Sleeping With The Enemy: Sex & The City’s Kim Cattrall

By Debbie Schlussel
In Touch Magazine reports that “Sex & The City’s” aging Kim Cattrall, 48, is now “dating” (euphemism) actor Alexander Siddig, who played 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in “The Hamburg Cell” and one of Saladin’s soldiers in the pro-Islamist “” (which bombed in the theaters, earlier this summer).

Most used piece of equipment in the Infidel gym . . .

now used by the enemy.

But, sometimes, life imitates art. Siddig’s real name is Siddig El Fadil, and he has ties to the terror-sponsor government of Sudan (on the State Department Terrorist List). Siddig’s uncle, Sadiq Al-Mahdi, is a former Sudan Prime Minister, who helped oversee the wholesale Muslim torturous slaughter of Sudan’s Black Christians. Al-Mahdi is president of the Sudan’s Islamist Umma party and Imam of Sudan’s extremist Al-Ansar religious group. These groups made Bin Laden a welcome resident of the Sudan, from which he planned the bombings of the U.S. embassies in East Africa.
Siddig not only won’t denounce his terrorist uncle, he’s proud of him and put him in his Hollywood bio.
Of course, the mindless In Touch Magazine doesn’t tell you any of this. All the mag does is gush how both Cattrall and Siddig had roles on Star Trek. Big deal. Then it tells us how “sexy” this nephew of a terrorist leader is and describes “their obvious chemistry” as “electric.” I’d say it’s more like, “explosive,” as in the explosions of two embassies filled with innocent Americans, Kenyans, and Tanzanians–all planned in Sudan by Bin Laden.
Kim Cattrall, sleeping with the enemy.

I like the caption.
So, uh, what terrorist acts has this guy committed then? It sounds like his uncle is the “enemy” here and not him.
I mean if you say that Kim Cattrall is sleeping with the enemy, then how about the Bush family’s connection with the Bin Laden family?

Clompo on August 16, 2005 at 4:53 pm

Little logic lesson, folks.
If A is related to B, and B does C, that doesn’t mean A did C.
In Debbie’s world if A is related to B, whatever B does in this world, then A is responsible.
I’m sure Ms. Schlussel has a relative here or there that has done some crime or misdemeanor. Therefore, Debbie YOU are guilty!
I can’t wait for her scoop that Sarah Jessica Parker is a terrorist because she has a cousin who works at Logan Airport who actually put fuel in one of the planes of 9/11.

Debbie Does Al Qaeda on August 16, 2005 at 5:14 pm

I remember that guy. He was great on Star Trek Deep Space Nine! He played Dr. Bashir. I have no in depth knowledge of his religious or political preferences, but I enjoy his acting. I did see an interview he had and he appeared to be gentlemanly and did not call for the fall of western civilization at the time. Unless someone comes up with a little more than a crazy uncle, I’ll keep thinking that he’s a good actor and nothing more, thank you.
Love ya, Deb, but come on.

Ruslfish on August 16, 2005 at 5:28 pm

If Siddig would denounce his terrorist uncle, there would be less cause for concern. On the contrary, Siddig not only has expressed his pride in this murderous relative of his, but he proudly puts it in his bio/resume. I am not the one who said, “You are either on our side or the terrorists’ side,” but I subscribe to that statement more than the utterer of those words. This case is one of those examples. Make no mistake. He is as bad as his uncle and is the enemy. The problem is not just those who fund, plan, and commit terror, it is those who support it and give it sanction.

Debbie Schlussel on August 16, 2005 at 5:44 pm

Could you give us the passage where he says he’s proud of his terrorist uncle? All I could find was this small excerpt from his bio:
“The Sudan of the late ’60s was, as it is now, a place of political turmoil. Sid’s uncle, Sadiq Al Mahdi, was ruling the Sudan in 1965, but was soon deposed. In fact, the hospital where Sid was born was tear-gassed while his mother was giving birth, a barometer of the climate there at the time.”
Ok, so perhaps he should denounce his uncle, but I see nothing where he mentions being proud of him.

