I was just in houston earlier last month. It’s really bad down there, and something needs to be done to controll it.

Yes, I live in Houston and it is indeed very bad here. I am a member of multiple border security groups, and we do protests often, do illegal day labor site monitoring (by writing down license plates of vehicles picking them up and then mailing federal and state laws that they are breaking to them, as well as video taping it all), and I have also done three different border watches along the Texas/Mexico border.
It’s a warzone in Texas, as in other states. One of our Houston police officers (an enormous and powerful guy) was murdered last month when an illegal alien (once convicted of a sexual crime on a young girl and ‘deported’ before coming right back) shot him 4 times in the back of the head. Not a good situation … but we’re still a sanctuary city!

Bush is not clueless. Machiavelli’s puppet maybe. Amnesty is not the goal. The NAU is the goal. But he wants both so badly that he would (did) sacrifice the republican party to get it. He will sacrifice America to get it. He gets his wish now, amnesty, and can blame the democrats later to boot. Pelosi will simply be the butter sliding us on the road into amnesty, then recession, and to their common goal, NAU. By 2008, it will be too late. After the next 20 million invaders arrive, and the economy is collapsing because of it, will anyone really care? Bush will promise that the NAU will save us from the depression (its coming). And we will beg for it. We will kill the U.S.A. with our own hands. No terrorist required. Can you hear it now? Thousands and thousands of marching feet are already moving north. Just good hard working folks. No intention of stealing America right out from under our clueless feet, really! Viva the reconquest, fiesta time! Clueless, my a**. Dangerous as a Texas rattlesnake? Absolutely!

First of all, it’s not Bush’s fault if you think that he’s “clueless.”
As our beloved president always says: He looks at the big picture, he makes the big policies and leaves the rest, the details, to the little man.
So, if the little man didn’t do its job, that’s not Bush’s fault. It’s not that he was clueless, but come on now Debbie, he is the president, he has no time for those little details, such as losing the elections because of some staff who didn’t do his job properly of informing him that amnesty for illegal immigrants is a no-no.
Secondly, you are calling on our beloved “presidente” to wake up?!?! Just to wake up from what? Shame on you Debbie! Our Bush is up and running. He knows everything, he is capable and he is a man of God.
After 6 years in power, you think our beloved president is still clueless and is sleeping?!?!

Well, Debbie, with the House AND Senate now in Democratic control, all that’s left for ICE Special Agents to do is tidy up their resumes, pack up their desks and head for the hills. Because, if you think enforcement is lacking now, just wait until Catwoman Pelosi and her dangerous brood of feral kitties take over D.C.
Believe you me, the pandering has yet to begin: After they take over Congress, deportations will slow to a halt, worksite enforcement investigations will be impeded from the highest levels and general immigration-related investigations will shrivel up and die because there will be no stomach or support for them from the top down. And, since ICE has all but abdicated its legacy Customs mission, I guess it will be nice for us legacy Customs agents to kick back and earn that nice GS-13 salary for doing absolutely nothing, which will be what Congress wants, anyway. The only good that will come out of this is that Ms. Myers will most certainly be out as Assistant Secretary, and, perhaps, all of her cronies, too.
As for me, I like to work and actually do something with that Criminal Investigator certificate it took me 20 weeks to get. So, hopefully, right after the New Year, I will get the IG job with an unnamed agency that I have been carefully cultivating for the last few months, and will actually do what I was trained to do: INVESTIGATE AND PROSECUTE CRIMINALS. And, once I leave this f**king agency, I’m never looking back at ICE or anything it represents – lame duck, do nothing, incompetent and inept. My only sorrow will be for the many fine people I will leave behind who will be left to clean up the mess of a failed immigration policy, and a Customs mission that was sold down the river by Bush and his crony a**holes.

I don’t understand how people could believe voting Democrat would help the illegal immigration situation.
I mean Bush and the Senate took the public’s interest in controlling illegal immigration and perverted it into immigration ‘reform’ which did the exact opposite of the what the public wanted. The Republican House is the only thing that stopped them. Now Bush and Democrats will get their way.
In fact I would guess to suck up to the Democrats, we’ll see nearly immediate Amnesty of the 10-20 million illegals nearly all of whom will become voting Democrats (if they aren’t already) signed by Bush. This will tilt the Democrats into power for several more years

JPM100 – I believe you are on to something there as far as the American Vote! America probably got a real good taste of America’s new “electorate” this election. Remember the Democrats were out there registering voters during those big Illegal Immigration marches. Unfortunately law enforcement is only allowed to check to see if Ann Coulter is voting illegally, not anyone else!

The Bush plan for the North American Union is right on schedule. Now that he has the Republican Congress out of the way, he will get Pelosi to propose Amnesty again and it will get passed in the Senate.
Want proof?
He waited until after the election to throw Rummy under the bus. If he had announced it previous to the election, the RNC would have kept Congress.
I predict he will throw another Patriot under the Bus, John Bolton.
In his press conference yesterday, he announced to America he has surrendered to the Democrats and proved it by throwing out Donald Rumsfeld.He then announced he was looking forward to working with Pelosi on Immigration.
GWB is a traitor and has sold out the conservatives that put him into office.

among Americans who voted “based on issues voters called ‘extremely important,'” those who voted on the immigration issue, voted 45% Republican and 54% Democrat. That should tell the President something. Those who vote based on immigration are overwhelmingly those who want to end our lax immigration enforcement, to end the hemmorhaging of illegals into our nation.
I disagree with the message Bush will get from the election results that his stance on immigration is too lax.
First the numbers above show that 56% of the people explicitly accept the Democrats open borders policy and does not tell us anything about the minority of Republicans — whether they are against Bush’s open borders policy or for it. Even assuming that the 44% of the respondents who are republican are for more border control, there is still a huge deficit to make up;
Second- the numbers of Hispanic voters who jumped ship from 2004 to support dems – more likely than not – did so specifically because they thought the Dems were more lax on immigration than republicans. This was reinforced not only by the overall hispanic trend, but also by the fact that pro-border control republicans in Arizona got beaten by democrats opposing immigration reform.
No, the only message Bush will learn is that Republicans must pander even more to the border jumpers.
Unless there are indications that the republican base will soundly get behind tougher boarder laws, and the large right-center part of the country will do so, making this a Republican platform will spell the same results in 2008. Accordingly, I expect fewer Border First candidates to run and little noise to be made about border security in the next two years. In that time, Bush will, with a compliant Democratic congress, be able to kill any semblance of border control, perhaps even taking that issue off the table for 2008, much less showing a strong unified Republican front on tougher border control.
