SCUM: US Co-Op Boycotts Israel; Pressure on Other Store to Dump Israeli Prods
In 2007, I told you about an Ann Arbor, Michigan co-op’s vote on whether to boycott Israeli products. Fortunately, the vote was against boycotting the Jewish State. But the victory is that there was even a vote on this at all. Even worse, now, an Olympia, Washington co-op voted to boycott Israel, and has removed Israeli products from its shelves. The head of the co-op is flaunting his Judaism (and self-hatred) as an excuse for this anti-Semitic act, reminiscent of Nazi laws boycotting Jewish stores and products. Meanwhile, another store is being pressured to drop Israel’s Ahava line of beauty products. More on that later. But, first, more on the Judenrein co-op.
That Was Then . . .
This Is Now . . .
During the Holocaust, there were kapos who helped turn Jews into the Nazis. And now there is Harry Levine of the Olympia Food Co-Op, which appears to be illegal as it violates federal law against the Arab boycott of Israel, according to Divestment Watch president, Fred Taub.
Olympia Food Co-op members will get another chance next month to discuss a controversial board decision to boycott Israeli products at its two stores.
Nine of the co-op board’s 10 members voted Thursday to participate in the international boycott. Harry Levine, a staff representative to the board, said . . . he supports it.
“My personal view is that boycotts can be effective tools in changing governments,” he said. “I personally support it, and I’m an American Jew.”
The board voted to boycott Israeli products as a way to “compel Israel to follow international law and respect Palestinian human rights,” according to a statement the board released. The boycott announcement has been posted on the co-op’s website, www.olympiafood.coop, as well as at its two stores.
Israeli products removed from the stores include gluten-free crackers, ice cream cones and a moisturizing cream, Levine said. . .
Rabbi Seth Goldstein of Olympia, whose wife, Rabbi Yohanna Kinberg, contacted the paper by e-mail, won’t shop at the co-op as result of the board’s decision, and the couple are considering “resigning” as co-op members. They had shopped at the store for about eight years, he said.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
A meeting to discuss the Olympia Food Co-op’s participation in a boycott of Israeli products is set for 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at The Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St. N.W., board member Harry Levine said Tuesday.
To comment on participation in the boycott, send an e-mail to board@olympiafood.coop or call 360-357-1106, ext. 12.
I urge my readers to e-mail and call the co-op and tell them what you think of their Nazi-like tactics. (Thanks to readers Aron and John for the tip.)
Then, there is Ricky’s. There is an effort by anti-Semites and Israel-haters (redundant) to get the 23-store chain to dump Israel’s AHAVA line of products. Although I normally loath the left-wing Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), the JCRC-NY has this info and a petition on the matter. Check it out and sign if you think it will help.

This is what I sent them..I used the customerservice@olympiafood.coop email.
Its so good to know who the terrorist supporters are in the community. Also helps to know who the nazi supporters are in the community. Your boycott of Israeli products is of course just a statement of your views, and will not financially affect Israel, however, one can hope that it will financially impact you to the point you have to disappear.
