Quote of the Day: Absurd TSA Groping Won’t Stop Terrorists

By Debbie Schlussel

The new [Homeland Security/TSA] guidelines allow for the touching of the inside of travelers’ thighs and for feeling their buttocks, which some say is an invasion of privacy.  I say it’s the start of an awesome letter to Penthouse.  I get more action going through security than I got during all of high school.

–comedian Jimmy Kimmel on last night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC.

This Won’t Stop a Single Terrorist Attack

All kidding aside, don’t include me with the sheeple who continue to go along with the ever-more invasive security theater at airports “because it will save our lives and make us safer.”  Get a clue, people.  Telling the average American traveler that he or she needs to be felt up and still can’t have a tube of toothpaste biggest than 3 ounces in a bag of stuff bigger than a quart WON’T MAKE YOU SAFER.  It won’t stop terrorists.

Sit Back & Enjoy Big Brother Feeling You Up

But what it does do is make terrorists laugh at you.  The whole Muslim world is laughing. I’m laughing.  We’re going through ridiculously invasive body searches because Muslims sent bombs in printer cartridges?  Um, how the heck will that make us safer?  Do you think even feeling a guys’ inner thighs would have uncovered the underwear bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s bomb?  Think again.  Do you think that feeling up some granny or three-year-old will discover a bomb implanted deep inside the breasts or buttocks or body cavity of an Islamic terrorist after surgery?  Only if you’re a moron.  And for all morons, I recommend you see the movie, “Please Remove Your Shoes,” for more on this high-tech security theater facade. The Muslims are laughing that they didn’t even need to bring down two more buildings and murder a single more American to get us all to humiliate ourselves in order to get on a plane.  This is the government agency that hires actual convicted felons to grope the rest of us like convicted felons.

We’re not safer because of these things.  We’re only more stupid.  More ridiculous.  How about searching the Mohammeds and Hamidas of this world a little more closely instead of giving a Shiatsu massage to 74-year-old Aunt Tilly?  Yes, Muslims will and have recruited dumbass White chicks and idiotic White men, who’ve either converted to Islam or otherwise been brainwashed and paid off.  But we know that one thing remains true:  almost all would be bombers were Muslims with Muslim names from Muslim countries.  Almost all of them were suspicious, whether it was Abdulmutallab whose own father repeatedly warned the U.S. about his son or the Times Square bomber, another Muslim.  Very few blondies from Iowa or redheaded surfers are the ones trying this stuff.  They are still almost all Muslim.

So when will we stop subjecting innocent, law-abiding, regular Americans to molestation we put men in jail for and start molesting the people who worship Mohammed?  They are the ones who blew up 3,000 Americans and who repeatedly try to blow up more via underwear, car bombs, and printer cartridges.  So, why to Bob from Missouri and Tina from California have to endure the consequences?

Again, it ain’t makin’ us safer.  Just more harassed and molested.  Did anyone ever think that the murder–by ARAB. MUSLIMS.–of 3,000 Americans would result in a guy in San Diego having to tell a San Diego TSA inspector not to touch his “junk” (video above)?  I don’t blame the lowly TSA employees, who aren’t the ones setting this absurd policy (and I think John Tyner, the guy who made that video, is an insolent jerk–he makes the right points but to the wrong people).  I blame Man-et Napolitano, who is a man only in appearance, but in this absurd policy, is quite the ball-less one in her behavior.  It’s a sign of cowering and cowardice.  And you can bet no one is feeling up her quasi-penis when she flies . . . you know, just to make sure there isn’t a bomb (or a sign of femininity) in there somewhere.

