More on Sgt. Duane Dreasky, RIP: Help Stop Protesters at American Hero’s Funeral

By
As I wrote, a week ago, ( and ), a brave U.S. soldier and Army National Guardsman, passed away–after 8 valiant months fighting to live.
The Michigan-based man was the last of several U.S. military victims of a terrorist IED targeted at the HumVee in which they were riding. Despite horrible burns over 75% of his body, he tried to salute President Bush when he visited his hospital room and established a scholarship to help others–even though he was in dire straits himself.
Unfortunately, his funeral may be targeted by the vile, wacko military funeral protesters you’ve been reading about elsewhere. Sgt. Dreasky’s close friend, Brad Gerard, writes and sends this photo taken just days before he was attacked by terrorists:

Sgt. Duane Dreasky, American Hero, RIP

Duane was my friend. Sometimes nicer things are said about someone once they have died, but in this case all of the good things are true. Duane is someone who I am proud to have called a friend. Here is a picture from an email to me just 12 days before his accident. I am sure this is how he would like to be remembered. . . .
There will be a service for Duane Sat. July 22nd 11:00 AM at Walled
Lake Western High School. He is now at O’Brien Funeral Home in Novi with viewing expected for Thursday and Friday. I understand protesters are expected at his service. If Duane were here he would be enraged. I don’t know how to feel.
Brad Gerard

If you live in the Detroit area, please attend this service at Walled Lake Western High School and block/drown out the protesters. While he may have died protecting their right to free speech, their actions are an outrage. More proof that there’s no accounting for good taste in America.

There’s also a conservative Christian group called http://www.godhatesfags.com/main/index.html and they protest and disrupt funerals of American vets. Originally, they protest the funrals of dead homosexuals, like Mathew Shepard but now they’re protesting the war dead because:
http://www.godhatesamerica.com/
1) They will bring more attention to the message, which is: God is killing these soldiers for the sins of America.
2) They will make the Lord their God more furious with this nation, and bring more wrath and punishment on this country.
And you wonder why Christianity is hated? No disprespect for the Christians here as yo are all good people but these people who claim to worship God are more vocal.
So go out there, use the first amendment and drown them out.

That group that you posted KOA are not Christians. They’re a bunch of con artists posing as ultra crazy Christians. They’re main focus is to piss off as many people as possible in the most offensive way in order to incite violence in order sue (the group is made up of a bunch of lawyers) anyone that tries to fight them physically.

You know that, I know that, but try to explain that to someone who don’t know.

I live in the Walled Lake school district. I’ll be there.

You and I might not consider them Christians, but that doesn’t change the fact that they (at least on face value) DO consider themselves Christians and are acting under the guise of their piety. It’s definately unfortunate, since our society for a large part, when exposed to an extremist faction of an organization such as this, will not recognize the fact that they are not reprenstitive of the whole, but instead will group all associated with the group the extremists voice allegance to under the same umbrella and damn them all.
Having said that, more importantly the reason for my post on this thread is to show my respect and honor for Sgt. Dreasky, and his family.
Whether or not one agree’s with the war, or the politics, or the views of the group mentioned above, people need to stop and look at the whole picture not just their little individual causes for a moment and realize this man did what he did because he cared, not just for those closest to him, not just for his buddy down the street or next door. He did what he did because he cared about every single person in the country he was acting to protect and serve. How incredibly selfless, to knowingly and intentionally risk his very life to protect countless people who he’d never even met.
Thank you
