My Friend, a Wellesley Parent, & The Forced Islamic Prayer by Public School Students

By Debbie Schlussel

One of my coolest friends from college–a handsome former pro athlete and very funny guy–is a parent of kids who attended Wellesley Middle School, the school that made kids pray as Muslims on a trip to a mosque, the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, in May.  We spoke yesterday, and he sent me this BS “apology” letter that was sent to parents by the Wellesley Public Schools Superintendent Bella Wong.  This guy, my friend, is the ideal of “Mr. All-American,” and needless to say, he’s not too happy about this very UN-American incident, as is the case with most sane parents.

islamiccrescent

But as I always say–and have been saying for more than a decade, there is only a separation of Church and State in America, NOT Mosque and State.  In the case of Islam, anything goes.  In fact, if parents had not taken and posted video of this, the half-assed apology letter  would never have happened.  And that’s the point.  The teachers, the principal, and the school district knew better and would NEVER have allowed–let alone forced–students to pray as Christians, reciting their allegiance to Jesus in a church, or as Jews in a synagogue.  It would never have gotten this far.  But teachers, principals, school districts, law enforcement, government, and other authorities in America all bend over backward–and forward–for Islam.  And that’s the larger problem here, a problem I’ve been writing about since well before 9/11.

And if the teachers claim they didn’t know better, they are far too stupid to be teaching children.  Watch the video, and read the letter linked above.  These kids are BEING PROSELYTIZED and propagandized for ISLAM.  I repeat:  they knew better, knew it was wrong to make kids do this, and they’d never do it at a church or synagogue.  But for Islam, anything goes.  If it were 1940, would they have these kids practice a “Sig Heil” salute to Hitler and the Reich?  Same difference.  Except the teachers were smarter in those days, they actually taught instead of taking kids on mindless, useless multi-cultural field trips, and they (most of them) actually were patriotic to America.  None of that is the case, today.

America has Stockholm Syndrome cancer.  We keep sympathizing with those who murdered 3,000 Americans on one day, who try to blow up planes with underwear, and mass-murder a dozen soldiers at an Army base on behalf of Islam.  And our sympathy keeps growing and spreading, as do the number of Muslims in our population.

When will America wake up?  When it’s too late.  And we are already past that point.

If you know anything about Wellesley, Massachusetts, you know that it’s a WASPy, blue-blood place with some families that have been in America since the beginning.  Methinks these kids’ ancestors are turning over in their graves.  Some fought in the Revolutionary War for independence from British colonialism.  Now their descendants’ teachers are pimping the progeny on Islamic colonialism.  Sickening.

Kudos to another Boston-area long-time friend, Dr. Charles Jacobs, founder and head of Americans for Peace and Tolerance, who publicized this and produced the video with the footage. Dr. Jacobs has been a lifelong educator on the perils of Islam who, almost singlehandedly, put the issue of persecution of Black Christians by Muslim in Sudan to the attention of the American people, well before 9/11.  Charles is one of those who is actually doing the real work to fight Islamic extremists, while others take the credit and collect money for doing nothing but fraudulent speechifying and hijacking  his work (like Hanan Tudor a/k/a porn name: “Brigitte Gabriel,” whose entire “story” is a fraud).

***

One other thing:  why the heck are kids in middle school being taken to religious houses of worship?  Why aren’t they, instead, being taught reading, writing, and arithmetic?  This focus on multi-cultural BS, at the expense of the basic educational skills needed to function in American society, is why America continues to be dumbed down–why we continue to turn out dummies from America’s publick skoolz.

Just outrageous. Goes to show the limp wrist approach to the menace of islam. Sorry, but most of the teachers I had in school would’ve been useful idiots as well. For some reason that profession attracts those types of spineless personalities.

Right on the money.
Q-
“Why aren’t they, instead, being taught reading, writing, and arithmetic?”
A-
1)Too boring.
2)Easier to outsource those skills to China, India, etc.
3)Not as important as learning victim studies/community & labor organizing/minority & women’s studies..
4)a hundred other lame excuses

As for culture dumbdown:

Decay. Right before our eyes.

Thank goodness for modern camera & cell phone technology so anyone can record an event and get the news out without relying on “reporters”. I’m a WASPy Mayflower descendent who is home-educating my middle schooler so that she will know how to think analytically and speak authoritatively when culture-pressured to behave in a manner counter to her beliefs. A religion can be studied without being practiced, and that’s what kids should learn in school – how to study a subject and to discern fact from opinon. They should learn how to think, not what to think. Analysis leads to confidence to stand by conviction. Whereas at one time we wanted our kids to be able to stand up under pressure to do wrong (steal, do drugs, or have premarital sex), now they have to be able to push back to defend their rights.