Oh, and by the way:  her stupid new TSA policy of banning toner and ink cartridges over 16-ounces on all U.S. bound passenger aircraft won’t do a thing.  Because, hey, there are no Muslims on U.S. soil and none brainy enough to send bombs in ink cartridges and toner on domestic flights to blow  up over U.S. soil, right?  Hellooooo . . . .  Maybe we ought to engage in further imbecilic, reactive behavior and forever ban the domestic air transport of all ink cartridges and toner.  Then, those who tell us to “buy locally” can set up their own local ink and toner factories.  But, wait, then someone might make a bomb to blow up one of the ink and toner trucks in the middle of a busy highway.

Yup, I’m sure people in Yemen and America will also only restrict their bombs to toner and ink.  They’d never adjust to Napoli-man-o’s new rules and send a bomb in something else.  They’re just not that smart and resourceful, right?

You keep telling yourself that.  Meantime, the thigh-groping continues.  And America is no safer.

You know where else they are laughing at America:   Israel.  They know how to stop these attacks.  But America would rather molest its citizens than inspect real terrorists.  Like Jimmy Kimmel said, more action than during all of high school .  .  . unless your name is Bristol.

Totally agree. I’m angry that our gov’t is so f**king complacent that they come up with this idiotic stuff. Why is it that with such an excellent track record as Israel’s that we don’t adopt their system? Why doesn’t our gov’t have ANY interest in providing any real security? So, which option would you submit to? The grope search or the radiation scanner?

Debbie, I read an article over the weekend, and it said that the TSA will check muslim women from the neck and face, not the rest of their bodies! Nancy, I to am fed up with this friggin government, and that’s why I seldomly fly these days, this crap didn’t start under Obama (no I’m not going to use the knee-jerk conservative mindset and put the blame on Obama for this), hell it didn’t start under on any of the two Bush’s, this has been going on for decades and counting, and I would like to know which presidential administration started this nonsense? I understand the passengers have to be safe when their flying, don’t get me wrong, but this search by the TSA is plain old insane.

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on November 16, 2010 at 3:03 pm

Debbie,
You left out any mention of screenings of muslims, the role of CAIR and burkas.

I’m really curios as to the ratio of middle eastern men and women who are selected for pat downs compared to the rest of society.

ebayer on November 16, 2010 at 3:25 pm

The TSA people are afraid to select Muslim or Middle-Eastern-looking people for extra screening because they get accused of “profiling,” like that’s a BAD thing instead of just common sense.

So instead they take people like me, who have knee or hip replacements, who are middle-aged, post-menopausal, white, blonde women of Scandinavian descent; pull us out of the line, treat us like criminals in front of the other passengers, EVEN THOUGH I warn them prior to going through the metal detector that my knee will set it off. I wear loose-fitting slacks so I can pull them up and SHOW them my knee scar, they can wand it till the cows come home, but they still feel the need to feel me up all over, EVEN THOUGH the metal detector only beeps around my knee. In the meantime they make me leave my possessions on the conveyor belt, where anyone walking past has access to my purse and other belongings. They won’t even let my hubby take them to safeguard them. At the Atlanta airport when he tried to take my stuff off the belt the TSA agent threatened to arrest him.

During all of this I am treated like a criminal. It’s bad enough that they do this, but if these TSA agents would at least acknowledge the ridiculous nature of enhanced screening of everyone BUT the young Middle-Eastern males who fit the profile of a terrorist, and treat us with some modicum of respect, it wouldn’t be quite so bad. Use a little common sense, people!

But, of course, this is the government. Common sense is not a prerequisite for this job.

DG in GA on November 16, 2010 at 10:38 pm

Ga you nailed it right off. TSA and for tht matter the majority of society is afraid of middle easterners and what they get offended by. It’s a shame somebody like you gets harassed. It’s going to end up with more dead bodies falling from the sky.

samurai on November 17, 2010 at 1:42 am

Has anyone in the government thought to ask El Al how they thwart terrorists? Seem to me they might know a thing or two.

Oscar on November 16, 2010 at 3:51 pm

Apparently the Israelis offered to provide training to the TSA and the government said NO!

