letter would use another member’s name.
“This is unusual and I think it is unfortunate, frankly,” he said. “I understand as colleagues we are going to have differences but it is inappropriate to use anyone else in a fundraising letter.” [DS: Stop beating around the bush. He used your name because he hates Jews and is baiting Muslims and Arabs to give him money. Come clean and say it out loud.]
He added, “We are colleagues, we are friends. I thought we were friends . . . I don’t personalize [an issue] to try to raise funds.
“I think his point could have been emphasized another way.” [DS: PUH-LEEZE. Issa is his friend like a python is friends with a mouse.] . . .
The language that Issa used in his letter has also attracted criticism from outside groups.
In his letter, Issa criticized members of the “pro-Israel lobby” [DS: THE JOOOOOOOOS] for blocking the civilian casualty language in the 2006 measure.
Dan Mariaschin, executive vice president for B’nai B’rith International, said the phrase “pro-Israel lobby” is a “discredited term” and claimed Issa’s comments about the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel were delivered without context. [DS: It’s a term used by anti-Semites to fundraise from anti-Semitic Muslims and Arabs. Come out and say it, dude.]
“Whether it is a speech on the floor or a mailing I really would hope that [members have] a commitment to accuracy, a commitment to context and a commitment to avoiding the use of phrases that are insensitive,” he said.
Issa, who is of Lebanese decent, said the examples of discrimination and violence referenced in the mailing were intended to communicate that he understood and experienced firsthand many of the injustices and prejudices that many Arab-Americans and Muslim- Americans had experienced in their day-to-day lives. [DS: PUH-LEEZE. He understands Jihad. Period. And he was all set to introduce flying imam legislation, which he announced right after the 9/11 attacks. This guy is a fricking liar and anti-Semitic race-baiter who loves Arafat, Assad, and Hezbollah.]
“We thought about writing to a community that is disenfranchised,” Issa said, stressing that it was important for that community to know that it had an advocate in Washington.

Glad this scumbag-in-office is finally admitting that he’s the Muslims’ and Arabs’ member of Congress.
It’s something I’ve known and written about for over SIX YEARS, now.

If only the so-called mainstream media would make a bigger deal out of things like this… or better yet, translate it the way Debbie does on this article, scum like Issa wouldn’t be elected to office.
Can’t the Republicans offer up someone better than this piece of garbage.
Keep up the good work Debbie.

“I am one of only five Arab-Americans in Congress,” – isn’t that 5 too many?
How many Americans are in Arab/Muslim governments?
How many?
Can’t hear you….anybody home…?

Debbie keep up the good work. I am new to Issa and his antics, so I am not entirely sure what his beef with you is. He sounds like a Republican in name only. As always, people are whining about people who seek to protect themselves. They have no problem tearing people down. But the first time someone pushes back, they get in front of a camera and whine like a little baby. Grow up and be a man Issa. You are a fraud. You can either accept the truth and own up to it or shut up and go away. I and a lot of others are sick of it.

I love Israel. Can certainly appreciate her people who’ve managed to make the desert bloom! Instead of whining and crying crocodile tears Issa would do himself (and everyone else) a favor by exploring the peace-LOVING supporters of Israel AND their contributions to humanity!

I really can’t think of anything more grotesque or insane than…gag…eating food from the same plate as this drooling toadie and HIV carrier arafat. But Issa knew that,in addition to being the “butcher” of Christians and Jews, arafat was a world class faggot and pedophile known for romping with his european security guards, molesting little boys and…gasp…kissing mad madeline albright. It’s probably reasonable to assume that Issa shares the same set of standards as those he shmoozes with. The sooner he fades into the sunset, the better.

Arafat was a “butcher” of Christians?? Ahh, the man attended church services, worked with several Christians, and had a Christian wife. And Issa doesn’t support terrorism or Hezbollah. In fact he HATES Hezbollah and is open about it! Debbie, why must you spread lies?