Clompo on August 16, 2005 at 6:13 pm

I know that he treated his ex-Star Trek costar and wife, Nana Visitor, like a piece of trash…but other than that, I don’t know much about him.

MichaelRoland on August 16, 2005 at 8:08 pm

One last comment…he was also the nephew of Malcolm McDowell who ironically killed Captain Kirk in the Star Trek movie “Generations”.Now there’s a real reason to hate him.

MichaelRoland on August 16, 2005 at 8:38 pm

Rock on Ms. Schlussel. How in the world do you find these things out?

I think the real scandal behind this is that you’re reading “In Touch,” Debbie. Put that crap down and pick up “Soldier of Fortune”.

Preston Taylor Holmes on August 17, 2005 at 9:30 am

Is there any connection between Kim Catrall and any of her co-stars in Police Academy 3 to any seedy, little Islamo-Fascists?! Steve Gutenberg is obviously off the list, but what about Bob”cat” Goldthwate, or Bubba Smith?!

Obviously, nobody on here knows Sid, nobody even tried. If you did, you would know the reason why Nana and Sid broke up. He was away a lot filming, doing dangerous things in movies in NZ etc. There may be more issues, but I’m not one to pry, although Nana did find a replacement pretty quickly, didn’t she? And anyway there’s nothing on the net to prove that Sid was in anyway abusive. Another is that he’s not a terrorist, not even close, besides, the last time I checked Sudan Africa was in South America, not Europe. Sid’s half Sudanese and half Brittish. He grew up in London with his Brittish mother who just happened to marry a Brittish man. Sid also has a younger brother who’s all Brittish, and Sid shows how much he cares about him in little ways. My proof that you’re tossing rumors around on here is the following.
————————–
Following the terrorist attacks on America September 11, 2001, Sid sent this letter of sympathy and comfort to his friends and fans.
Dear All,
If Christmas is a time when we get together to celebrate the family, and Thanksgiving marks a day of gratitude for the community – New Year’s a time of national cohesion … then I hope history will remember Tuesday the eleventh of September 2001 as the day when humanity as a race came together to fight our common enemy within – our own messed up brothers and sisters who share this world with us.
I have been glued to the television these past two days, punching redial on my telephone every ten minutes or so for six hours yesterday until the international phone lines cleared up, just waiting to hear news of my little boy and his mother and his brother, all of whom I was worried about. During these past two days I have heard and seen gestures and moments of such courage and selflessness that I simply had to write to you, the only group of Americans I know (personally in many cases) if for no other reason than to remind you all that you are in sympathetic company all over the world. Your nation is not alone. The British Prime Minister has said today that this was not just an attack on the American people but on the free world. Leaders from nearly every country have unanimously stepped up to the plate to try and share your grief, offer their support and burden the responsibility of exacting some kind of revenge on the sad and lost people who did this.
I like to think that the very few people who were in the vicinity and have so far survived these attacks have set an example for all of us. Their calmness, their understanding of what needed to be done, their ability to stop running and turn to help someone less fortunate than themselves are examples of what every one of us on this planet is capable of. If America is the leader of the free world (and I believe it is) then these Americans have lead by example.
