Weekend Box Office: Dept. of FairyTaleLand Security in Horrid New Age, Lefty Cinderella

By Debbie Schlussel
Don’t take your kids to see “Happily N’Ever After,” this weekend. It’s just plain awful.
As only liberals would, the makers of this animated New Age, politically correct rendition of Cinderella take a charming fairy-tale and turn it into crap. Instead of the Prince being a valiant, heroic, masculine figure who rescues Cinderella from a life of drudgery and sadness, he’s a doltish airhead and vain primper. Yup, the prince is an idiot, and the smart guy is a lowly, underappreciated servant. In the end, Ella (no longer Cinderella in this version of the tale), ends up with him instead of the idiotic Prince.
The one good part is at the beginning, when we are introduced to “The Department of FairyTaleLand Security,” where a wizard and his two helpers must make sure they maintain the balance between good and evil in fairy tales. I’d be happy if they were running Homeland Security, where evil–sympathizers with Islamists, terrorism supporters, and illegal aliens and the employers who love them–rule things. And I love the name–since the idea that this Department, DHS, is making our Homeland secure is a Fairy Tale.

The rest of the movie is ridiculous, too. Susan Weaver, you know her as “Sigourney,” the pretentious name she took for herself, the horribly annoying actress–who recently attacked American men and compared them to Islamic extremists–voices the wicked stepmother, who is now dressed like a dominatrix. Charming–your kids exposed to dominatrixes (dominatrices?) at an early age. You never can expose them to those stilettos too young.

That movie sounds like absolute trash. I think you’re reading too much into the Department of FairyTaleLand Security thing – that aspect of the movie sounds like trash to me, too.

Just read the comments on your http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2007/01/brokeback_radio.html#comments post and noticed all the fag-bashers were out in force—kind of reminds me of the footnotes in “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich”…your cadre of limaughnistas doth protest too much???
The prince is an idiot…could it be a homage to GW?
Guess you’ve never really WATCHED cartoons, but that industry was always permeated by heads who love yanking the establishment’s collective cranks. All the CONSERVATIVE artists i know of usually follow that Austrian Charlie Chaplin lookalike in their philosophy…so is THAT what you’d like to see young kids emulating???

Phew! The poster child for left-wing hypÈrbolÈ (and lousy, mysogynistic urban violence) mixes metaphors with his mixed up history.
While animated works often are utilized to send a message of one sort or another, “family rated” cartoons usually eschew such political demagogeury. This film certainly makes the case for parental pre-screening.

Now, wouldn’t a sane person avoid taking their children to such fare if only to put off until the proper time and place a discussion such heady matters?
As for the reference to “Reverend” Phelps and his “God Hates Fags” agenda, the man and his very few followers are pariahs wherever they travel.
But, as usual, per the Dhimmicrat talking points, everyone who is repulsed by homosexuality and its attendant agenda must be a homophobic bigot. It’s od news and no one is buying – well, except for P.C. morons.
As for the lame attempts to equate conservatives with the “Fourth Reich” (quick, can you even name the first three?) that only demonstrates the writer’s ignorance. I would be happy to discuss the “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” with anyone who is educated in that arena. Do ya know anyone M und M? Glaub Ich nicht.
:rolleyes
