Arizona Immigration Law Ruling: I Predicted This, Last Week, But Real Test is at Supreme Court

By Debbie Schlussel

Every Friday, I’m on the nationally syndicated Jim Sumpter Show at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.  Last Friday, Jim asked me to predict the results of two legal cases–the Arizona v. Eric Holder/Obama immigration law case and the Rod Blagojevich criminal trial.

judgesusanboltonillegalaliens.jpg

Judge Susan Bolton Ruled for Illegal Alien Criminals and Invaders

I predicted that the federal judge in Arizona would rule that the Arizona immigration law is unconstitutional because judges are very political and tend to be liberal, as this one is.  I said that she’d likely see the law as racist and discriminatory and said against Arizona.  Sadly, I was right.  But it’s sooooo very predictable.  We’ve lost our country and our borders.

And even though at the time I made my comments I didn’t know that Judge Susan Bolton–the federal judge who issued the ruling, today, against Arizona’s immigration law–was a Clinton appointee, I knew.  I knew this would happen because these very comfortable federal judges making $200,000 a year in salary and benefits and having all the security and safety in the world have no worries like we do.  They have their jobs for life.  Federal judges don’t get fired.  They have to be impeached, which almost never happens.  No illegal alien will take their jobs.  No illegal alien will lower their wages.  No illegal alien will invade the federal building and take them hostage.  It just won’t happen.  They’re protected in every way from illegal aliens, so they have no idea.  No clue.

But the real contest is at the Supreme Court level.  Arizona will appeal this to the U.S. Court of Appeals. Whoever loses there will appeal it to the Supreme Court, and that’s where the real test happens.  Stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, in case you were wondering, I also predicted that Rod Blagojevich would be convicted by the jury in his case.  I bet I’m two for two on this.  Sad I was not wrong in the first case, though.  I wanted Arizona’s law to go into effect.  But even if she had held for Arizona, Obama and Holder would have appealed.  Like I said, see ya at the Supreme Court, amigos.

It seems that illegal aliens can do what they wish with impunity now. Our government seems to have more concern for such people than they do for citizens and legal residents.

“Bolton also halted provisions requiring immigrants to carry their papers at all times.” In other words, she has now declared a federal requirement, in effect since the 1940’s, illegal.

But don’t hold your breath for any help at the USSC. There are only 4 conservative voices on the court.

BoKnows on July 28, 2010 at 6:38 pm

Liberal NIMBYs like Bolton are the ones who don’t have to worry about illegal aliens invading their property. They can afford to have armed guards patrolling THEIR properties and live in gated communities

Rocky Lore on July 28, 2010 at 6:44 pm

It goes even beyond that Rocky and Deb! These elites in their gated communities can hire FULLY BILINGUAL STAFF to answer the phones at the courthouse; meanwhile he can’t speak enough Spanish to order a meal. I am sick of looking through adds that say BILINGUAL PREFERRED/REQUIRED. I WILL NEVER BE AS BILINGUAL AS SOMEONE WITH A SPANISH SURNAME!
You nailed it– your lawyer and your ear nose and throat specialist aren’t the ones being displaced by mass immigration. It is the poor and middle class paying the price for the arrogant elitists.

melati on July 28, 2010 at 10:34 pm

You know the drill: For English, press 1, for Spanish, press 2.

Rocky Lore on July 29, 2010 at 12:19 pm

U mean “press 1 for Spanish Press 2 for English “

Not surprising, but very disappointing. Our country is slowly turing into chaos. The liberals and their PC friends are carrying out philosophies that are inconsistent with a successful country. We are degenerating into financial chaos, political chaos, social chaos, moral chaos, and any positive ideals that may have been carried forward from the Enlightenment have been overtaken by the negative traditions of the last few centuries and brands of totalitarian and fascism that have their origins in other parts of the world, such as Islam. Sad to see, but it’s one defeat after another, and unless capable conservative political leadership develops very very rapidly, we will be well past the tipping point. Slouching into chaos.

I think Rhode Island has the same law on the books and for years.

Then, what?

Since she was appointed by Slick Willy, do you think she had to put on the Presidential knee-pads before her appointment?