    Right on!

Ryan on September 20, 2010 at 12:32 pm

the only one to blame for this are the chaperons,.. that’s why they are there, to chaperon. So once they see its going not somewhere they think it should be,…politely excuse themselves and explain that our kids will not participate in segregation and prayers especially that it wasn’t on the itinerary of the trip. and get the kids out of there and not sit with thumbs up your ass. If they took them to the zoo and a monkey would be throwing feces at the kids would they sit and video tape it and be outraged or do something about it.

gene on September 17, 2010 at 11:32 am

@ gene disagree with you about the ONLY ones to blame… But I’m thinking maybe the female chaperons feared for their safety if they’d have raised their opinion to leave.

samurai on September 17, 2010 at 11:48 am

Gene, according to another site where I read an account of this ridiculous field trip, attending and participating in the worship service WAS an EXPRESSED intent of this outing. I suspect this was all set up by a representative of the mosque, acting in the name of “outreach.” Of course, the Diversity-worshipping liberals who no doubt run the Wellesley schools would be DELIGHTED to grasp that hand of “friendship” and expose their students to this advertisement for Islam. Remember, CAIR exists to use our own (somewhat naive) systems of communication, media relations, etc., to advance the Islamicization of the United States. This is just another step in that direction.

Of course, you know if a Roman Catholic priest, or Presbyterian minister or a rabbi had extended the SAME invitation, the teachers in Wellesley would have been APPALLED and would have IMMEDIATELY declined, with several well-chosen words against exposing children to “organized religion” and “separation of church and state.”

The stupidity and naivete of liberals will be the death of the United States.

DIVERSITY–>TOLERANCE–>ACCEPTANCE–>MANDATE–>SUBJUGATION

This is disgusting and appalling. Someone should get fired and all this diversity should end. It is not the public schools role to indoctrinate its students about religions and other cultures. That is for the family to determine.

CaliforniaScreaming on September 17, 2010 at 11:47 am

@Samurai
you are right not only, the organizers of the trip obviously weren’t thinking or had other agenda… but fearing for safety?
we are on American soil here,.. if u cant get up and walk out of a mosque for fear of safety,.. holy shit we are in trouble and then that’s definitely not a place to take kids to.

gene on September 17, 2010 at 12:08 pm

@gene, absolutely. Ms. Schlussel has actually gone into mosques to glean intelligence on terror and she did it in disguise. That’s guts. Anyone, including men, take their chances walking into those places. This whole thing just kills me.

Dummies For Islam.

At least they will know Islam stands for peace. Yeah sure – tell that to the Ahmadis who are persecuted because their founder was the Mahdi, the Promised One Of Islam.

What they’re sure NOT to learn about is Islam’s dark and fanatical side and its advocacy of terrorism and bloodshed throughout its history.

Multi-culturalism is all touchy-feely and American kids won’t learn the truth about Islam. We’re indeed already past the point where they will know how to defend America from it in the future.

NormanF on September 17, 2010 at 12:23 pm

Have a good fast, Debbie.

Without petrodollars, Muslims couldn’t build mosques and teachers wouldn’t take students there.

Noa on November 21, 2012 at 2:36 am

The thing that immediately struck me about this, is that the woman in the hijab did not begin her lecture with “We Muslims believe that…” She just started right off with “You have to believe in Allah…” essentially telling everyone there in an unambiguous manner, “Our religion is right and yours is wrong.”

If the ostensible purpose of this field trip was to learn about “architecture” then there was no need to even get out of the bus in the first place. The driver should have just parked for a minute, the teachers should have pointed at the building, briefly explained what the tall pointy portion of it was for (assuming it has a purpose), and then moved on to the next “cultural landmark.”

The fact is, with hundreds of educational documentaries about what goes on both inside and outside “places of worship” available for free at any local library, there’s no need for money wasting field trips like this. Just set up a widescreen TV in the class. Or better yet, open a book and look at pictures.

Irving on September 17, 2010 at 1:45 pm

Don’t bother wasting your time and energy with psychoanalysis and don’t waste your breath telling us that it’s wrong, wrong, wrong. That’s established. The question is: what are we going to do about it?

