Immigration Status of Dry Run Islamic Terrorists: Guess Which Prez Gave One a Green Card? Other is Illegal

By Debbie Schlussel

Last night, as I watched local Detroit TV news coverage of the two Islamic terrorists from Yemen, Mohamed Nasser al Soofi and Hezem Abdullah Thabi al Murisi–the men whose luggage contained explosives in an apparent terrorist “dry run”–I wondered about their immigration status.

Ahmed Nasser Al-Soofi & Hezem Al-Murisi: Neither of These Islamic Terrorists Should Be Here

That’s because local relatives–who are VERY DISTANT relations–of Al Soofi said that he does NOT speak English and, yet, he lived here for years and worked at a job in Alabama to send money back to his wife and kids, WHO LIVE IN YEMEN. Huh? Why is he here? It turns out that Al Soofi has legal permanent resident status a/k/a a “green card.” Why? How did he get it? He isn’t from here, his family lives there, his relatives who are here are very distant relations, and he doesn’t speak English. So, why was he given a green card and the right to work at jobs that Americans should be doing?

If we stopped this baloney, we could get rid of a ton of potential and actual Islamic terrorists like him right off the bat.  But, instead, as I’ve reported before, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services spend less than six minutes per background check per green card applicant.  So, even if there was a red flag–and that doesn’t need to be a presence on the terrorist list or terror watch list, but can be the factors I’ve listed above–there is no way they’d have even noticed.  It’s basically a rubber stamp.  And by the way, the rubber stamp f0r Al Soofi’s green card was issued under PRESIDENT BUSH.  Many experts and former feds complained about the inadequate background checks for green card applicants.  And BUSH. DID. NOTHING.

And, then, there is Al Murisi.  He came to the U.S. on a visitor’s visa, which he apparently overstayed for quite some time.  That means he’s an illegal alien.  Why is he still here?  And why don’t we track guys like him to make sure they are gone when their time is up?  Well, you can thank Republicans for that one, too.

As I’ve previously noted on this site, in 1999 and 2000, Republican Senator Spencer Abraham (a Lebanese Arab and pan-Muslim apologist whose chief advisor and press secretary/apologist at the time was FOX News Contributor Dan Senor) starved the INS budget of all funds meant for a computerized visa tracking system for all aliens, a system Congress voted for but Abraham defunded so that it would never happen.  Abraham–whom Mark Levin praised and for whom he repeatedly made excuses when Abraham later became Fred Thompson’s campaign manager and I raised this issue–defunded the computer tracking of aliens at the behest of the pro-HAMAS/pro-Hezbollah Islamic terrorism-apologist, Jim Zogby, President of the Arab American Institute.

But, don’t worry, on Mark Levin’s show, tonight, the high-pitched hack will not mention this.  Instead, he’ll engage in his usual ignorant partisanship and blame Obama.

Sorry, Mark-of-Idiocy, but these two terrorists came here and stayed under President Bush.  And he didn’t enforce immigration laws either.  It’s worse under Obama, but it was bad enough under Bush.

And remember these two, whenever you see and hear former Bush administration official Dan Senor on FOX News or in the Wall Street Journal excreting his BS about being against Islamic terrorism. He’s responsible for people like this wandering in our midst and trying to blow up planes, because he helped stop America from tracking and deporting them.

Again, no, I still don’t miss Bush yet.  If you do, maybe you’d like to take a plane ride with the luggage of Mohamed Nasser al Soofi and Hezem Abdullah Thabi al Murisi.

Yes, Bush is gone from office, but his squandering of over seven years post-9/11 lives on forever and we shouldn’t forget his many misdeeds that brought us to this point.  I’m sure his soon-to-be-released memoir will be well-fertilized with claims about how tough the former Prez was on national security and terrorism issues.  Don’t believe it.  As my late father would say, “Cast Thy S**t Upon the Waters.”

Yup, the Bush national security / “counter-terrorism” excrement is floating back to us in spades.  If they had blown up the plane with those explosives in the luggage, sadly he would get none of the blame he so richly deserves.

