Bride of Phil: Annoying Dr. Phil’s Wife, Mrs. Phil, Joins Psychobabble-onia

By
He’s fat, but gives diet advice. He cheated on his first wife, but chastises all other cheaters (besides him) on his silly daytime talk show. The annoying Dr. Phil is bad enough.
Unfortunately, now, Bride of Phil a/k/a Mrs. Phil a/k/a Robin McGraw is dishing out advice. And what are her qualifications for this? Well, she’s married to Dr. Phil. And that’s about it.
Today’s USA Today Life section has a half-page ad for Mrs. Phil’s new book, “Inside My Heart.” Are you really interested in what is inside Mrs. Phil’s heart? Tough. The ad tells you anyway, featuring this pyschobabblish quote:

Please Go Away: Dr. Phil & Mrs. Phil

I am on a mission to get you excited about your life, excited about being a woman in this day and time [DS: Translation, guys this book ain’t for you–even the ones who actually watch Dr. Phil or Oprah.] My goal is to help you see your life as I see mine: a vast array of choices that can bring you closer to the person you long to be. Your life is waiting for you to claim it. It’s all in the choosing.

Puh-leeze. This woman lucked out and married a guy who lucked out by meeting Oprah. Not exactly advice the common woman can emulate.
Taking bets on how many weeks ’til it’s in the dollar bargain bin at Barnes & Noble.

If I married a multi-millionaire I would have a vast array of choices, too. I don’t care at all for Dr. Phil, but at least he can claim he earned his money (as much as phonies like he and Oprah earn money).
I’ll just never understand the popularity of HOprah, Dr. Phil, and HOprah’s new pet Rachael Ray.

the doctor a fraud wrote would write a diet book and he as fat as artie lange. she should have a book, LOOK AT MY PLASTIC BOTOX FACE,without opfah he be just another college professor banging his students

PNAMARBLE on September 14, 2006 at 7:53 pm

Here’s what gets me about Gro-prah and Dr. Full-of-himself and their ‘diet’ books. Two very wealthy people with access to things the average person will never touch. They will have their own gym in their home. They will hire the best personal trainers who will drag their fat butts out of bed and put them through a workout in that fancy gym. They will hire a nutritionist to make all their meals and see that they eat perfectly. When all is said and done, they will hire a ghost writer to pen the book that tells how ‘they’ did it even though they have ‘done’ nothing! And on top of that, they still look like crap!
Most people who work out, do not have millions to spend on all this stuff, yet they get better results.
Toss the Docs wife onto that trash heap of advice givers that know nothing. I wonder if she even met the writer of her book. Or if she’s even read it.

Can I leave comment with no name or e-mail address? My name and e-mail address is none of anyone’s business and has nothing to do with my comment. Why do you even ask for it? Yep just as I thought! Can’t leave a freaking comment without my personal info. In this day and age, surprising you still require it when someone just wants to leave a comment. Sure no one will read this!!! What a waste of time!

I think they would have been successful even if they’d not met Oprah, that is just the kind of people they are. I thought both of her books were very good. She gives some good advice. I don’t always agree with him, but he has some good concepts and a good heart. Green eyed monster here maybe?.
Take what you can use toss the rest.

Wow, All true. I’ve always thought that the people who follow these tv personalities and their advice are only sheep- following blindly with no proof to support. It started with Oprah’s book club. How pathetic is it that each book she suggests immediately goes on the best seller list. Sheesh. Now, have you taken a look at Mrs. Phil’s face lately!!!???? Wow. The next Catwoman. Cut back on the botox and facelifts lady, actually, it’s too late now. Pathetic people cling to these celebrities for advice on how to run their lives when the celebrities can’t even run their own lives.

Robin McGraw is annoying to me also. She wants to have her 15 minutes of fame. Dr. Phil has gotten old too. Let them both disappear from the air waves.

Wow watched Dr. Phil today episode called I Did Not Try to Blind My Wife. Which after today’s episode it may be last episode. The last few weeks I’ve been getting annoyed with him trying to push his wife’s new program or whatever it is called Aspire Initiative & it just gets annoying. About like how for ever he talked about his newest book. Well today’s episode went way to far. At about 30min. Into show after commercial break comes back it shows couple of show tapes he reaches in his left pocket. Then he starts giving dude advice then he talking about his wife’s new Aspire Initiative & how people do such & such. Well Camera man is probably fired now!! They panned to Robyn & she’s talking what looks like to herself which I thought wow Dr. Phil’s wife’s crazy & talks to herself! Then I noticed him faith his left eye and then his head turned & I saw it. He had ear piece in & was getting info from his wife. This explains why she was yapping to herself. I rewinded it and the microphone is right on top her dress. That did it for me. This show went overboard pushing her on me. Now she giving advice to people. People who don’t believe watch the episode I’m talking about & you will see her 1st talking to herself then he twitches his left eye. Guess that supposed to be her Qu for stop talking shut up I can’t concentrate with you yapping. Heck woman I’m trying like hell to make you famous letting you be seen on every episode leaving with him then he’s pushing her new pet project on all of America. Is that the Good Dr. Phil’s way of giving his wife something to do so she will leave him alone for a while! Here is my advice DR.PHIL No one cares what Robyn thinks or does. Now I officially don’t care what Dr. Phil says anymore.