It isn’t my place to tell any of you how to react – your own personal consciences will, no doubt, be your guides – but I would like to add ‘my two cents’ to your discussions on this topic and beg you to remember that many of the people who are saddened and shocked by all this are people who will, in the days to come, seem like your enemies – people who had no part in this, who also have children and lovers and family. Many Islamic countries have condemned this action including aggressive states like Syria and Iran -even Palestine. I am not a Muslim nor indeed am I a Christian, I am just another person bumbling through life, trying to stay on my own two feet. And I am not an American, but I can hear what the rest of the world has to say about this tragedy and from what I can tell, the rest of the world is holding out a friendly, helping hand. It’s possible that you may not need any other country’s help – but the hand is still there.
I hope that when I see you again soon we can all say that our reactions to these atrocities have begun the process of putting an end to world-wide terrorism – not perpetuating it. I sincerely hope that none of your families have been personally marked by all this.
Sid
—————————
And more recently
“Prior to 9/11,” says actor Alexander Siddig, “I was happily going along, doing my own business and not too concerned about my ethnicity. I’m someone who didn’t even discover that I was Muslim until I was in my late-thirties.” The nephew of English movie star Malcolm McDowell,
39-year-old Siddig is probably best known for his seven-year stint as Dr. Julian Bashir on the popular TV series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Born Siddig El Tahir El Fadil to an English mother and Sudanese father in the Sudan, Siddig (he goes by Sid) has felt the pull of eastern
and western cultures his entire life. Now, he says of his acting career, “I see myself as a diplomat first and foremost; I see myself as someone who is an interlocutor between these two cultures.”
Sadiq Al Mahdi, Sid’s paternal uncle, ruled the Sudan in 1965 but was deposed, creating an untenable situation for his family. “Until fairly recently,” Siddig says, “it was pretty dangerous for me to go back there.” Even the hospital where Siddig was born was tear-gassed
while his mother was giving birth. The increasing unrest prompted his mother to immigrate with her young son to England around 1969. There he enjoyed a privileged upbringing, far away from the political turmoil that would continue to rip apart the Sudan for decades.
Blessed with an infectious laugh and disarmingly English wry wit, Siddig speaks without bitterness of the racism he encountered in
English private schools. “Kids, when they are racists to one another, aren’t full of the venom that adults are,” he says, commenting that
the worst he encountered were epithets like “Paki,” which were more
ignorant than hateful. “Maybe I had a particularly privileged or unusually
cushy environment, but I never took major offense,” he says. “I just thought, They’re also talking about the fat kid and the red-headed kid, whatever makes you stand out.”
But politics is practically impossible to escape these days, especially for an Arab Muslim living in London. Siddig is quiet, and there is no hint of laughter in his voice when he speaks: “It’s becoming a pandemic, I’m afraid to say. I’m really not quite sure where to look with regard to this. It’s such a tiny, tiny minority of people with an axe to grind, and I guess they’ve been kind of conned by this message. And now it’s as though the planet has collided in some bizarre way, the most horrifying of the West meets the most horrifying of the East.”

