To be fair, they are holding his son. He may think that these comments will be helpful in his release. Its possible he does not actual believe what he is saying.
Lets see what he has to say when/if his son is released.

1.) I don’t know that questioning the behavior or motives of a parent in his situation is meaningful or helpful.
2.) Jennifer Griffin is usually pretty good. I wonder if she just parroted what Israeli pols are saying.
3.) The Israeli soldier knew what he was getting into AND he DID allow himself to be captured by the enemy.
4.) As long as Israel keeps acceding to Pal demands re: prisoner releases, they really have no room to complain.

The Palestinians will only view Noam Shalit with contempt. Any appeal to their humanity is a waste of time as they have none. Someone wrote that there is no sense of appealing to the hearts and minds of the heartless and mindless. Israel has paid lopsided prisoner exchanges before (Israeli corpses for live terrorists) and with Prime Minister Bad Combover I
expect them to do it again.

Tactics are only used and repeated if they work and there is no corresponding price sufficient enough to deter such action. There are plenty of young fanatics willing to die, but what about the old men sending them? What about their families are they willing to murder if their families are killed for their crimes? The West, in particularly the Jews, are not prepared to do the terrible things necessary to win peace.
Alexander of Macedon (the Great) once had his horse kidnapped and held hostage. He threatened to annihilate the tribe city/state responsible to the last man and his horse was returned with apologies.
People wouldnt throw rocks at people with machine guns if the people with machine guns shot them.
People wouldnt hide weapons in mosques, schools and hospitals if it didnt make a difference. They know their enemy and they react accordingly. It gives them a tremendous advantage, one never before seen in history.

I agree with your analysis on this one 100%, Debbie. What is so sad is that so many Jews (and others) attribute far better qualities to their enemies then they deserve. The golden rule does not apply with people who are trying to kill you.
Look at the koran AKA “mohammed’s playbook for muslim conquest”–it warps the minds of these palestinians and Arabs and others to do so many wicked things. The root reason is that, like the Nazis, the muslims reduce Jews to demon status.
You can’t make peace with people who live for the express purpose of hating/killing, and annihilating you. Hello??

It is understandable what that father of the kidnapped soldier is going through. Nobody wants to be in his shoes.
Yet, there are limits to everything. One has to draw the line at a certain point.
To cave into the Muslim terrorists because they are holding hostage someone dear to us will only embolden them to kidnap and kill more of us, the Infidels.
The only way to defeat the Muslims is to be tougher than them and to make them pay dearly for their aggression and violence.
whining, crying or caving into their demands is the sign of defeat.