chuck on December 10, 2013 at 5:21 pm

I thought I was the only one who thought Robin McGraw is annoying and has a need to be famous. It was bad enough that I had to listen to Dr. Phil say every single day that he wrote a book and his son Jay is the publisher. Talk about Nepotism. The problem I have with this new project of domestic violence (well I have a couple)of hers is that she is copying so many other programs out there and trying to take the credit for them. She has no real experience with domestic violence and should leave it up to the experts. I find her lacking credibility and experience in this matter. People do not watch Dr. Phil to hear Robin.

Patty on January 20, 2014 at 7:19 pm

Another gem of a “Dr. Phil Show” today. The full-of-herself Robin was actually using the problems of a downtrodden woman as the means for promoting her own skin care products. Under the guise of helping the woman, Robin gave an endless sales pitch for each of the five products in a studio salon decorated with pictures of herself everywhere. She claims to have formulated the skin care line herself – what exactly are her qualifications? The same qualifications that entitle her to counsel people? Let’s face it Robin’s gleaming white teeth and plastic face are hardly her the result of her own natural beauty.

Holly on April 10, 2014 at 5:06 pm

I was also feeling annoyed by Robin watching the show today. The entire show was created just so she could promote her new line of skin products. She babbled on about how much these products can help your skin and how she created them, funny she never mentioned that these products in conjunction with plastic surgery, botox and God know what other procedures she has had done to her face can make you look good. She is not qualified to give her opinion an anything as far as Im concerned. All Dr Phil does now days is promote himself, his Son’s ,his wife and on occasion his grandchildren.

christy on April 12, 2014 at 3:34 am

It seems as though someone on the Dr. Phil show said once that Robin worked as ” an engineer” at some point .? It seems that no evidence is found that she has a college degree. Also, I thought I heard her say on several occasions that she has stated that she has a proprietary ingredient ( Edelweiss flower) in her new skin care line but there are several cosmetics and skin care products on the internet that advertise that their product contains this flower.? Also, Dr. Phil’s shows are becoming embarrassing to watch as they are starting to sound like infomercials for Robin’s products. I feel a little uncomfortable about her ” wanting to help abused women” when Sara Morrison claims she was abused by Dr.Phil and Robin “stood by her man.” Phil and Robin don’t seem honest to me.

faith on April 14, 2014 at 9:16 pm

Well, folks, today was the absolute worst of the Robin McGraw show. Unbelievable. She restored 3 or 4 downtrodden women with her new brand of makeup–which even cures acne. Now they are all pretty enough to go find that man! The first 20 minutes of the show featured a woman badly in need of Robin’s so-called expertise and the beauty products that would give her the self-esteem to dump the looser she brought to the show. This is getting unbearable. There is no longer any pretense about the purpose of the show. Robin’s makeup (named after the granddaughter) bestows the self-esteem all women are lacking!

Denise on April 21, 2014 at 5:20 pm

I was shocked at the way Robin is peddling her skin care line specifically to women who are affected by physical abuse! It’s not just the one show either, I just watched an episode of the Dr’s and here she is again. There are these women at home who are abused and have little to no self esteem who are going to dig in their pockets & buy her face junk because they see how “happy” these woman are on TV. Shame on her.

rosalie on May 1, 2014 at 8:33 pm

Oh, wait, Robin is the “trophy wife” of Dr. Phil, who has no credentials on giving advice, and her comment about him was
“I love listening to him, I just think he is brilliant.” Oh my gosh, can she be anymore annoying…he is not brilliant, and lately the shows have become “trash tv.” I never really watched because he annoyed me, and when he the last straw was when he gave advice to a woman who gave up her career and education to help her husband advance his career and she stayed at home with the kids, with promises of a secure life…now that husband divorces her and quits his job so she gets nothing in alimony…the woman gave him 30 years and she is lost with no work skills, money or security…dr. phil’s advice was “get a job.” No empathy, no care, nothing….just “get a job.” What a jerk! He helps drug users, alcoholics and abusers with free therapy at posh resorts, why couldn’t he help her with school or vocational training? Because he wants to help those who don’t deserve help and not give help to those who really do deserve it. What a jerk!

As far as Robin’s skin care line goes…does it include botox and plastic surgery and all the professional makeup artists that she uses. Fake Fake Fake!

