Quick Questions on Saudis, OPEC & Oil Prices

By
Remember–not too long ago–when gas was topping $3 per gallon? Remember how our “allies” in the War on Terror, the Saudis–and our other OPEC buds–told us how they couldn’t possibly change the price? Remember how they told us that even if they boosted production and supply that the Chinese are now such great consumers of gas, that it would never bring the price down?
We remember all of these things, all of these excuses, which is why we ask this logical question:
So, now that gas is hovering just over $2 per gallon, why do our “friends” the Saudis and our other OPEC nation buds suddenly think they can cut production and boost the price so quickly? Didn’t they tell us they couldn’t possibly affect the prices? Were they lying to us, then? Probably.
And is this the new logic of “What goes down must come up, but what goes up [in their bank accounts] must never come down”? Sure sounds like it.
Just asking.

****
In case you were wondering the OPEC member nations–some of which are supposed to be our “allies” (but all of whom act like our pushers)–are: Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

I agree with G. Gordon Liddy, the Saudis are not our friends or allies. And that goes for all the others, too.
AMEN.

Recent discoveries of oil (not really, we knew about the oil a long time ago) in the Gulf of Mexico, and upcoming development of oil resources in Wyoming and Utah will soon make this problem go away. BTW, oil regenerates naturally. The world will never run out.

The Arabs are no friends of the America people.
And the Arabs who control the oil industry are friends of the consecutive U.S. governments and especially this one because the Bush and the Saudi families have one blood: Oil!
Really, they were such revealing photos, Bush holding hands with the Saudi king/prince, and the former Saudi ambassador making himself at home, IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!
Remember?

Independent Conservative, why would the Saudis love Bush if he has oil? Wouldn’t Bush be in competition?
I’d imagine Bush is cozying up to the Saudi head poobah because we are (unfortunately) so dependent on their oil, not because Bush supposedly has common business interests necessarily.
Whatever it takes we just positively have to find alternative means of energy vs. dependence on the Middle East kooks. We need a JFK like “man on the moon” project ASAP.

The_Man, if Bush was a strong leader, he would’ve done the following from the minute he got elected in 2000:
1 – He should have started drilling in America, despite the cry and whining of few hundred or thousand people. What a coward! He’s afraid of one or two groups of people and is not looking for the interest of 300 millions!! If he had the guts to do it, the American people would’ve supported him. But we don’t have a leader in this country. Bush is a fraud.
2 – Bush would’ve have gradually stopped our dependence on the terrorists’ oil, including Venezuela by encouraging, funding, early in his presidency, other sources of energy. But he waited what.. 4-5 years?? And he is still buttkissing the terrorists!!
Bush and the Republicans are in power for many years now, what did they accomplish regarding our dependence on the terrorists’s oil? You know the answer.
Republicans, Democrats: Same crap!
We don’t have a leader in this country. I’m sad to say it but it’s the truth.
