Bangladesh Hellhole: Moderate Muslim Prosecuted 4 Supporting Peace w/ Israel

By
Our friend, inimitable Jerusalem Post investigative reporter Michael Freund, has a piece in the paper about Bangladesh’s continued persecution of rare moderate Muslim Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, a courageous Muslim newspaper editor with incredible principle.
Choudhury’s crime is advocating ties with Israel and peace with the Jewish people. More from Michael’s article:

A Bangladeshi Muslim journalist arrested in the past for advocating ties with Israel now faces charges of sedition, a crime punishable by death in Bangladesh, and will likely be put on trial by the end of the month, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: Courageous Muslim Under Repeated Attack

In a court session on Tuesday in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, a state-appointed judge ruled that the government’s case against Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury could proceed to trial and that the hearings would commence within 15 days.
As editor of The Weekly Blitz, an English-language newspaper published in Dhaka, Choudhury aroused the ire of Bangladeshi authorities after he printed articles favorable to Israel and critical of Muslim extremism.
Bangladesh does not recognize Israel’s existence and refuses to establish diplomatic relations with the Jewish state.
In November 2003, Choudhury was arrested at Dhaka’s international airport just prior to boarding a flight on his way to Israel, where he was scheduled to deliver an address on promoting understanding between Muslims and Jews. His visit to Israel would have been the first by a Bangladeshi journalist.
Choudhury was charged with sedition, held in prison for 17 months and was reportedly tortured before being freed in April 2005. But the authorities in Bangladesh, which is ruled by a coalition government that includes Islamic extremists, decided to continue pursuing charges against him. . . .
In a May 20, 2005 opinion piece published in the Post, Choudhury wrote: “As a journalist, I counteracted the biased ‘news’ that promoted hatred of Israel and Jews, condemned terrorism, promoted the free exchange of ideas and urged Bangladesh to recognize Israel.”
Describing the moments immediately before his 2003 arrest, he wrote: “Though physically still in Dhaka, my heart ached to kiss Israel’s holy soil.”

Hmmm . . . Sound like a “Religion of Peace” to you? This guy, Choudhury, is a Muslim hero. But predictably, the fake “moderate” Muslims in the U.S. are completely silent about Choudhury’s plight because they aren’t, in fact, moderate at all and support this extremism.

Islam is a cancer. Freedom is the cure. The American people must wake up to the truth about the Muslim Borg.

What on Earth has Israel ever done to that God forsaken country called”Bangladesh”? I mean Bengal Nation has diplomtaic relations with Pakistan which murdered tens of thousands of Bengalis in 1970-71 while raping tghousands of Bengali women (by the way that was an example of Muslims persecuting other Muslims).

Of the banter, this seems to ring true.
Islam is trapped by this extremism. To rescue this religion, congregations will have to reject and eject imams that keep the lid on criticism. I have not heard of single case of that happening. Anywhere.
The horse is out of the barn. The signs being displayed by Islam which are brutal, blunt and to the point have been read, and understood. The occasional decapitation in places like Iraq and Afghanistan tend to lend these messages an aura of sincerity. I get it already. Many of us do. We’re gobsmacked wondering what part of the message on those signs our lefties don’t understand.
The moderates had better act, and act fast, because the extremists have just about won a complete public relations victory.

Shaken, I agree, and it will be a challenge as the Persian Shia have Russia, Pakistan, China and about 16 ME nations on side this time. = TG

There is a cultural event going on here that many people in the US don’t understand. The “Habibs” understand what war is and the protected masses in the US do not. The purpose of war is to impress, astound and so terrify the enemy with your willingness to do terrible things to those who defy you, that you get the behavior that you want. That means that you MUST prove yourself to be meaner and eviler and more willing to do really ugly things to more people than they are. Temujin, Mao, Stalin and the US in WWII had it down. Blood and slaughter is the KEY. If we ever have the guts to redemonstrate what an atomic wasteland looks like, perhaps where Tehran used to be, they might get the idea.

You are correct Ralph. The Allies won WW2 by distroying most infrastructure and slaughtering millions of civilians. Unfortunately that is the nature of war in modern times. And if we don’t do it to them, they will surely do it to us.

As Debbie says here,
“But predictably, the fake “moderate” Muslims in the U.S. are completely silent about Choudhury’s plight because they aren’t, in fact, moderate at all and support this extremism.”
This point needs to be pressed to the hilt with THOSE WHOM IT APPLIES. Either we get the “moderates'”public repudiation of the Jihadists tactics here alongwith support for moderation and (dare I imagine???) co-existence between Israel/Jews and the neighboring nations/Muslims or we move to isolate the cancer of extremist Islam.
When W said, “either you are on the side of freedom or the side of the terrorists..” we need do more than say it–we need to apply the obvious–there is no neutrality–silence from “moderates” is complicity and should be treated as the treason it is in reality.
I know what Tonto is saying about being appalled by carnage that forces change so there will be less carnage–but WE need to be even more appalled at those who give sanction to the terrorist/murderers and who masquerade as our friends and legitimate citizens of our conuntry (and all civilized countries).