So long as the school administrators in these instances can get off with a bit of embarrassment and maybe a wrist slap or two, they will keep doing it.

The standard default defence public school administrators have to outraged parents in incidents such as these is basically: “So what? sue your own school district and you’ll be suing yourselves”. I’d like to hear from the more legally-minded what the most effective approach would be in these instances, because s**t like this happens all the time and the good guys need a playbook.

I’m all for educating our kids/Adults about Islam. If I were President, all schools in the U.S. would be required to teach a course on the subject.

The Syllabus would be something like this:
1. The Hijra and the Muslim Calender (A.H.)
2. The Quran before the Hijra (Mecca)
3. The Quran after the Hijra (Medina)
4. The Principle of Abrogation (Sura 2:106)
– The Satanic Verses
– The Verse of the Sword
5. The Chronicles of Muhammad (The Hadiths)
– Muhammad is the ideal Muslim
6. Differences between Jesus and Muhammad

Rick on September 17, 2010 at 2:10 pm

7 Topics for discussion. Why do muslims say Jesus is a prophet and why do christians say Jesus is G-d? How many miracles did Jesus perform according to christians? How many miracles did Jesus perform according to muslims? How did Jesus die according to christians? How did Jesus die according to muslims?

Lady in Northern Virginia on September 17, 2010 at 4:01 pm

We SHOULD be teaching about Islam. Not about the rituals but about the menace.

I_AM_ME on September 17, 2010 at 2:36 pm

Oh, this isn’t the half of it. Check the geography, history and world religions texts your kids are learning from. Islamic civilization is praised for its “tolerance” and its “contributions”, while the others are held in lower regard. Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists are said to “believe” this or “claim” that, while Islamic notions are presented as historic facts (No Muslims “believe” or Mohammed “claimed” here.) The New York Regents exam has a series of questions regarding Islam for which only positive, philo-Islamic positions are given credit. None of this should surprise, as the Regents and all the textbook publishers rely on “guidance” from Muslims.

And note from the video that the ACLU not only doesn’t raise holy hell over this, but actually *supports* the mosque’s outreach! Why is it they are almost always on the wrong side of an issue?

Raymond in DC on September 17, 2010 at 2:54 pm

Disgraceful.

“Because it is an active place of worship, it was anticipated that prayer would occur during the students’ visit… Students are shown to be imitating the act of prayer”

So the mosque is an “active place of worship”? I think my Catholic church is an active place of worship so how come there was no field trip to a Catholic church during mass or during the recitation of the Rosary or perhaps during the recitation of or singing of the Divine Mercy? Some lay Catholics pray every hour for a portion of the day. Do muslims have a monopoly on holiness by virtue of praying 5 times a day?

Since the students were going to be visiting during prayer time they should have been told in advance that they were not to pray under any circumstances and since they were going to a mosque there should have been male and female teachers to guide the students at all times so that no students would be encouraged to pray and out of politeness “pretend to pray”.

Lady in Northern Virginia on September 17, 2010 at 3:32 pm

My thoughts are exact. Suppose if Wellesley Middle School took their students on a class trip to the Bostoner Rebbe’s shul/synagogue ( or any famous Church or Temple there )and were asked to participate in a minyan/prayer service there. These parents would have the same reaction only that the Shul may have a law suite in their hands in a matter of minutes. Its only Islam who is granted a pardon from the ACLU for proselytism. Islam also threatens violence and mayhem to those who try to deter their religious imposition.

The ACLU goes against freedom of religion, Christian prayer. Oh thats right this is forced religion and not Christian; so the ACLU does nothing. American Civil Liberties Union does nothing to stop forced prayer in U.S. public schools!

Montana Miles on September 17, 2010 at 4:58 pm

If you haven’t viewed it yet, the video is quite good, eye opening, and professionally produced.

Not surprising that the “Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center”, a.k.a., a F***ING MOSQUE, was built with a majority of funding from donors in Saudi Arabia. My only criticism is that the video probably overly kind to Islam. Women should particularly love how the Muslim speaker tried to rewrite history by trumpeting Islam and Mohammed as a champion for women’s rights – yes, you heard that right.

I agree with some previous posters; student should be taught the truth about Islam, and that it is nothing like a religion of peace.

I was shocked when I saw this for the first time (a friend sent it to me) I almost sent it to Debbie, glad I checked first. I cannot believe anyone would organize a trip to a mosque. I also cannot believe the teachers allowed the group to be separated for any reason on a field trip. I hope your friend sues the school.

