Merry Christmas, Aztlan! From Sears (Or is that, “Feliz Navidad”?)

By Debbie Schlussel
What is it with “American” retailers and t-shirts? First, we documented Wal-Mart’s Nazi Death’s Head Battalion skull t-shirts (which Wal-Mart is still selling, over a month later).
Now, SEARS is selling “AZTLAN PRIDE” t-shirts. Reader Mary sent us the tip and writes this:

I was shopping for my young cousins on Sears.com. They are wonderful young men who always want T-shirts for Christmas. So I was looking online this afternoon and look what I found.
Apparently Sears supports the reconquista movement. I called and cancelled our Sears charge account that we have had for 15 years.

Sears Aztlan Pride T-Shirts for Christmas?

Apparently, someone needs to remind Sears chief investor and honcho, Edward S. Lampert, that there is no Aztlan . . . for now, and that this is still the United States of America.

Yeah, why not? Let’s support the “Reconquista” movement.
I am a “Conquistador.”
Let’s buy the t-shirt and have a “Feliz Navidad.”
Why the hell not?
Let’s give the South-West to Mexico, the Mid-East to the Muslims and let’s give the Blacks any land they want as a “reparation.”
Probably there will be a civil war between the Muslims and the Mexicans because the Muslims want all of America…and Mexico!
And the Blacks might get involved as well and it will be a mess.
It doesn’t matter as long as it will make all of these people happy by enslaving the Whites and robbing their land.
Yeah, let’s import more illegal aliens, let’s keep the borders wide open, North and South, East and West, let’s give more visas to the Muslims, why not?
Let’s allow more Cubans to enter freely in this country, why not? Tancredo said it best: Miami is a third word city. So let’s support his claim with action.
Yeah, let’s be more open minded, more internationalists, more compassionate toward those who hate and want to kill us, toward those who want to invade us and take our land.
Let’s turn the other cheek, shall we? Or, in other words, let’s ignore them, let’s be nice to them, let’s make peace, embrace and welcome them in our midst. After all, we are the “Bible believers,” aren’t we?
And even if some of us don’t believe in the Bible, we are still human beings, we suffer when our fellow men suffer. Where is compassion? Where are the basic Human Rights?
Yeah, let’s open America, unconditionally, to the rest of the world, friends and foes, invaders and Jihadists, Conquistadors and Cubans.
This country is fucked up!

Hello? Hello? Is anyone there? When is the “silent majority” going to wake up and do something. Cowards! Our grandfathers, members of the greatest generation, deserve better. Are we really going to piss it all away because we’re lazy or too busy with our frickin’ Nintendo’s? WAKE UP you fools!

I love how people blame things on video games.

FSM-FTW!(descent) on December 19, 2006 at 11:48 am

>>I love how people blame things on video games.
That is almost true, if not completely true.
And blaming video games makes MUCH more sense and is factually more correct than blaming Israel and Jews for every problem worldwide, esp when Mozlums put the blame on Israel for fights between Shiites and Sunnis.

anonymous twit on December 19, 2006 at 12:02 pm

Independent Conservative said it all!
BTW, descent, FreeAmerican wasn’t blaming video games for your predicament. He was trying to say that, as you are preoccupied watching mindless sporting events, you’re also too preoccupied playing with yourself on your GameBoy Advance. Instead of paying attention to what REALLY matters, you and your mindless clan are too busy playing with yourselves.
Now, take it easy. I’m not pinning the whole blame on you; I’m just having a bit of fun, but you get my drift.
BTW, I forgot to wish you a Happy Kwanzaa.
BTW, Sears is now on my growing boycott list.

Point taken bruno. I just get irritated with how people, specifically wack-job Jack Thompson, make video games out to be this terrible horror. Using me as an example, I own an Xbox 360, Xbox, and gaming PC, and also indulge in other forms of media(though sports don’t interest me)yet am still politically active and outspoken, having volunteered multiple times to get people to register to vote, etc.
Back on topic, this shirt is pretty weird, but I wouldn’t equate it to the walmart nazi shirt. Which, by the way, is apparently still at many wal-marts.
Merry Christmas

