Great to see the loveliest Deb on TV, finally!
You made some good points, Debbie, especially when you were asked if Coulter should apologize and you stated the libs never ask Ward Churchill and others of his ilk to apologize.
BTW, you looked great.

The_Man on June 14, 2006 at 9:34 pm

Great job, Debbie. I think you were right on the money on all counts.
Scarborough seemed kind of disengaged to me. Yeah, he had too much going on in his earpiece, but it seemed like he was mailing it in and didn’t really want to talk about your side.

Arguing that “gee, liberals don’t ask for apologies from Ward Churchill” is a point best made another time. It rather misses and distracts from Coulter’s main point and real message: that the “9-11 widows” are merely one example of victims starving for self-significance marched out by liberals in order to stymie debate by conservatives. I hope that message got through. As my mother used to say before I’d go on t.v., “Son, if you didn’t state your message, then you were there to pose for pictures.”

Got to see you last night. OK, that settles it! When I get back from vacation, I’m going to seriously consider buying a large diamond for a finger on your left hand (no, not the middle one which you have already given me). I think you presented yourself professionally and were lovely as usual.

RoboSlater, as for “gee, liberals don’t ask for apologies from Ward Churchill” point, Debbie was asked the question and answered. Besides, from what I’ve heard Ann state, the “9-11 widows” issue is just one small part of her book so that isn’t her main point, anyway.
Debbie, you were great. It seemed the segment was rushed, though, and not treated as very important.
But, Debbie the Dating Machine, you need to take a cue from Ann and start wearing the tiny black dresses. Not that you didn’t look great as always, I’m just saying…

Jeff_W on June 15, 2006 at 11:54 am

Jeff_W,
One can answer questions without abandoning the message. It’s why some interviewees are so much more effective (and memorable) than others. It’s a “sound bite” environ, and if the questioner misframes a question or misses the point, whose duty is it then to set it right? “Liberals don’t question Ward Churchill, but that’s not the main point, Charlie…” is a possible reply.
Am I misusing this space to offer constructive criticism of someone whose talent and views I respect or should I be commenting on Debbie’s hemline or dating habits as seems the majority here?

RoboSlater on June 15, 2006 at 2:08 pm

Jeff_W,
Calling her “Debbie The Dating Machine” seems a tad disrespectful. And I doubt she needs fashion advice from you.

Freudianslippers on June 15, 2006 at 2:28 pm

Not meant to be disrespectful at all, just a poor attempt at humor. Oh, OK, I’ll be serious all the time in everything for now on. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. Sorry, I’ll go to my room now.

You know what? Ann Coulter shouldn’t apologize, she should stick to what she believes in and never sway. Stick to the fact that she does not care that 9/11 killed many of the women’s husbands and yes, they do go on T.V. looking for explanations, like why was the military ordered to stand down during the attack at the WTC. Not that she’s jealous that they get more air time than she does, but coulter did say,
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/celebrities/3966445.html
“These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arrazies,” the conservative pundit writes in Godless: The Church of Liberalism, released last Tuesday. “I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.” Later, she adds: “And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren’t planning to divorce these harpies?”
Now the media is saying she’s bashing for the attention. I hope that’s a lie, because, she could hook up with:

KOAJaps, you are one kooky and angry guy. You should read the whole chapter of “Godless” for context and you’ll realize how you were duped by the MSM about Coulter’s perceptions about the four 9-1 widows and the deep respect she holds for the rest who were refused airtime by the MSM. The MSM you obviously trusted really cleaned your clock on this issue, which Jeff_W erroneously thinks was a small part of the book (it was a whole chapter).

RoboSlater on June 16, 2006 at 5:26 am

RoboSlater, the deeply humbled Jeff_W based my remarks on Ann Coulter’s interview on the Tonite Show. She herself stated that liberals weren’t offended by titling the book “Godless” but were offended by one small part of her book about the 9/11 widows. Her words, not mine.
I do hope Ms. Schlussel takes your advice in her future interviews.
P.S…the previous “Debbie the Dating Machine” was a silly joke because in a previous column Ms. Schlussel said something about not wanting to tower over all the guys she dates (or something close to that). No disrespect intended, just as I said a poor attempt at levity. I have seen the errors of my ways and have undergone reeducation.

You better believe I’m mad. When a ragged-headed shit-bag kills more than 3,000 people on 9/11 and is running free, I am mad. Wouldn’t you be mad too? And as much as I hate Msssss Cunter I mean Coulter, and she says:
“These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arrazies,” the conservative pundit writes in Godless: The Church of Liberalism, released last Tuesday. “I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.” Later, she adds: “And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren’t planning to divorce these harpies?”
I’m for it I mean her 100% Les look at each sentence
01) “These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arrazies,”
02) “I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.”
03) And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren’t planning to divorce these harpies?”
I don’t agree what Coulter says, but guess what, the Constitution guarantees it, she has the right to say it, believe it and practice what she preaches. Too bad this story is going to die, like most of her life’s story. Hey Msssss Coulter, time to write another shocking story. Why not call it Privates Parts or Miss America? I wonder if Annie would go on the Howard Stern Show? Deb does and everyone loves her.