I remember flying out of the Zurich airport several times during the 1980’s. Even back then their screening was done by soldiers carrying AK47s. Believe me, when a soldier with an AK47 comes up to you and starts asking if you packed your own bags, where you’re going, how long are you staying, where your bags have been since you packed them, etc., you tend to tell the truth! They see if you make eye contact with them or if you seem evasive. I’m, told this is how the Israelis do their screening, and they PROFILE because it is common sense!

DG in GA on November 16, 2010 at 10:44 pm

All pilots are ARMED. That’s how El Al does it.

As goes Israel, so goes the World... on November 17, 2010 at 5:31 pm

I’ll punch a TSA screener’s lights out if they try to feel my privates.

There’s a line to draw somewhere and I think you’d do the same Debbie, if they tried to fondle you.

That’s none of the government’s biz. ‘Nuff said.

?”Land of the free and home of the groped.”

Lucky on November 18, 2010 at 11:09 pm

I am wondering why the no one is going after the TSA based upon Amendment IV of the US Constitution:

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Terrorism caused by a particular group does not warrant the entire population being subjugated to the state and, yet, this administration knowingly/willfully violates our Constitutional rights (more so than any other administration in this republic)… let alone the Imam in Chief giving his muslim cronies a pass on the pat-downs. Enough is enough! Our country’s founders and those who died fighting for/defending our great nation are truly rolling in their graves.

Pats on November 16, 2010 at 4:04 pm

    Hey Pats, Wake up!
The 4th amendment was abolished long ago, especially at the airport after 9-11. It’s contract law. You contracted all your rights away when you bought the ticket. And even if you didn’t, the constitution does not apply in a Fascist Police state check point @ the airport. I hear it was easier to travel out of the USSR than it is to travel by plane in America today. That’s sad if you think about it.

Who cares? on November 16, 2010 at 9:32 pm

Sorry, the 4th Amendment was not abolished. The problem is that many Americans did not speak out and protest the government when it went power-hungry, trampling and disregarding the Constitution the officials swore to protect and uphold- all in the name of “security” (financial, terror, what have you). There MAY be an awakening and a revolt against this, but I am really not holding my breath. May be it is the optimist inside me (and my wife) wanting, working, and fighting hard to give our child a better country than what we were left to contend with. I just pray that it is not too late to save this country from tyranny.

Pats on November 17, 2010 at 10:54 am

Debbie, if a TSA employee dares to feel-up my daughter, I will be posting my comments to this website from jail… this is after I have dealt with the child molester.

Pats on November 16, 2010 at 4:12 pm

Read the transcript of that guy in San Diego. The TSA agent tells him that they are required to touch your crotch/groin, ass & breasts at the “check-point” and that it’s perfectly legal to do so, and that our hero agreed to it when he bought the ticket. Our Hero said that the search procedure described to him amounted to sexual assault/molestation and that it would be a crime if they were not the “government”.
So the bottom line is that these “Pat downs” are legalized sexual assault, authorized sanctioned and promoted by a Fascist Federal Government Alphabet Agency that needs to be abolished.

Who cares? on November 16, 2010 at 9:26 pm

I have seen the TSA intentionally not screen Muslims in full garb, who were obviously wealthy and connected.

I note the courtesy given to Muslims not given to others going through this process.

Close the door of this country to Muslims, and you close the door to terrorism. (Okay, the barn door is being closed late, but it’s better than nothing.). And throw out the illegal aliens in the Muslim community.

Jonathan Grant on November 16, 2010 at 4:14 pm

    Jon, yup.

That’s another reason they’re laughing at us.

They get special treatment and they have the thrill of watching us dhimmis put up with degrading treatment no one would have tolerated a decade ago.

Its time to put a full stop to the TSA’s molestation of us!