And quit peddling your son’s publishing company for the books you promote on your show!

Lucy on August 8, 2014 at 8:54 am

He has the GALL to give advice when he’s obviously the most
“Whipped” man on the planet. His wife is the ultimate fame whore, with her own camera, own up-front seat, own mic no doubt attached 24/7, always ready to jump in and give her 2 cents. Wonder whose idea it is to have her photos all over the show, walking in with him, and walking out with him. One guess only per person please! Her face has had so much work it no longer moves! She is over-the-top irritating!

Portobellogal on July 13, 2015 at 6:52 pm

Sooo tired of Robin and her fake face ..nobody looks like that at her age without plastic surgery, fillers and botox. Plus, when a woman has a nanny, Chef, personal trainer, maid and stylist, it’s easy to have time to take care of herself.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks she’s a fame whore. Jealous of her husbands fame, she has to horn in on his show daily and over the years has become more and more involved in it, without any credentials. But it’s just proof of all the ignorant, simple minded people that follow celebrities lives, because they have no life themselves.

But let’s face it, if people watched Honey boo boo, the Kardasians and housewives of where ever..it really isn’t surprising they would listen to anything Robin had to say.
Educated people can see between him pushing his book , his son publishing company and her cosmetics the show is all about nepotism.

Sam Toreki on October 9, 2015 at 6:27 pm

Robin needs to step back from the show.

Marie Galby on July 6, 2016 at 4:53 am

Umm, to all those bellyaching, don’t you know how to change the channel or shut the TV off? Problem solved.

Wendy on September 29, 2016 at 6:05 pm

The little wife dutifully sits in the audience in every show sporting her expensive jewelry and clothing, and then walks hand in hand out with him at the end of the show …WHY? What other talk show host has their wife or husband doing the same?

Phil tells the tv audience “everyone loves Robin”….really? Who are you referring to, the kiss up friends and family? What is there to like about her?

He is not only pushing his “Dr on demand” business, but now the “miracle” cream that supposedly will cure all your wrinkles. He pushes her AS IF she has used this cream and this is why her skin is so smooth and shows no sign of aging. Does he really think we are stupid???!!! That woman has had more plastic surgery and “touching up” to keep her skin the way it is.

The man is hideous – I used to like watching his show but now it is becoming so annoying to watch him incorporate promoting his sons/wife’s products/services.

Hey he has made his millions…get going your over with.

Claudia on December 13, 2016 at 3:23 pm

I have always looked forward to his shows but I feel that his show is becoming a full blown infomercial. Between sons book publishing and Dr on Demand and wife’s books and Foundations and now her skincare line. Now he sends everyone to the same Drs for help and promotes the same neurological centers etc. It’s just too much.
Think I can find better things to do with my time.

B J on December 21, 2016 at 5:21 pm

My wife got me started watching Dr. Phil and I became impressed with his common sense approach to life and its problems. Now it has become nothing more than an intro-ad for everything his wife does. She supposedly “writes”, gives her opinions without having any official training, and sells makeup she does not need, due to plastic surgery and the best dermatologists her husband can buy. I’m sickened by the way she is slid into every program until the entire setup feels oily and degrading.

joe on February 25, 2017 at 6:55 pm

Every show robin just can’t wait to make a comment about the show to dr. Phil. He acts like he wishes she would be quiet and give him a minute to decompress. Happens every time. Annoying.

Jenny on April 25, 2017 at 7:26 pm

I want you to see your life as I see mine, a vast array of choices. That sort of shit from really rich people pisses me off no end. All the money in the world of course you have plenty of choices. She needs to sit down and shut up. She annoys the crap out of me.

Debbie on August 16, 2017 at 7:46 pm

I too am tired of Dr. Phil plugging his wife’s products, his son’s publishing companies, his books, his Dr on demand, etc. I tune in everyday to watch him help people with serious issues. If I want to watch product endorsements and promotions, I will tune into HSN or QVC.

J: If you’re tuning in to watch him “help” anyone, you’re watching the wrong show. His show’s only purpose is for him to grandstand, pimp his useless family and their “products,” and force mostly-White working-class people to act in a minstrel show, which is what his show basically is. DS

Jerry on September 28, 2017 at 4:21 pm

I think dr. Phil is incredibly talented and has helped multitudes of people. However his wife plugging her products at the end of the show is just plain wrong for a number of reasons. The least being it has nothing todo with the theme of the show. She’s just whoring herself for her own gains

Ron Danshire on December 14, 2017 at 8:28 pm

She is horrible! Does she not have a life? How does the supposed Dr. Phill stand her? For all of his advise and education, I am shocked that he chose someone as needy as her. Fake, teeth, nails, face lifts, and in constant need of attention. She’s awful!