Great article Debbie, I first heard this story on Michael Savage’s radio show yesterday evening, when you mentioned which president issued one of these guys a green card, I wasn’t surprised that it was Bush who did that by issuing a green card to one those guys. I hope other conservative sites post this story on their webpage and give out the entire facts on which former president gave one of these guys a green card.

the problem of USA is that they spend huge ammount of money for security and still all methods are not very effective. bad news is that terrorists have now cooperation with mexico- USA neighbor, which means that USA has to double chek it is boarders instead of giving green cards to terrorists.

dara@israel on August 31, 2010 at 1:26 pm

I doubt it Sean. It’s been troubling how many Conservatives pander to their side…right or wrong.

It’s sad when the bottom line is that they are afraid of truths they did not count on (Sean Hannity CONcert scam, Prince alWaleed bin Talal being the second biggest owner of News Corp.).

It’s hard hearing stuff like this but I want to know the truth. It should be so easy for the Conservatives to beat Zero in November, but there are so many fools and even at this point, we STILL don’t have a person who would be a great leader. Sad.

dara writes, “the problem of USA is that they spend huge ammount of money for security and still all methods are not very effective.” Now you understand why I refer to our current efforts as security “theater”.

Here’s a simple “compare and contrast”: When you’re traveling to or from Israel, you’re asked questions – simple questions that trained personnel use to expose nefarious intent. A TSA inspector at Ft. Lauderdale had his own brand of “talk”. In between perfunctory checks of one’s documents he was chatting with passengers about … college sports teams’ prospects! And does anyone trust the security dedication of airport inspectors in Islamic garb at Detroit, Toronto or London?

One terrorism analyst was, I believe, quite correct when he saw success even in the undie-bomber’s failure to bring down the Detroit-bound plane. For it caused us to ramp up our “security” expenditures even more in response to our growing fear, while delivering no true improvements in security.

“If we stopped this baloney, we could get rid of a ton of potential and actual Islamic terrorist like him right off the bat.”

Really? I just have two three questions:
1. How many people, roughly, is a “a ton of terrorists”? 50? 1,000? 5 million?
2. What is your evidence for this claim?
3. How do you define “potential” terrorist? Is it someone who is very likely to start committing acts of terror and merely awaits an opportunity for the transition from potential to actual? Is it someone for whom the possibility of becoming a terrorist is greater than 0 (that is, anyone)? Or do you have some other definition (such as “is a Muslim”)?

One Islamic tribalist can ruin a country’s whole day…
    or
One Islamic tribalist can ruin a ton of fun…

Really, what is your logical point?

esther on September 1, 2010 at 12:59 am

Sorry “two three” should just be “three”.

Michael LaBossiere on August 31, 2010 at 2:30 pm

ICE is overworked, understaffed and has an immigration and enforcement backlog that goes back years. They are chronically short of qualified personnel and funding and can’t rigorously enforce our laws with the resources they’ve got. We hear promises to toughen things up but nothing ever gets done. And that’s how it will remain in the future.

NormanF on August 31, 2010 at 3:08 pm

Why did some of their luggage travel on a different flight and end up in Dulles and they ended up in Amsterdam? I thought that this was impossible after 9/11?

NancyB on August 31, 2010 at 3:45 pm

I’ve gotta agree with you about Bush. Do you know what “W” actually means when people call him that? Worthless!

Another excellent post, Debbie.

1) As long as politicians equate $spent with stepped up effort and improvement…..there will be no improvement. Improvement will come with brains, guts, no backing down, enforcement, and yes- some $.
2) Even if Reagan is resurrected tomorrow and storms the WH with an army of a million, we’ll still suffer the same crap. Why? Because under GHB, the Clintones,GWB and BHO, mandarins and lifers have been inserted into operational and/or sensitive jobs. They will still be there for years to come, pissing on whatever improvements in ‘policy’ are emanating from the top.

“Al Soofi’s green card was issued under PRESIDENT BUSH”

I didn’t know Presidents were issuing green cards. No matter who’s President these days, the career staff of most government agencies tends to be leftwing. That’s specially true for the State deprtament and other agencies dealing with foreigners and foreign policy. It was no different under Reagan. No matter who’s at the top, the ones doing the actual work and making decisions are liberals.

As usual it’s up to Debbie Schlussel to get the real news on these savages. Mainstream media is too busy towing the company line of “nothing to see here, move along.”

