New Islamofascist “Feminist” Trend: Honor Suicide

By
We just love how IslamoFascists adjust to modern technology.
Now, instead of honor-killing their “slutty” female progeny (“slutty” because they dated a non-Muslim or-horror of horrors–a Black guy), Islamic males are ordering the young female fruits of their loin to do it themselves. And the orders come via cellphone, text-message.
It’s that new happening Islamic female teen fashion trend: HONOR SUICIDE. Lovely. Surprisingly, the New York Times (and reporter Dan Bilefsky) detail this pleasant phenomenon. Unfortunately, he blames it on MTV and the Kurds. Yup, it’s all their fault. And you (both Glorias, Steinem and Allred, strangely silent; Martha Burk, too). Too busy attacking women’s real dangers–wealthy golf clubs and provocative NHL ads.
The chilling details:

Photos of 14-Year-Old Daughter Who Committed Honor Suicide

For Derya, a waiflike girl of 17, the order to kill herself came from an uncle and was delivered in a text message to her cellphone. “You have blackened our name,” it read. “Kill yourself and clean our shame or we will kill you first.”
Derya said her crime was to fall for a boy she had met at school last spring. She knew the risks: her aunt had been killed by her grandfather for seeing a boy. . . .
When news of the love affair spread to her family, she said, her mother warned her that her father would kill her. But she refused to listen. Then came the threatening text messages, sent by her brothers and uncles, sometimes 15 a day. Derya said they were the equivalent of a death sentence.
Consumed by shame and fearing for her life, she said, she decided to carry out her family’s wishes. First, she said, she jumped into the Tigris River, but she survived. Next she tried hanging herself, but an uncle cut her down. Then she slashed her wrists with a kitchen knife. . . .
She declined to give her last name for fear that her family was still hunting her. “I felt I had no right to dishonor my family, that I have no right to be alive. So I decided to respect my family’s desire and to die.”
Every few weeks in Batman and the surrounding area in southeast Anatolia, which is . . . rural and deeply influenced by conservative Islam, a young woman tries to take her life. Others have been stoned to death, strangled, shot or buried alive. Their offenses ranged from stealing a glance at a boy to wearing a short skirt, wanting to go to the movies, being raped by a stranger or relative or having consensual sex.
Hoping to join the European Union, Turkey has tightened the punishment for attacks on women and girls who have had such experiences. But the violence has continued, if by different means: parents are trying to spare their sons from the harsh punishments associated with killing their sisters by pressing the daughters to take their own lives instead.
“Families of disgraced girls are choosing between sacrificing a son to a life in prison by designating him to kill his sister or forcing their daughters to kill themselves,” said Yilmaz Akinci, who works for a rural development group. “Rather than losing two children, most opt for the latter option.”
Women’s groups here say the evidence suggests that a growing number of girls considered to be dishonored are being locked in a room for days with rat poison, a pistol or a rope, and told by their families that the only thing resting between their disgrace and redemption is death.
Batman (pronounced bot-MON) is a grim and dusty city of 250,000 people where religion is clashing with Turkey’s official secularism. . . .
In the past six years, there have been 165 suicides or suicide attempts in Batman, 102 of them by women. As many as 36 women have killed themselves since the start of this year, according to the United Nations. The organization estimates that 5,000 women are killed each year around the world by relatives who accuse them of bringing dishonor on their families; the majority of the killings are in the Middle East.

[DS: What a shocker!]

“The calls keep coming,” said Mehtap Ceylan, a member of Batman’s suicide prevention squad. She said she had very recently received a call about a 16-year-old girl who had committed suicide, her family said, because they would not let her wear jeans. But when Ms. Ceylan visited the house, neighbors told her the girl had been a happy person and had been wearing jeans for years.
“The story just doesn’t add up,” Ms. Ceylan said. “The girl’s family says their daughter was eating breakfast, walked into the next room and put a gun to her head. They were acting as if nothing had happened.”

But, of course, it’s not Islam that did this. No, the NYTimes would never blame the “Religion of Peace” for anything. Usually it’s the NSA, the Bush Admin., etc., etc., ad absurdum. But this time, the paper got more creative. Its reporter Bilefsky blames it on the Kurds, the Internet, MTV. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Psychologists here say social upheavals in a region rocked by terrorism have played a role in the suicides. Many of the victims come from families in rural villages who have been displaced from the mountains to the cities because of warfare between Turkey and a Kurdish guerrilla group that wants to create an independent state for Kurds in southeastern Turkey.
Young women like Derya, who have previously led protected lives under the rigid moral strictures of their families and Islam, are suddenly finding themselves in the modern Turkey of Internet dating and MTV. The shift can create dangerous tensions, sometimes lethal ones, between their families and the secular values of the republic that the young women seek to embrace.

We blame MTV for many things, like empty heads and Playboy Channel-Paris Hilton values. But does this sound to you like MTV is to blame? Or, the more obvious, factual choice: Islam?:

The price can be heavy. When a woman is suspected of engaging in sexual relations out of wedlock, her male relatives convene a family council to decide her sentence. Once news of the family’s shame has spread to the community, the family typically rules that it is only through death that its honor can be restored.
The European Union has warned Turkey that it is closely monitoring its progress on women’s rights and that failure to progress could impede its drive to enter the union.
Until recently, a family member of a dishonored girl, usually a brother younger than 18, would carry out the death sentence and receive a short prison sentence because of his youth. Sentences also were reduced under the defense that a relative had been provoked to commit murder.
But in the past two years, Turkey has revamped its penal code and imposed life sentences for such killings, known as honor killings, regardless of the killer’s age. This has prompted some families to take other steps, such as forcing their daughters to commit suicide or killing them and disguising the deaths as suicides.