I guess when these liberal idiots, buffons and appeasers start getting murdered, kidnapped and killed, like our innocent citizens in some parts of our nation, will these asswipes take the crumbling of our country, by outside enemies, seriously. I served in the military and we swore to defend our nation “from all enemies foreign and domestic”. Illegal immigration is an invasion by foreign enemies. It’s also time we start impeaching these career politicians and liberal judges (both domestic enemies)who are more interested in keeping their cozy lifestyles and pushing their liberal, “we are the world” ideology agenda on the rest of us. They should be defending the rights of our people not repressing them. These socialists/liberals/commies/spineless appeasers are setting the foundation, laying the ground, for a revolution in America. An armed struggle is what they may be trying to start. However, they better hope that they get it right, ’cause the gunsights will surely be aimed at quite a few of them. God help our country.

Does this change any pre-1070 stops, such as Arpaio’s raids or other arrests? It seems the judge has said local or state officers can’t be required to discern immigration status but departments could allow it like Sheriff Arpaio has been doing.

To me it seems like the half empty or half full argument. She may have stopped a requirement but does allow officers to check immigration status upon arrest. She put an injunction only on 1070 not on prior 287g powers.

I think Sheriff Arpaio will extend his powers to the limits that are legal.

“No illegal alien will take their jobs. No illegal alien will lower their wages. No illegal alien will invade the federal building and take them hostage. It just won’t happen. They’re protected in every way from illegal aliens, so they have no idea. No clue.”

There are ways to make judges more accountable for their actions. Especially when they obstruct the passing of laws that seek to preserve public safety.

This is what should be done to help give them a clue:
Relocate the captured illegal immigrant tresspassors. Put them on a bus and give them each a “Thank You” note addressed to judge Bolton. Then transport, and release them (at night) in front of her house so they can thank her and her neighbors. When 911 calls are made from that area, foward them to Washington D.C. Do this until the case reaches the Suprem Court. It will put a new meaning to the term “Not in my back yard”.

Bill on July 28, 2010 at 9:07 pm

CaliforniaScreaming:

It shouldn’t affect Arpaio in theory, but in practice it will make it much harder for him to operate and embolden his opponents, who now have a federal judge ruling to claim that local law enforcement shouldn’t be involved in immigration issues.

Gerald on July 28, 2010 at 9:17 pm

My prediction: this ruling will be upheld by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision with Anthony Kennedy dealing the conservative movement in this country the biggest blow since Roe v. Wade. (Or at least since Lawrence versus Texas.) My thinking is that Kennedy, who has been bringing “international law” into his rulings for years now, has an agenda. I will allow you folks to consider for yourselves what – and whose – agenda that might be.

Gerald on July 28, 2010 at 9:20 pm

“We have lost our country and our borders”. So true and so very sad. Americans did NOT relish and appreciate the great opportunities we blew sky-high.

Skunky on July 28, 2010 at 9:55 pm

I’m sick of the 5-4 b.s., but even more sick of how our votes no longer count since we have to wait for all the meaningful laws passed to be ratified by the SCOTUS.

No wonder liberals are in love with the federal judiciary; it’s tthe easiest branch for the ruling party to take over.

JOE VERSUS OBAMA

Arpaio still planning illegal immigration sweep July 29

“This is not going to interfere with how we operate,” Arpaio said.

ARIZONA VERSUS OBAMA

Sen. Pearce said the immigration law still allows police to ask about residency status, but instead of charging under the state law, police will have to turn suspects over to ICE.

Pearce said it was encouraging that Bolton left in the provision that prohibits local governments from limiting or restricting the enforcement of federal immigration laws. He accused Mesa, Chandler and Phoenix of being among cities in Arizona with sanctuary policies.

“We will sue them,” he said.

Pearce also believes the state will win the legal battle if it reaches the U.S. Supreme Court.

“We wrote this for this battle,” Pearce said.

KING HUSSEIN OBAMA will see a huge majority against the court ruling. The court’s injunction will only allow other states to fine tune such measures and force more battles with this alleged president. HUSSEIN OBAMA’s polling numbers will go down because people will see he is responsible for the patrolling the border. He along with Bush Jr, Clinton, Bush Sr all have not done their jobs.

CaliforniaScreaming on July 28, 2010 at 11:08 pm

Debbie, I think it’s high time we had a protest against this judge, and make it a nationwide Rally in support of 1070 while we are at it, just like we did with the Tea Party rallies last year?? ANYONE WITH ME!

