JUSTICE!: Al-Qaeda Prosecutor Rick Convertino Acquitted of Fed Witch Hunt

By Debbie Schlussel
This is something I wish my dad lived to see. Today, our friend, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Convertino, was acquitted on all charges–Trumped Up Charges!–contained in a politically-motivated, baseless, and terrorist-pandering federal indictment against him. Readers of this site know I’ve been writing about Rick and his fight against Islamic terrorism (and the Justice Department that loves Islamofascism) since 2003, when I first wrote of his situation in a New York Post column. And I’ve been writing about the Federal attempt to mob-lynch him, ever since.
In yet another deserved defeat for the “Justice” Department and FOUR(!) years of wasted time and resources and hurt lives (Convertino’s, his family’s, his co-defendant Ray Smith’s, etc.), the jury took little time after beginning jury deliberations today to acquit Convertino. It’s an incredible loss for the government, a huge win for America.

American Patriot Rick Convertino

Victorious Over Evil Islamo-Pandering Justice Department

Sadly, he was put on trial, instead of the Al-Qaeda terrorists he convicted and which the justice department overturned. If only the government pursued terrorists with the zeal and resources they spent the last four years using against Convertino for actually pursuing and convicting Al-Qaeda terrorists.
And they tried to keep the truth out. Justice Department lawyers asked jurors if they read this site and nixed those who did. But they couldn’t block the sunshine. Truth gets out eventually, and sometimes good does win over evil, as it definitely, finally, did today.
Convertino won, if only after tremendous expense to and persecution of himself, his wife, and his five children. This is a huge victory for the forces of good and right, and a huge loss for the forces of political correctness that dominate every level of “counterterrorism pursuit” at the Justice Department.
Rick Convertino must now rebuild his life and begin the process of getting his reputation back. For those of us who know and love him and knew the truth about this valiant counterterrorist, he never lost it in the first place.
There is so much more on this, and I was in the process of writing a column on the trial, when the good news came in. I have some blockbuster info on it that should shock you. Sometimes–too many times–officials of our federal government think they’re mobsters and act like it.
And not just on Halloween.
Well, the witches and ghouls lost one today. And Rick Convertino won yet another fight in his righteous cause.
My father was disgusted at the four-year ordeal they put Convertino through and how they took the terrorists’ side. And I know he’s smiling from up above at the events of today.
Still, we Americans lost a great federal servant in this honest, decent, brilliant prosecutor, because the evil that dominates the Justice Department drove him out.
Now, he’s representing the defense. Way to go, Ashcronzales.
Next question: Just how many millions of our tax money did the Justice Dept. waste in going after this good man?
Another question: Since the Islamo-pandering Detroit media crucified Convertino for four years on their front pages, will they run full-length stories about his acquittal as prominently?
Don’t bet on it.
Congratulations, Rick! You beat the bastards down.

A personal victory for him, but…
I am a young attorney who graduated near the top of my class. As a politically conservative Jew who believes in defending this country, I had strongly considered pursuing a career with the US Attorney with the hope of contributing to the war on terror. Now? Forget about it. I can’t be the only young attorney thinking that way now. If the placaters of Islamofascism in Justice treated him that way (a guy with a vowel at the end of his name), I can only imagine how I would be treated.
The damage is done.
[ML: I AGREE WITH THE COMMENTS BELOW. YOU MUST NOT GIVE UP. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO GO INTO THIS LINE OF WORK SO THAT IT WON’T BE COMPLETELY DOMINATED BY THE PC-CROWD. NEVER GIVE UP THE FIGHT. YOU’RE EXACTLY THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT NEEDS TO BE IN THERE. DS]

Melchloboo, you can’t think like that. This country needs good people like you. What will we become if we just give in to the islamofacists? Hopefully, Mr. Convertino would encourage you to give it a try, despite the outrageous things that happened to him. With enough patriots willing to step up, maybe we can prosecute a few of these islamofacist-loving idiots who want to protect our enemies.
God bless you Rick and family. You’ve been vindicated. Now I hope you can go out and kick some ass.

Always a great thing to hear about one of the good guys being vindicated. I look forward to reading the other information you had ready to print, Debbie, and congratulations to Mr. Covertino and his family!
Time for the whole lot of Islamo-panderers at Justice and State to go — hoping the next President will be a genuine political conservative (anybody but Shrillary, at least!), and, unlike W., he cleans house at both bureaucracies upon being inaugurated. No question that Bush’s “New Tone” was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, mistakes he made in his eight (now loooooonnnnnnnngg) years in office.

A total of 23 (TWENTY THREE) seconds on that story on News 4 WDIV (detroit). THAT is how much time they commited to this story of the real truth.
I am sickened, but not shocked at the medias response.
Way to go Rick. Cant wait to see your article Deb.

Just means that more innocents will die before people realize they have a fight on their hands. It has happened before.
If the atheist liberals have played a role, do not for get that the mainstream pseudo-religious have played a role too. I don’t think many Christian Churches, the Presbyterians especially will survive in any recognizable form.
The word is out; people see Levin and Durbin cavort and are harmed not a bit politically. The American people have sufficient warning and if they choose not to heed it, then their blood is on their own heads.

Debbie,
You’ve been on this case since inception. Too many people DON’T know about it and your support.
I think there is a book out there waiting to be written.
Go for it.

I believe that perhaps the area that we are failing most in the war on terror is perhaps the most critical area.
That area is the legal area. On the side of attacking our enemies we are losing badly. The Justice department has failed miserably in prosecuting and convicting our enemies. Take the Al Arian and the HLF cases as examples.
The ACLU and other legal entities are forcing us to release terrorist, inciting phony cases against our most dedicated troups and forcing us to adopt expansions of the Geneva conventions to apply in areas that they were never intended to. They have also limited our tools in extracting information from those that would harm us.
Time magazine (that piece of MSM garbage) chronicles the fact that waiting for legal approval has crippled our ability to kill or capture Osama.
We need a drastic change in this area if we are to be victorious.

Thanks Debbie for staying on top of this injustice! As UsorThem said above, WRITE THAT BOOK! It will be a bestseller and hopefully will bring more good guys to public service.
I hope the next president has EVERYONE in the justice system submit their resignation and then vet each one before keeping or discarding – we MUST get rid of the trash that is giving the government such a black eye!

Finally some good news in this politically correct country of ours. Thank you Debbie for keeping us informed on Rick’s fight. There should be a way he could sue back to get his reputation and wages lost. The government has way too much power in cases like this.

MadMom on November 2, 2007 at 12:18 pm

Debbie, what was he accused of? Your article is missing this information.