While we are all bashing Bush, lets take a look at the Clinton administration and the condition in which it left our Defense community :

1) Equal opportunity in the military officer corp? If a White male earns a promotion, a minority and a female must also be promoted???? Sounds like great National Defense policy to me!!!! ( Would you care to guess the gender of the commanding officer at Abu Ghraib prison when the S**t hit the fan???)

2) Watered down basic training so women can get in on all those goodies like free food, clothing and a pay check? Dont mind all that training going to waste when they get pregnant on the “Field of battle” by a fellow soldier, or because they have been moonlighting as prostitutes “For the boys”.

3) Not only did Clinton rape several women, he raped our intelligence community budget, leaving us blind on 9/11.
There is a reason the CIA gave the Air Force “Incorrect coordinates” in their bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1999. In the intelligence community, there is no such thing as a coincidence. The CIA was giving a big “F*ck you” to Bill Clinton and his more than cozy relationship to PRC. A relationship that including Clinton leaving our defenses hamstrung when he left office.

I dont see any of those shenanigans going on in the Bush administration. There may have been a lot of closet Commies and Jihadists trying to stab him in the back, but I dont blame him for that.

B: Did Clinton go to war to give extremist Muslims who support Iran “free elections” so that they could kick out all Christians and Sunnis from their government and country and hand Iraq to Iran, completing the Shi’ite Crescent? While you are busy serving as uninformed Bush apologist, please answer that question? DS

The men have been released, freed, allowed to travel on but like a typical whore you have no interest in facts.. you’re only interest is serving Israel… thats what the right to free speech allows you, the right to slander anyone and make up whatever story you like.. therefore your mother is a slut, might as well make that claim since facts dont matter on this site and I am sure you will have no objection to the fact that your mother is a slut…

PathanfromAfghan on September 1, 2010 at 10:53 pm

Debbie, in answer to your question, Bush nearly caused an overthrow of the Iranian regime without a single American bullet being fired when he gave free and fair elections to the Iraqis. When Iranians witnessed Democracy close up, and realized their elections had been stolen from them, the protests were enormous. It was Obama who refused to press the advantage Democracy holds over dictatorship.

Why do yo think China sends missiles over the little island of Taiwan every time they have elections? Dictatorships are scared of Democracy.

Remember : Israel is the birth place of Democracy. As commanded in the Bible, all local leaders in Israel were elected from the time our nation first set foot on the land.

In the history of the world, no two Democracies that formed a peace treaty ever attacked eachother. If we are to achieve world peace, Democracy must prevail.

B: Wow, not sure what you’re smoking. But Bush did no such thing. Only a moron would believe the Iranian protestors in the streets were moderates. They were supporters of Hezbollah and extremism, no different than those in power. Big deal. And it had nothing to do with Bush. Your platitudes and generalities are irrelevant. I deal in reality. Bush was awful and blew seven years after the 9/11 attacks, doing everything in his power to make us less safe and increase the number of Islamic immigrants and the bending over backwards for them. Wake the heck up. The Bush fantasy revisionism is really getting comical and ever so sad. DS

Debbie,

Why have these two wannabe terrorists been released? At least one of them had fake bombs in his luggage, with quite a few cell phones. Paul W. Smith said he was told by local Arabs that it is common to carry ‘gifts’ to people in the Middle East from others here in town. As he asked on his radio show, “Do you wrap presents in duct tape? I don’t think so.” Plus, it is illegal to export cell phones without a license. The cell phones in question had to be illegally converted to work with foreign electrical systems and broadcasting systems. Remember the Arabs who were buying cell phones with cash a few years ago, and throwing away the chargers? This is more of the same.

At least one of the men in Amsterdam was conducting a ‘dry run’ to check American security, which proved to be poor. He should be charged with the crimes of smuggling cell phones and of engaging in terrorist activity. Why can’t people see this?

DJ: Paul W. Smith is a half-Lebanese pan-Islamic watercarrier for extremists, always repeating their hackneyed excuses. Local Arabs have been saying this BS since the incident, but it’s still BS. They have plenty of cellphones there and plenty of Pepto Bismol. Believe me, if those were truly the “gifts” they were giving Yemeni relatives, they’ve have been thrown out of their hosts’ houses. These were terrorists. This was a dry run. Period. Will be posting a longer piece on this. DS