So glad Turkey did the “right thing”–not because it’s morally reprehensible to murder young women over this, but because they want to be in the European Union. The Islamic humanitarianism is just overwhelming.
Religion of Peace? Uh-huh. Peace after honor suicide (or murder).

Honor killings in Mohammeden countries, particularly the Arabia-wannabe Pakistan, are very rampant.

But giving the “your choice of death” option to the girl/woman involved is something new. I-Slamic feminists should be happy with this! They are happy indeed, as you can see from this photo.

I might sound a little crude, but I think if we look on the bright side, it just means fewer future jihadists born. I read that the cause for honor suicides or honor killings are generally caused by interactions between Mohammeden and Kafirs; read what happens to the product of those marriages.

“In Egypt, for example, marriages between Christian men and Muslim women are thought to account for the 15,000 conversions to Islam said to take place every year on average.”
Yes, let honor killings stay. They may indirectly make the world a better place. We already have enough half-Arabs running organizations like ADC. We do not need more.

I used to work with an American woman who converted to Islam right after 9/11. She tried to explain to anyone who would listen that she did so because “Islam is the only civilized religion”. Civilized compared to what?

I’m so glad you brought some light to this topic. Let’s be fair now. Lest we sound like hypocrites, there is also nothing wrong at all with a Jewish woman dating a Muslim who is peaceful. We know full well that there are some decent (horror-of-horrors) Muslims on earth.

’nuff said. Let’s move on. We gotcha.
UH, GOT ME HOW? I DON’T THINK SO. YOU KEEP TRYING. THE POINT IS THAT EXTREMIST MUSLIMS ARE THE ONES WHO DO THE ULTIMATE ACT OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN FOR SLEEPING WITH THE WRONG MAN (LET ALONE ANY MAN BEFORE MARRIAGE)–DEATH. SORRY THAT WAS APPARENTLY LOST ON YOU. GUESS YOU PICKED THE SCREEN NAME “CLUELESS” FOR A REASON.

Elih (Batman) was not featured in Snow; Kars was. However, the story did revolve around suicides of young women.
Turkey does a lot of “revamping the penal code,” but these changes are rarely implemented on the ground. It’s all a big show for the EU.
The fact is that Turkey has no interest in enforcing the law in Kurdistan, because the less Kurds there are, the better off Turkey is.
Of course, all this news is very old. We had a discussion on it back in June:
http://rastibini.blogspot.com/2006/06/whos-got-shame.html
The fact is that we know there are no Westerners (or Easterners, for that matter) who care whether or not Kurdish women are murdered, neither on the Right nor on the Left, as the post here shows.
It is Kurds, and Kurds alone, who will handle this problem as we have already been doing.
The issue of the millions of Kurds ethnically-cleansed from their villages by the Turkish state is also a very serious one, one that the West prefers to ignore in order to save its own face in its dealings with its good Turkish ally.

I wrote Debbie about this.
The new feminism in the Arab world is women blowing up Jews along with themselves instead of giving birth to babies. Its abortion Arab-style.
Come of thing of it, with the Left being enamored of both progress and death, that’s a heady brew. No wonder leftists and Islamofascists have so much in common these days.

Hi Debbie! I’m 16 and go to an all black high school just like you did. There is a guy there who is black that I like. But my parents are really uptight about this. They just do not agree with it. As someone whose opinion I respect, what should I tell my parents? Thanks for your help.

Shelly, your parents know better beccause they are older (Gawd I sound like what my parents used to be) and because of that priviledge, at 16, you’re too young to have a boyfriend. If you brought home a white, Asian or any other ethnic fgroup, they’ll do the same.
Shell, graduate high school, go to college, get a career, work hard and take vacation time from work to travel and meet other people. That’s what Deb did and she’s been around the world! You get tied down to one relationship, I guarantee you that you won’t be able to see:
Canyon de Chelly (You could pronounce this when you visit it)
Mammoth Mountain
Yosemite
The Smokey Mountain
Mt McKinley
The Four Corner States
Mt Rushmore
East and west of the Rockies
Hawaii
Japan
Taiwan
China
And a vast multitudes of cities because you got married too early and your husband or boyfrined has to work two jobs to make ends meet. Look at it this way, you have the opportunity to go on your own, use your own money and find a better (RICHER) boyfriend for you to keep. So, study hard and make Deb proud of you, OK?

Thanks KOAJaps! My parents want me to go to college. I want to be a Lawyer just like Debbie. I guess I’ll put off the dating scene for now and take your advice. Wish I had a Mom like Debbie! (no offence Mom, I still love you)

While honor killings and suicides continue, along with the regular jihadi I-SLAMic homicidal activity all over the world, these nitwits at ADC put on a slideshow of the destruction in Lebanon.
Interesting to note where their areas of concern lie —
1. there is absolutely no mention of attrocities like honor killings/suicides,
2. there are NO rights for non-Mohammadens or non-Arab citizens,
3. the taxes are higher and punishments galore, especially for kafirs, and they of course love it but won’t mention it; and they want equality, LMAO
4. they are free to attack and bomb kafirs, they can spew anti-Jewish and anti-Christian crap, and then complain of discrimination if anyone returns the favor,
5. they consider themselves Arabs first and last, thats why their group is called American Arab and not Arab American,
6. they emanate from a bloody nation with a bloody culture, their flags have symbols of swords, and they call themselves as followers of Religion of Piss, er Peace.
Arab and Human Rights my A$$. You cannot have them both in the same sentence unless the Arab has done something!