alexander_siddig_fan on November 4, 2005 at 6:23 am

Hey Debbie, do you work for ‘Star magazine’ or something? It sounds like your just trying to find someone to blame here. Even though Siddig is half muslim, he’s still half English. And not to mention the fact he didn’t meet his dad until he was 17 years old in Sudan. He never mentions his uncle himself. And if his uncle is so evil, (if he helped oversee the wholesale Muslim torturous slaughter of Sudan’s Black Christians) then he most likely wouldn’t approve of Sid’s birth to begin with. And if Sid’s so horrible, then why would he call Nana’s boys his? I mean obvoiusly the first child was with another man. And that is probably because his mother met his stepfather when he was 8. And like alexander_siddig_fan said, his stepdad was British, as well as his little brother who was born when Sid was 16. I got this from his site.
Sid has a close relationship with is mother, stepfather and younger brother Thomas. Right after he arrived in the U.S., Sid recounted that he called his mother once a week (“and she calls me once a day!”). Sid’s mother worked as public relations officer, dealing with the press for theaters in England. She spent a lot of time in theaters, and this was part of Sid’s early exposure to the acting community. Sid’s stepfather is a highly respected person in the arts in England and often called upon to help as a creative consultant in production aspects for plays and operas. Sid’s mother and stepfather met when Sid was 8 and married when he was 12. The biggest change for Sid was moving from the city to the country, a move Sid liked.
Younger brother Thomas was born when Sid was 16. Sid remembers the day he learned he would have a sibling: “[Mother] told me she was pregnant in the supermarket and I remember going ‘ha, ha, ha. . .so should we get the apples or should we get. . .’ And she said, ‘No, I am pregnant!’ And it was great! It was terrific thing. I was there at the hospital when he was born. I remember drawing pictures of him because he was such an easy thing to draw. I would watch him sleep for hours. I loved him. . .absolutely adore him. He’s like a son to me.”
In 1996, Sid had to qualify that last statement as he realized having a son wasn’t quite like having a much younger brother. Sid’s own son with co-star Nana Visitor, Django El Tahir El Siddig, was born in September 1996. Sid is clearly “over-the-moon” for Django. At the DS9 wrap party in 1999, someone asked Sid to name the best thing from his years on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. His answer? “You saw him running around here last night. A little two-year-old boy.”
Sid and Nana divorced in April 2001, and he currently resides in England with frequent trips “across the pond” for family and work. Post-DS9, Sid is keeping busy with other projects.
Oh, and in reference to the parts he plays… What do you think he can be? I mean there’s always bad guys in movies. And he’s (with the exception of Deep Space 9) been stero-typed. I mean you can’t expect him to play anyone who doesn’t tan well. That’s like saying, “Oh well so n so played a murderer in blah blah blah, so they must really be a murderer. In addtion to all this evidence to hopefully close this off. If you ever saw him in “MI5” Season 2 episode 2 “Nest Of Angels”. You’d see that he plays a good character. Of course, if you haven’t seen it I spoiled it by saying that, but he took that part because he was against all the terrorist crap. Alexander Siddig is not to be feared to used as a punching bag. So if you find some REAL evidence Deb, don’t blab. Please? It’s really annoying when you try to look up a good actor and find untrue/assumed knowledge. And Clompo, I would like to know where you read about Sid mistreating Nana. I know he built a playground set for the boys and that he and Nana are still very good friends. I need to know how YOU know more then I do. And from what alexander_siddig_fan has added, I see that I’m not his only fan. And if you went to the site http://www.sidcity.net you’d all see Sid is not the enemy. And I believe that Kim has good taste this time around. Hopefully for her future to be good, I hope it lasts. And I agree with alexander_siddig_fan about Nana & Sid, I got this info from her site.
Sid and Nana divorced in April 2001 as their careers took them in different directions (and different continents). Nana became engaged to Matthew Rimmer, CHICAGO’s company manager, in early 2002, and they wed in April 2003.

Everyone sort of seems to be taking for granted that Sid’s uncle did those things. I could be wrong, but wasn’t it Omar Hasan Ahmad al-Bashir, the current president of Sudan who took control in 1989, and not Sadiq al-Mahdi (Sid’s uncle)who was in control during the “torturous slaughter of Sudan’s Black Christians”?
That said, Debbie, if your logic of guilty by association follows then arenÔø?t we all just as guilty for the representatives and presidents that we vote into office and the innocents that are killed during the wars that our countries are directly involved in or the wars that or representatives sponsor?

Veronica on February 12, 2006 at 11:02 pm

Until this moment, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness. Guilt by innuendo and guilt by association. Have you no sense of decency, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?

Nigel on August 14, 2006 at 12:39 pm

To be perfectly honest you just seem to a be a racist. Pretty much in the same vein as all the anti-semitic morons you harp on about all the time.
Can you really imagine Dr Bashir coming to blow you up or do you want us to hate him just because he is muslim??
Your blog makes you seem a very cruel and spiteful person or is that excused due to the fact you’re talking about a arab guy?

Adam on June 7, 2007 at 7:24 pm

Debbie,
I’m just curious as to where you found this information on Siddig and his so called terrorist relations??????….
The information you so kindly stated is all incorrect I am sorry to say!!!….Yes AlSadig Almahdi is Sid?s uncle, and yes he was a previous Sudanese Prime Minister but he was not the one who harbored Bin Laden!!!! Furthermore his party is not part of AlQaida or Bin Laden?s terror acts they actually support the war on terrorist.!!!!!
The present Govt Omar Albashir was the man harboring Bin Ladin and supporting his war, he is also the current Sudanese Prime Minister.
I suggest you read on your facts rather than the ridiculous accusations you dumped on Siddig.
It seems that you have an issue with him being Sudanese and a Muslim; therefore I would suggest you say what you want without hiding it behind lies!!!
You are a racist and an ignorant one at that!!! Open your mind and educate yourself!!!