When white kids won’t get summr jobs, when they will have to learn Spanish ust to apply for a job, which will go to a Hispanic illegal immigrant, Americans cn send a ‘Thank you’ card to the following:

– Bill Clinton.
– George Bush.
– Barak Obama.
– Susan Bolton.
– Teddy Kennedy.
– John McCain.
– your senator, congressman, city-council…

Well, it’s time for a little NAME EM AND SHAME EM! Send your vitriol against this globalist pandering “Judge” to…

HONORABLE SUSAN R. BOLTON
United States District Court
Sandra Day O’Connor U.S. Courthouse, Suite 522
401 West Washington Street, SPC 50
Phoenix, AZ 85003-2153
Phone: (602) 322-7570

And now that war has been declared by the global banker elites in the form of politicians and judges with their ties to Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, JP Morgan and the mega uber bankers like Rothschild of whom one Meyer Rothschild said in 1912…

“Let me control a peoples currency and I care not who makes their laws.”

By the by, the following year, the USA subscribed to the ‘services’ of the newly incorporated Federal Reserve, headed by Mr. Rothschild from the meeting in Jekyll Island, GA (I want to find the book The Creature from Jekyll Island by G Edward Griffin)

And the Rockefellers of whom David Rockefeller said…

“We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order.”

…I bring you a quote from Thomas Jefferson…

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

What is that saying, You might have to kill one to save a hundred? That is what it will take. Once a high ranking official, like a judge or a politician or even some big name no-talent actor, gets killed by some illegals or by some extremist religious group, then the laws will change.

Question Debbie. Does Arizona have a constitutional right to utilize a state militia (not the National Guard) to safeguard its’ borders?

Jerry on July 29, 2010 at 9:35 am

You know what, I think Arizona can take this case to the US Supreme Court, afterall folks, the Supreme Court in this country is a conservative majority (5-4). This Susan Bolton thing should be impeached right away after what she did 24 hours ago to the people of Arizona and to the rest of us across this country, and you folks gotta look at it this way, the ACLU also had their handwritings all over this along with the Obama regime/gang, quite frankly, the Eric Holder and Barack Obama should both be in jail right now for embetting and aiding illegal aliens who are “foreign enemies” as one poster on this site wrote! Far as the ACLU is concerned, if we had a legitimate government in this country, the ACLU would be investigated under RICO law, they would be put out of business, their assets would be seized and put up on auctions, and they also would be in jail for what damage their doing to my beautiful country! Also, the law will go into affect today across Arizona, it’s not like this Bolton cockroach demanded that the entire should be thrown out, she only purged a few percentage of the law.

And one more thing before I finish, if the illegal-aliens want to stay in this country, I think they should serve in the US military, go into combat in either Iraq or Afghanistan, stay there for a year and they’ll become US citizens and also they’ll have to pay taxes, remember, illegal-aliens DON’T pay taxes at all. Boy do we need a “conservative movement” to emerge in this country, and this movement has to be very patriotic, vigorus with a great leader, we need more than just the Tea Party movement in this country (notice how the Tea Party movements have said very little about immigration, it’s becuase the GOP are trying to co-opt the movement)!

“A nation is identified by it’s border, language & culture!”

Sean R. on July 29, 2010 at 10:32 am

The entire SB 1070 has been an orchestrated effort ot garne free publicity for both political parties. There is no one except the people that wants this issue resolved. Everyone will get all the “play” out of this until after the November election and we will get some watered down version of this bill so that no one is unhappy except the people of Arizona. I have lived in Arizona for 50 years and I give you my word that there is no real and true effort to do something about illegal immigration in Arizona.

AZ should now sue DOJ for the loss of commerce due to premature posturing from other states.

Yes, i Patrick Henry, am spinning in my grave. As are the other founding fathers. Can you believe that the day has come where a sitting president sides against a state and it’s people, taking the side of another country and it’s illegal vermin that sneak across the border? Sad times indeed. Revolution, anyone?

patrick henry on July 29, 2010 at 6:15 pm

Just like the police shooting case in CA a couple of weeks ago, protesters were bused in to Phoenix for preplanned rioting. They still rioted even when they got the court ruling they wanted. Criminals and idiots and they should all go to Sheriff Joe’s Tent City Jail.

As I’ve said before, Debbie, the reason that I don’t support the death penalty in practice (I do in theory) is because I have worked with Judges for 21 years now, and the vast majority of them I would NOT trust to scoop my cat’s litterbox, much less do anything important. I mean, LOOK at the pathetic academic record of the former Dean of Harvard Law School.

You are a blindingly brilliant exception and credit to your profession and country.