NormanF on November 18, 2010 at 9:07 pm

that pic of them frisking the grey-haired little old lady is disgusting and disturbing. the lengths people and the government that they condone will go to actually set policy that they know is inane and ineffective is nauseating. let “x” number of creepy muslims in full desert gowns or burquas go through or frisk “x” number of blatantly innocuous people like grannies or little girls so that creepy, slimy muslims won’t “feel” offended or singled-out.
i am so sick of creepy muslims making everyone’s world dangerous and imposing their sick and twisted “values” on everyone else.

united states of sharia on November 16, 2010 at 4:18 pm

Oscar, there’s no way the TSA will adopt Israeli security protocols – and not just because it wasn’t invented here. The standard claim is that our travel volumes mitigate against instituting such procedures. True to an extent. But the true reason is that we’re afraid of the “P” word – profiling. Arabs and Muslims are “just like anyone else” right? You know, the typical PC crap. Also, there’s also no counterpart to the Israeli cadre that do the security – all ex-IDF, many students of psychology and behavior. We could, of course, utilize US military veterans; instead we get the usual – those who just want a government job, including Muslims – to handle security.

But those who travel out of Israel know they don’t make us remove our shoes or the other silly stuff they make us do here. They know it’s pointless. And they don’t use body scanners either. Not only wouldn’t they have detected the undie-bomb, but they create all kinds of problems for religious travelers – Jews as well as Muslims. Instead, they ask you questions and size you up. Not here. They’d rather feel up grandma and molest children, like the three year old crying “Stop touching me!” (YouTube video now blocked) Meanwhile the father is emasculated, unable to protect his child, in the face of government authority.

Apropos, I just visited Washington’s DMV today. Ten minutes just to get through the security line. Here they make us remove our belts before passing through the detector. “Security theater” is indeed a proper characterization.

Raymond in DC on November 16, 2010 at 4:18 pm

But the civil libertarians and privacy advocates would probably be more ticked off if they had to answer specific questions than if they had their privates frisked.

    ari-free on November 16, 2010 at 5:56 pm

The only way to stop this insanity is to refuse to fly. When the airlines, hotels, resorts, rental car companies, etc…feel the pain, the policy will stop.

adam on November 16, 2010 at 4:38 pm

Proudly refusing to fly for any reason for 8 years!

We rent a great car or van, take our own sweet time and travel UNMOSLESTED by government TROLLS and PERVERTS!

Actually cheaper than air fare and my hubby loves to drive and see the countryside. Went to Colorado last year for 3 weeks . IT WAS GREAT! Mountains, trains and rivers. Best B&B places to stay in the whole country!

We have been to Europe and other places ‘over seas” numerous times in the past 30 years so I have no interest in seeing them again and IF I do I will take a cruise. They leave my state just 4 hours from my front door. So I still do NOT have to fly!
We are taking the grandkids to Williamsburg next Spring and there will be NO airplane travel either.

We have to the time but with proper planning most people can rent a car, take the train or even the bus.

TRY IT! TRY NOT TO FLY!! YOU can do it!

I can’t help but wonder what kind of pervert would actually take this job. Another example of the gov’t employing the otherwise unemployable.

Kent Daughtrey on November 16, 2010 at 4:49 pm

I can’t help but wander what the TSA’s policy is on hiring gays and assigning them to these groping jobs. Don’t ask don’t tell don’t go far enough for me. I think that the screener who performs the pat down/feel up should be forced to get into the xray porn machine afterwards while the groped party watches to determine if any sexual harassment charges are warranted (although I’m not sure how to check the females who perform the checks).
Maybe passengers could make the TSA screeners sign a statement that they have no homosexual tendencies (or family history of homosexuality, since it is genetic).

peter on November 16, 2010 at 5:51 pm

It’s not any better in Europe. I recently traveled to Germany and France. In Frankfurt a female security worker squeezed my breasts and buttocks and thrust her hands down the front of my pants (underneath my panties)and gave my genitals a squeeze, all while the male security workers, and passengers going through the metal detectors, watched. A similar experience occured in Berlin. I was never offered a private area for the pat-down. In Paris, I was just groped (no touching of the area between my legs). In both airports I passed through the metal detector without incident. I also passed through Atlanta, Philadelphia and Charlotte, NC, and was not once touched by the TSA. I was treated better in America than in Europe.