You are completly wrong.. I never heard about this guy before today but after doing a mini search on google.. I found out he is just another English guy who is happend to have a Sudanese . Let me tell you where you went wrong: (1) he has ties to the terror-sponsor government of Sudan.. only through blood.. maybe you will have ties to Irland, does that make you an Irish terrorist??
(2)Muslim torturous slaughter of Sudan’s Black Christians, where did you get this ifno from?? you need to send it to the International Criminal Court (ICC)
(3)Al-Mahdi is president of the Sudan’s Islamist Umma party and Imam of Sudan’s extremist Al-Ansar religious group. These groups made Bin Laden a welcome resident of the Sudan, from which he planned the bombings of the U.S. embassies in East Africa. WRONG AGAIN: the party which welcomed Bin Laden is the Islamic National Front who’s leader is Hassan Al turabi.
(3) the fact that Sid is sleeping with Kim or even the fact that his son was born out of wedlock tells you that is has nothing to do with Islam.. If I were you I would ‘ve sacked you.. coz you are a lazy dump ass.
enjoy 😉

Often times, bios can be edited by anyone, Sid maybe not have even put his uncle in the bio (I don’t know about that). For instance, you can go add entries on IMDB. Also Sid completely denounces all terrorist actions, he had family in NYC during 9-11. Sounds like you need to do some fact checking before you post next time. Besides, we all have crazy people in our family if we look hard enough.

Meghan on August 2, 2010 at 10:10 pm

Hah, this woman Debbie Schlussel is a conservative and the ilk of Sarah Palin …. her bio on this site clearly states so (“DEBBIE SCHLUSSEL: Conservative political commentator, radio talk show host, columnist, and attorney. Schlussel’s unique expertise on radical Islam/Islamic terrorism and a host of other issues make her a popular speaker and television and radio news talk show guest, both nationally & internationally.”)

There is no surprise of elements when someone like her bend the truth for her convenience. According to Wiki she’s also a lawyer. I can’t believe she puts out this racist BS out here for the public to see. But this is the sad truth of the present-day US. Conservatives have so much power as to go about freely mouthing racist rants.

I love Wikipedia for this. Check this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debbie_Schlussel). Her track records below for all of you to behold:

* The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee criticized her work in its 2002 Hate Crime report, citing Schlussel’s criticism of Darrell Issa after he met with Hezbollah in Syria.[13]
* During and following the captivity of American journalist Jill Carroll, Schlussel attacked Carroll, alleging that Carroll hated Israel and America, and implying that she sympathized with her captors.[14][15] When objection was raised,[16] she attacked her critics as well, deriding them as “blind worshippers of Jill Carroll” in need of “LASIK.” [17]
* Schlussel’s claim that WNBA player Anna DeForge is a bad role model because she is a lesbian drew criticism from player Kayte Christensen in an Arizona Republic column.[18]
* Schlussel has been cited by liberal media watchdog Media Matters for spreading misinformation.[19] Schlussel has responded by calling Media Matters “far-left”.[20]

I can’t even begin to imagine what Sid must have felt when he saw this post. I abhor this type of person who put out lies and misinforms the public and who is just set out to destroy someone’s hard-earned career. I hope my comment will go through so people can check who’s talking this shit and for what purposes.

evie74 on August 22, 2010 at 11:52 pm

I can tell you how Sid felt when he saw this retarded, slanderous “article.”

He probably laughed his ass off.

tpn on December 17, 2010 at 12:32 am

Biggest rubbish I’ve ever seen. Not that I exactly know about Sidding’s political or religious views, but I guess that someone who has had a role for seven years in an american franchise which constantly deals with philosophical questions is not what can be called an enemy- especially if he didn’t do anything and sleeps with a blonde american actress. What you tried to write about.
Actually, I thought it was hilarious when I read that Sidding and Cattrall slept with each other, because it would mean that two of my favourite actors, of two of my favourite shows (SATC &DS9) would have some kind of connection.
Anyway, I’m surprised how much dung can be in one simple article. Perhaps you should change your job, Miss Debbie. As far as I saw it, your research is bad. Also, I agree on the former statement, that I think you’re at least a bit of a rassist.
Have a nice day.