Sears has been on MY “boycott” list for years. What makes it ironic is that recently I received a nasty letter from a collection agency telling me that they would discount the amount I owed from $500+ to $265. When I called to ask WTF? they tried to tell me that Sears said I owed them the money from 1995. I was incredulous. I told the person on the other end that I haven’t shopped at that sleazy chain since the 70’s and they can try to extort money someone else. Since they keep bothering me by phone: next stop, the Attorney General’s office. They messed with the wrong guy.
Re: AZTLAN – that’s one of the reasons I moved out of Aridzona after having lived there most of my life. The once pristine, live life as it comes place is now a filthy, illegal alien infested, crime-ridden dump. An easy way to tell is the fact that every WalMart and KMart parking lot is littered with dirty disposable diapers. And so is the once pristine desert.
All one has to do is visit Messiko. And NO, I don’t mean the American tourista Ènclaves. I mean the entire country outside the tourist hotels and beaches. The place is filthy. The people have NO pride in their own living conditions.
People ned to WAKE UP! “Viva la Raza” means “long live THE race”. That’d be Messikans for you gringos. Try putting THAT on your clothing, bumpers, homes, etc., whitey and see what happens.
:rolleyes
rant over …

Descent,
Geez, how many names do you post under?
I like playing video games now and then. I agree video games are not the cause of America’s decline – it’s just a notion politicos like to exploit in order to fool the populace that they’re in the mainstream. However, real violent games shouldn’t be played by young kids.
Anywho, I can’t believe some Wal-Marts still carry that shirt.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Thee_Bruno on December 19, 2006 at 12:41 pm

I agree that real violent games shouldn’t be played by younger kids. 10000%. Parents that allow it need to be slapped.
Also, this is still my original name, I just changed the nickname. I was getting sick of FSM-FTW!, and, after reading all the puns that alot people use in the comments here, decided this is more appropriate 🙂

As Pee-Wee Herman would say; “Feliz Naviblah”!

Thee_Bruno on December 19, 2006 at 1:01 pm

I’m not sure if Sears is a good bad guy or a bad good guy. The aztlan shirts could easily be one purchasing department employee’s agenda and not the whole company’s. Either way, Sears has a good side, too…

What did ya’ll forget Sears is now owned by K-MART? Doncha remember the old joke– what is a Mexican childs first words? “Attention K-Mart Shoppers”…

Doda McCheesle on December 20, 2006 at 2:11 pm

“what is a Mexican childs first words? “Attention K-Mart Shoppers”..”
It’s funny because it makes a valid point.

Thee_Bruno on December 21, 2006 at 11:42 am

Personally I don’t find this offensive. Instead having done some research into Aztlan there are two ways I can view this.
One:
If the inspiration for the design is based on what is actually known of what Aztlan is and represents then it can be no more offensive than something saying “Garden of Eden” on it.
The Second:
If the inspiration for the design is based on the “Reconquista” movement fueled by the illegal immigration issue, not only is it a sadly humorous display of how gullible, uneducated or just plain lazy some people can be, it has the added element of an almost toddler like selfishness thrown in(see toddler rules of possession for clarification if needed http://parents.berkeley.edu/jokes/toddlerrules.html ).
I suppose the issue has grown enough that I should find it disturbing and offensive, but if the people that have joined the movement are gullible enough to blindly believe impossible to substantiate claims of that being the location of Aztlan…then we should have no problem convincing them we are their Aztec ancestors and directing them elsewhere.
Educated research would indicate the claims of “Reconquista” movement have no basis in fact, thus it appears they have made this up as a self serving tool to aid them in amassing a flock of mindless innocents unable to think for themselves and willing to accept whatever they are told.
Just one of many articles available and easily found online, there are more scholarly articles available if one is so inclined, but posting the information from a site called aztlan.net seemed more fitting 🙂
http://www.aztlan.net/quest_for_aztlan.htm
“What, now, of the question of origins? Where did the Mexica-Aztecs come from? We have seen that beyond the early 14th century when the tribe first entered the Valley of Mexico, the migration texts provide little to follow with certainty. Scholars who have attempted to trace Aztlan to the lakes of northwest central Mexico -to Chapala or nearby seasonal lakes in upland Jalisco; to lakes Patzcuaro or Cuitzeo in Michoacan to the lagoon Mexcaltitlan on the pacific coast of Nayarit, where an island-town preserves its ancient four-quarter layout; or even to the Lagoon Tamiahua on the gulf coast of north Veracruz, have only ended in speculation. For Aztlan was really primarily a place of the imagination. The Aztecs themselves knew this.”