ramjordan on November 16, 2010 at 6:09 pm

Sad thing is that none of this is necessary. You don’t even have to resort to profiling only one group to have effective airport security. Like someone mentioned, the Israeli airport does not waste time to grope every single person, they are experts in anaylzing behavoir patterns and psychology. Violent behavoir is highly predictable, no matter what religion or race you are. For instance on 9/11 the ticket agent that checked in Atta’s group he had gotten a bad vibe from him and decided to not check him in all the way to send him through another checkpoint..he had checked in plenty of travelers that looked like him before but he was just..different. Unfortunately the second checkpoint did not stop them and that agent killed herself later. There are many things that can be done at many levels of the airport instead of groping the masses and setting up hundreds of checkpoints but I guess people find it too hard to get rid of something once it is there? It’s like trying to get rid of the IRS..which everyone hates but somehow it’s still, there.

Gosh, that Manet Incompetano is so hard to take with her stupid, manly voice. She is an absolute dope and a complete embarrassment.

America is a joke. I don’t know what will finally take us down. The Fifth Column, the PC crowd or the Jihadis laughing at us and using our laws against us. It’s completely maddening!

I woke up after 9/11 and I guess I am shocked how America went back to sleep so soon after. I hope peeps WILL use their Thanksgiving travel to OPT OUT and try to shove it up homeland securities arse! Trouble is I know most just want to get to where they are going…I think this time the principle of the matter should be addressed…even if it is super inconvenient.

I’m tired of dumb Americans settling for our freedoms and liberties being taken away “for our own good”. Eff that! The Libs took our freedom to smoke freely away and I resent their creeping incrimentalism. WAKE UP USA!!!

When my mother was 87 years old, I flew her 1st class to Las Vegas, to see my brother. She uses a wheelchair, and has Alzheimers, so I paid ~$100 extra, for escort service (like you would for a 5 year old, flying alone). She has no picture ID, because she never even drove an automobile, so she was subject to an extra/special security check. They had her stand-up out of her wheelchair (I was present), to scan over her body, and remove her shoes, to check for explosives! Think they suspected I was going to blow her up, in order to take out the plane? They lost her carry-on suitcase on the return trip. It was full of her medications. Got it back, the next day. I’m sure her escort service/flight attendant left it on the plane.

Dr Dale on November 16, 2010 at 6:39 pm

My dearest mother lived with me the last 7 1/2 yrs of her life and died recently. She was stunningly beautiful outwardly (and inwardly) and literally stopped traffic even at 82 yrs old. She had Alzheimers’ Disease and the last time that she was on airplane was 6 mos. before she died. I wanted to take her from my home in CA back to Cleveland to see friends of hers that she had been very close with for a lifetime — since she was in 1st grade and more importantly to see her youngest son.

She was selected for a full body search in San Diego and I can not describe the intense distress that this caused her. This is a mean spirited and useless policy. I no longer have ANY confidence in our gov’t and that scares me.

Side Note: Unfortunately, none of her 5 kids got her drop dead gorgeous gene but we were soooo lucky to have her as our mom!

NancyB on November 16, 2010 at 7:07 pm

I guess touching my inner thighs will make certain that I’m not smuggling an ink cartridge full of explosives onto a plane.

You’re right, the muslims are laughing at us — and demanding that “their” women be treated differently.

And we aren’t allowed to notice that most bombers have been muslims of middle eastern heritage. No, that would be against our values — racism — but how long until sexual perverts flock to being paid for feeling up strangers? We’re creating paid opportunities for indulging a sexual fetish. Just saying.