Rocky Lore on September 17, 2010 at 11:12 pm

If the district wants the students to learn about Islam, perhaps they can have the children take part in some role playing scenarios.

Here are some ideas.

1)Have a group of students pretend they are all Moslem. Along the way one student “converts” to Christianity. An imam hands out a death sentence for apostasy, and the Muslim students hold down the Christian and behead him.

2)A student pretends to steal some candy. A group of students playing the religious police hold him down and one “cuts” off his hand as a punishment.

3)A boy and girl playing boyfriend/girlfriend are holding hands. The religious police catch them. They are both tied down and whipped 100 lashes.

4)A group of boys are seated at a table. A girl with uncovered head walks by. The boys get up and start physically assaulting her for not being modest. The next scene shows her walking past with a full burqwa on.

5)A Moslem girl runs away from home and is dating a Christian boy. The next scene shows her parents and brothers berating for the loss of family honor. Then the male family members kill while the mother just watches.

6)Numerous towels are placed on the classroom floor to simulate prayer mats. All the kids are led outside the classroom. There is a call to prayer and only the boys are allowed in the classroom.

7)One student draws a picture of Jesus. Another student draws a picture of Mohammed. A group of boys start berating the boy who drew Mohammed and than they beat him up.

8)Have a student play a Moslem storeowner selling the same piece of candy. Have the first three students playing Moslems be charged 50 cents for the candy. The next student playing a Christian is charged $1. The next student playing a Jew is charged $1. The next student, playing a Moslem is charged 50 cents.

9)Have a girl just walking along and a boy attacks her. The police come and arrest the boy. Show the trial with a boy playing the judge. The girl says she was minding her own business when the boy attacked her for no reason. The boy attacker tells the judge that it was the girls fault, she enticed him. The judge finds the boy not guilty and the girl guilty. She is tied up and all the boys throw foam balls (rocks) at her until she dies.

Wonder if these and others can be incorporated into lesson plans.

In her own way, the white female Muslim convert who is talking to the kids, is practicing jihad. Muhammad said that “war is deceit” and she is doing a bang-up job. Pun intended.

This should be investigated and the teachers that went on the trip and allowed this to happen should be fired. Obviously they cannot be trusted to take the children on a field trip and keep them safe. Were there any male chaperones with the boys?

Angie on September 18, 2010 at 5:09 pm

The muslims are doing this all over the world. The Catholic church in Rome even provides groups of people to be prostelized to by the muslims at the request of the muslims. Many of them convert to Islam after the meetings.

Angie on September 18, 2010 at 5:10 pm

This is not an isolated event. The Muslims are trying to take over the world. They are doing it “peacefully” from the inside. They are patient. They know a war would disrupt their plan, so they are just converting everyone to Islam quietly. Have you noticed the large mosque being built in your area yet?

Angie on September 18, 2010 at 5:12 pm

Debbie,

The worst part of this is not that the kids (including a Jewish boy) prayed in the mosque.

The worst part is the kids were taught the shahada, the muzzie statement of faith. Once that is recited in the presence of witnesses, the person is considered a muzzie. That means, at any time, if the person is caught reverting back to their religion of origin, they are liable for capital punishment by beheading.

The parents should be up in arms against the school board, the teachers and mosque for their egregious example of taqqiya – lying and deception to promote islam.

tamarah180 on September 19, 2010 at 12:08 pm

I think as a matter of principle from now on, ALL parents who were so insulted by this school should refuse point blank for the school to take their children on any more “educational outings”. If this school and these leftie teachers cannot act responsibly to care for and keep our children safe, then they should not be entrusted to take our children anywhere off the school premises, ever.
Tamarah180 is entirely correct. Once a person recites the
shahada, they are regarded as being converted to Islam and any reversion to their previous faith is apostacy and punishable by death.
So what I would like to know now is, are these children safe? Are they safe to go out on the streets, to go out, to be seen at churches, synagogues, cinemas(haram for some Muslims)parties? Has anyone thought about this? If a parent could film the shenanigans in this mosque, did any Muslims covertly film these kids and now have their pictures and know where they are at school? This is serious and I think the parents should launch a class action against the school for dereliction of duty while the school was acting in loco parentis.

While the prayer service and this particular incident certainly ran afoul of The Establishment clause IMHO a trip to a mosque or any type of house of prayer in itself does not run afoul of the constitution. If the purpose is non-secular I believe it is permitted. I can envision many non-secular reasons to visit a house of worship..