Hmm .... on November 16, 2010 at 8:32 pm

When the government took over airport security (farce that it is) they had to change the regulations about hiring high school drop outs. Seems they would have lost over 20% of the employees. This is why a Congressional Medal of Honor winner had so much trouble going thru the Phoenix airport. The scanner idiots were too stupid to know what a Medal of Honor is.

Boycotting and complaining will only lead to more bailouts and BS excuses. But Franklin had it right, those that sacrifice freedom and liberty for security deserve neither.

ender on November 16, 2010 at 9:16 pm

Wow does this bring me back, I remember being searched this invasively as a child at Schiopol Airport back in the 70s. Creepy.

Solomon2 on November 16, 2010 at 10:08 pm

We are doing all of this because some Americans refuse to believe that Muslims are a threat and keep letting them into the country. And we have to alter our whole way of life for the “pleasure” of having a bunch of Muslim barbarians in out country.

Also, we had eight years of “compassionate conservative” Bush that refused to profile Muslims and kept importing them into our country. Therefore, thanks to liberal Bush and liberal Obama, we have to search real Americans so that the phony Muslim “Americans” won’t feel offended.

I say keep the scanners and invasive pat downs–for Muslims only. And start an Israeli style security procedure.

What’s making me even more ill is the line of “reasoning” some of the pundits are taking by asking “Well, I agree that this is bad, but could you come up with something better that would make air travel safe?”. I seem to remember that there was a military intelligence unit called “Able Danger” that had identified many of the hijackers well before 9-11 and that Clinton lawyers, especially someone named Jamie Gorelick, blocked the info from getting to any agencies that might have been able to do anything.

So yes, as a matter of fact I do know something that can make air travel, as well as the rest of the country, more safe. Subject these lawyers to military tribunals, put them in orange jumpsuits, and ship their asses off to Gitmo!

CornCoLeo on November 17, 2010 at 12:42 am

Both the Democrats AND the Republicans are responsible for this mess, this PC travesty that is no longer funny if it ever was. Under Georgie “Islam is a RoP” Bush he instigated all the PC procedures that ensured no Muslim ever be offended after 9-11, only everybody else. This just takes it to the next level. America you are more dhimmified than Europe, all is lost – you have a president upset with the Joooooos for building homes – the horror of it – in the Jewish capital of the Jewish state but has no problem arming our Islamist enemies to the teeth.

Where is the Republican outrage, or at least the outrage from the Tea Party supporters? Don’t they travel much? There is no protest from the Republicans, so they are just as clueless and dhimmified and cowardly.

When Rome fell into decline and collapse it did not sink to such levels of farce and obtuseness. More than I can say for the USA.

PS In Israel we profile and to do that we employ security agents with INTELLIGENCE. In America you don’t profile so you can employ morons as security.

Larry in Tel Aviv on November 17, 2010 at 3:07 am

This would actually be hysterically funny if it wasn’t so stupid. We Americans never seem to learn our lessons and nothing will get done until we finally have good leadership.

Naomi Romm on November 17, 2010 at 8:06 am

Why are we not taking advantage of the knowledge and procedures used by Israeli security experts? I’ve heard that no one gets near an Israeli airport without first passing through security well outside the perimeter. Wouldn’t this be the most logical & least expensive way to solve our security concerns? Israel has already invented the wheel we need.

I wonder how many people are going to go to the airport without a ticket specifically so they can be groped.

I_AM_ME on November 17, 2010 at 11:22 am

Airline security is nothing a LITTLE profiling won’t solve.

Ultimately, the current TSA security measures are going to discourage people from flying. As people stop flying, the airline industries will be hurt.

Once the airlines start losing money, they’ll start barking at the TSA for hurting their business. THEN and only then, will the TSA listen to anybody about these insane security measures.

After all, when people stop flying, the TSA starts laying off employees. Rank and file TSA employees are VERY aware of that fact.

There is NO Santa Claus on November 18, 2010 at 9:36 am
